Abstract

Taking into account auditory, visual, and kinesthetic learning modalities, this research animed to evaluate students mathematical communication abilities on the subject of Two Variable Linear Equation Systems. This qualitative study surveyed six junior high school students from the city of Sukabumi. The tools used for this study were a written exam to evaluate mathematical communication abilities and a learning style questionnaire. Mathematical communication skills are the basis of the learning style questionnaire. These skills include the ability to draw connections between mathematical ideas and real word objects, images, and diagrams to explain mathematical concepts, situations, and relationships in writing and to express events or ideas using mathematical symbols or language. Communication abilities are excellent among students with low visual learning styles, as are those with high visual learning styles, according to the study’s findings. The communication abilities of pupils whose learning style is mostly auditory are good, while those whose learning style is predominantly visual are poor. The same holds true for students communication abilities, those who learn best via movement tend to have excellent ones, while those who learn best by sitting still tend to struggle. Knowing one’s own learning style is crucial for pupils to enhance their mathematics communication abilities

Abstract

This study aims to provide an in-depth understanding of legal norms and their application in the tensions between North Korea and South Korea, as well as to integrate various legal sources and scholarly literature as the basis for analysis. The research employs a qualitative method with a normative approach, focusing on the analysis of applicable legal norms, principles, and regulations at both national and international levels. The data are obtained from various sources, including legislation, legal doctrines, academic journals, books, official websites, and relevant international legal instruments. Data analysis is conducted qualitatively through the evaluation, interpretation, and synthesis of legal materials to produce logical and comprehensive legal arguments. The findings indicate that the conflict between North Korea and South Korea constitutes a complex and protracted global security issue, with significant implications for the stability of East Asia and the international legal system. From the perspective of international law, this conflict is not merely a bilateral dispute but represents a serious violation of norms and principles of world peace. The United Nations Security Council has responded by issuing resolutions condemning North Korea’s actions and imposing economic and political sanctions, such as asset freezes and oil embargoes. However, the enforcement of international law faces major obstacles due to North Korea’s non-compliance.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze rent-seeking practices in the expansion of illegal oil palm plantations and their contribution to environmental degradation in Tesso Nilo National Park (TNTN), Riau Province. A qualitative descriptive approach was employed using a document-based method. The study relied entirely on secondary data obtained from government reports, policy and regulatory documents, academic publications, civil society organization reports, and relevant media sources. Data were collected through systematic document analysis and analyzed using thematic and content analysis techniques guided by Rent-Seeking Theory to examine power relations, actor interactions, and institutional mechanisms that enable illegal land conversion. The findings reveal that environmental degradation in TNTN is structurally driven by a rent-seeking network involving state and non-state actors, including government officials, palm oil entrepreneurs, and land brokers. These actors exploit regulatory loopholes, weak law enforcement, and fragmented institutional authority to facilitate illegal land clearing and informal land legitimization. As a result, ecological damage occurs systematically, reflected in extensive deforestation, habitat loss, increased human-wildlife conflict, and weakened conservation governance. This study concludes that Environmental Degradation in TNTN is rooted in governance failure and unequal power relations rather than merely technical limitations. Therefore, structural reforms emphasizing transparency, accountability, and consistent law enforcement are essential to dismantle rent-seeking practices and ensure sustainable conservation management.
