Abstract

Youth are the hope for the future, but behind this hope lie challenges that may alter the course of today's youth. The students of SMTK Gloria Sentani face challenges that are feared to shake their faith, leading to a degradation of their beliefs. The purpose of this Community Service (PkM) is to strengthen the Christian values of the youth, particularly the students of SMTK Gloria Sentani, in defining their identity to carve out a brighter future. The methods used in this PkM include observation-interviews, lectures-discussions, and the preparation of accountability reports packaged in the form of scientific articles such as national journals. The results achieved include an understanding and cognitive maturity regarding the concept of the "youth planet" and the outlined destinations for youth in general. Through this activity, it is hoped that the students of SMTK Gloria Sentani will develop an optimistic attitude towards the global challenges they are currently facing.

Abstract

Generation Z (Gen Z) are adolescents known for multitasking, high technological adaptability, creativity, and curiosity. This study explores the integration of Christian Religious Education (PAK) in fostering resilience and effective participation of Gen Z at GPdI Elohim Sentani in facing global challenges. This study focuses on the role and relevance of PAK in strengthening resilience (relevance, active learning, technology) and participation (service, mentorship, community connection). This study used qualitative descriptive method with thematic analysis. Data were collected through questionnaires from 30 church adolescents and Focus Group Discussions (FGD) included interview. The questionnaire data were analyzed with Likert and Guttman scales to measure resilience and participation. Interviews were processed with reduction and indexing techniques. The results show that Gen Z at GPdI Elohim Sentani has a strong understanding of the importance of Christian teachings, with a 100% response rate. However, only 33.33% engaged in active learning, and 83.33% rated the role of technology very positively. Participation in church service and mentorship was low at 33.33%. Nevertheless, community connection among congregants was positive, with 43.33% having very good relationships and 57.67% good relationships. Low participation of Gen Z at GPdI Elohim is caused by the relevance of interest.

Abstract

This research aims to describe the transformation of digital-based Christian Religious Education learning for Alpha Generation students. The background of this research is the gap between the rapid advancement of digital technology and the conventional approach to religious learning. The research used a qualitative method with a descriptive design. The research subjects consisted of students and teachers. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, then analysed using thematic analysis techniques. The results showed that the integration of digital media in Christian Religious Education learning contributed to increasing students' interest in learning, participation, and understanding. Digital media is perceived as more interactive, relevant, and in accordance with the characteristics of Generation Alpha. However, this study also found barriers in the form of limited school facilities and teachers' readiness in mastering technology. Overall, this study confirms that digital-based learning innovation is a significant strategy to improve the quality of Christian Religious Education in the digital era

Abstract

This study examines the theological meaning of the expression qui bene cantat, bis orat in worship singing practices and its contribution to the formation of the faith of the GKI Solafide Sereh congregation due to shifts in contemporary church music practices that have the potential to place singing more as an aesthetic expression than as a prayer that is experienced theologically. This study uses a qualitative approach with a contextual theology paradigm. Data was collected through participatory observation in worship services, in-depth interviews with liturgical ministers and congregants, and analysis of the lyrics of hymns used in worship services. The analysis was conducted using a theological-hermeneutical approach, viewing singing as a locus theologicus, or a space where faith is experienced and lived out. The results of the study indicate that hymns are understood by the congregation as a form of personal and communal prayer that brings about an experience of closeness to God, especially when supported by theological lyrics that are relevant to life experiences. Hymns function as an affective, relational, and transformative medium that shapes individual faith while strengthening communal faith identity. This study concludes that in the context of GKI Solafide Sereh, singing with sincerity not only deepens prayer, but also shapes a living and sustainable faith in the practice of church life.
