Abstract

ABSTRACT Since 1989, environmental education has been integrated into all subjects at all levels of primary and secondary education, one of which is Biology. However, until now, the learning outcomes of environmental education have not been widely felt, especially in changes in knowledge, attitudes, and behavior (environmental literacy). This study aims to determine whether environmental education materials integrated with biology subjects strengthen students' environmental literacy. Based on this, a study was conducted to analyze students' knowledge, attitudes, and behavior (environmental literacy) that have obtained environmental materials integrated with biology subjects. The research was conducted by identifying the syllabus and lesson plans for biology subjects and evaluating environmental education materials; then, students were given a questionnaire divided into three groups of questions according to environmental literacy standards: knowledge, attitudes, and behavior towards the environment. The research sample was 84 students from grades X and XII. The analysis results show that integrating environmental education materials in biology subjects does not strengthen the students' environmental literacy. These results can be interpreted that integrated environmental education materials need to be deepened, curriculum design, teaching method innovation, and learning media. Keywords: integration of environmental knowledge, biology subject, environment education, environmental literacy.

Abstract

ABSTRAKProses pembelajaran dan metode pembelajaran tatap muka pada umumnya menggunakan guru sebagai sumbernya. Berdasarkan penelitian relevan yang terdahulu ternyata pembelajaran yang menggunakan guru sebagai sumbernya dinilai kurang efektif dalam pembelajaran dikelas. Dan berdasarkan study pendahuluan ada 77,3 % (38 peserta didik) dapat mendeskripsikan lingkungannya, tapi saat dikaitkan dengan materi pembelajaran kimia, hanya 7 dari 38 peserta didik yang menjawab dengan contoh nyata bahwa ilmu pengetahuan itu berkaitan dengan kehidupan sehari-hari. Sementara materi ilmu kimia menuntut untuk berpikir dalam tiga dimensi yaitu: makroskopis (hasil pengamatan), simbolik (persamaan reaksi), dan mikroskopis (unsur, senyawa, kimia).Untuk meningkatkan efektifitas dalam pembelajaran maka dapat dilakukan dengan berbagai metode yang di antaranya adalah dengan pembelajaran kontekstual. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui gambaran kemampuan berpikir peserta didik baik sebelum atau sesudah menggunakan pembelajaran kontekstual, dan tentunya untuk mengetahui ada tidaknya pengaruh pembelajaran kontekstual terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik Sekolah Menengah Atas (SMA). Sehingga penelitian ini dapat memberikan manfaat baik pada guru (memberi sumber referensi untuk meningkatkan pengembangan metode pembelajaran), peserta didik (mengingat dan menyimpan materi tersebut dalam jangka waktu yang lama, sekolah (menambah referensi untuk pengembangan RPP yang lebih inovatif), dan peneliti (bahan pertimbangan untuk dikembangkan lebih lanjut, dan referensi pada penelitian yang sejenis). Penelitian ini adalah eksperimen pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain Quasi Eksperimental design pola pretest posttest only control group design dengan menggunakan lembar tes tulis uraian berpikir kritis. Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah 56 peserta didik. Tahapan penelitian yang dilakukan meliputi : tahap perencanaan, tahap pelaksanaan dan tahap penyelesaian. Kelayakan instrumen penelitian dilakukan dengan uji reabilitas, validasi, dan tingkat kesukaran. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan bahwa N-Gain yang diperoleh adalah 0,40 dengan interpretasi “sedang”, yang bermakna pembelajaran kontekstual memiliki pengaruh sedang terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik. Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa pembelajaran kontekstual cukup efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik SMA pada materi peranan kimia dalam kehidupan. Kata kunci: Berpikir Kritis, Pembelajaran Kontekstual, Peranan Kimia. ABSTRACT Analysis of Improving Students' Critical Thinking Ability on Material on the Role of Chemistry in Life Using Contextual Learning at SMAN 1 Losarang. The learning process and face-to-face learning methods generally use the teacher as the source. Based on previous relevant research, it turns out that learning that uses teachers as a source is considered less effective in classroom learning. And based on a preliminary study, 77.3% (38 students) could describe their environment, but when it was related to chemistry learning material, only 7 out of 38 students answered with concrete examples that science is related to everyday life. Meanwhile, chemistry material requires thinking in three dimensions, namely: macroscopic (observation results), symbolic (reaction equations), and microscopic (elements, compounds, chemistry). To increase effectiveness in learning, it can be done using various methods, including contextual learning. This research aims to determine the picture of students' thinking abilities either before or after using contextual learning, and of course to find out whether there is an influence of contextual learning on the critical thinking abilities of high school (SMA) students. So this research can provide benefits to both teachers (providing a reference source to improve the development of learning methods), students (remembering and retaining the material for a long period of time), schools (adding references for developing more innovative lesson plans), and researchers (materials considerations for further development, and references to similar research). This research is an experimental quantitative approach with a Quasi Experimental design with a pretest posttest only control group design pattern using a written test sheet describing critical thinking. The sample in this research was 56 students. The research stages carried out include: planning stage, implementation stage and completion stage. The feasibility of the research instrument was carried out by testing reliability, validation and level of difficulty. The results of data analysis show that the N-Gain obtained is 0.40 with the interpretation of "medium", which means that contextual learning has a moderate influence on students' critical thinking abilities. Thus, it can be concluded that contextual learning is quite effective in improving high school students' critical thinking skills on the role of chemistry. Keywords : Critical Thinking, Contextual Learning, The Role of Chemistry.

Abstract

Background: Student success is often measured by the ability to answer questions, not by the application of the values ​​learned. In fact, instilling religious values ​​is more effective through affective and psychomotor approaches. Therefore, innovative learning is needed that touches the heart and forms real behavior. Purpose: The objectives of this study are to describe and analyze in depth how the internalization of Islamic religious education values occurs through the habit of praying dhuha at SMAN 1 Sukra Indramayu. Method: This research uses a qualitative approach with a case study type , The location of this research is SMAN 1 Sukra Indramayu, data analysis was carried out in three stages, namely data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. Results: The habit of praying dhuha at SMAN 1 Sukra Indramayu has proven to be an effective strategy in internalizing the values of Islamic religious education through the process of transformation, transaction, and transinternalization of values. This activity not only fosters the habit of worship, but also forms the character of students who are religious, disciplined, and have noble morals, and creates a school culture that is spiritual and harmonious, with active support from educators, parents, and the school environment. Conclusion: The implementation of Dhuha prayer in congregation every Friday serves as a means of forming students' religious character through the integration of cognitive, affective, and psychomotor aspects. Internalization of values ​​is carried out in three stages: transformation of values ​​through theoretical understanding, transaction of values ​​through involvement in worship, and transinternalization when these values ​​become part of students' behavior and self-awareness.
