Method: The method used in this study uses the method of counseling material on the importance of knowing bad habits in children and how to prevent them. This research includes experimental research conducted directly in the working area of the Margasari Health Center. The data obtained will be processed in SPSS and tested. Result: This study resulted in data that after counseling and delivery of material by the team, the community had a higher level of awareness. This result is supported by a significant difference between before and after counseling. This is important because bad habits in children will have an impact on adulthood. Abstract

Background: Dental and oral health is an important part of overall body health. Cavities are one of the most common dental and oral problems experienced by people in the world, including in Indonesia. Cavities must get treatment as soon as possible before causing unwanted things. The increasing and growing use of filling materials is in line with increasing public awareness of dental and oral health. However, this is not evenly distributed in all regions, only areas that have adequate access and technology can reach this information, so education efforts are needed for people outside the area. Health education is one of the efforts to increase knowledge, attitudes, and good practices in individuals, groups, or communities in maintaining and improving public health. The locations that are targeted in this community service are villages in the working area of the Margasari Health Center, Tegal Regency, Central Java. Method: The planned educational activities include surveying the problems encountered, counseling and discussions on the topic of introducing dental fillings in children and adults. This community service aims to increase public awareness of the importance of treating cavities and increase public understanding regarding the choice of materials used in the treatment of cavities. Result: Counseling begins by distributing questionnaires before and after the counseling. The selected counseling material is material about various additives commonly used in dentistry. The data was then entered and it was found that there was a significant difference between before and before the research was carried out, the p-value was 0.000. Conclusion: The education provided through counseling can be concluded as effective in increasing the knowledge of the people of Margasari Village.

Abstract

Background: This TMJ problem or jaw joint disorder is classified as an emergency, so treatment must be done immediately. The causes of this jaw joint problem are multifactorial. Generally divided into two, namely structural disorders and functional disorders. Functional disorders arise due to deviant function due to abnormalities in the position or function of the teeth and chewing muscles. Treatment, when someone has TMJ problems, is usually a reduction action that is carried out directly by a doctor. This cannot be done by ordinary people. However, sometimes people self-diagnose and resort to invalid sources which can actually lead to more serious problems. Method: The educational method is carried out by active counseling and discussions given to the people of Margasari Village. Then, the community was asked to fill out a questionnaire to assess the effectiveness of delivering material about this TMJ. Result: People who have filled out the questionnaire were found to have a significant difference between before and after being given the material. People become more aware of the material and are expected to be able to apply it in everyday life. Conclusion: There is a significant difference between before and after being given TMJ games.

Abstract

Background: Dental and oral hygiene is a special concern for school-age children. Children who are not used to keeping their teeth and mouth clean will tend to experience dental problems. This problem begins when an imbalance of mineralization and demineralization in children causes microorganisms to enter the mouth. These microorganisms will stick to and develop on the teeth which begins with the appearance of plaque and tartar in children. Riskesdas 2018 data shows that 93% of children in Indonesia experience cavities. The data shows that the level of awareness to maintain dental and oral hygiene is still low, so educational efforts are needed to increase children's knowledge. This study provides media interventions in the form of posters, 3D media, and video playback to children to attract children's attention to understand and improve dental and oral hygiene behavior. Method: This research method uses an experimental method that is directly given to elementary school students in Kesambi Village, Tegal Regency. The number of students who participated in this was 55 people with an age range of 9 - 12 years. This research started by giving a questionnaire, then giving the material, and filling out the questionnaire. The results of the questionnaire will be processed and entered into the SPSS data. Result: Knowledge before and after the extension intervention has increased as evidenced by a significant increase. This is in accordance with the results of the p-value which shows 0.000, which means that there is a significant difference before and after penuluhan. Conclusion: Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that counseling about children's plaque and tartar conducted on elementary school students in Kesambi Village is effective because it gets significant results.
