Abstract

The skin of red dragon fruit (Hylocereus Polyrhizus) contains active substances that are useful for extracting in making natural serums. Antioxidants, one of the important compounds in serum that can protect the skin and capture free radicals. This study aims to prove the presence of antioxidants in serum made from red dragon fruit peel extract, and to compare the effect of using 70% and 96% ethanol solvents on the physical properties and antioxidant activity of the serum. The extraction method used was maceration extraction, by testing the flavonoid content and free ethanol content in the extract. The physical properties of the serum were tested including organoleptics, pH, homogeneity, viscosity, spreadability and stickiness. Meanwhile, antioxidant activity was tested using the UV-VIS spectrophotometric method. The research results show that red dragon fruit peel extract contains flavonoids with orange and red colors, and does not have an ester odor. Serum preparations from 70% and 96% ethanol extracts have semisolid form, characteristic odor, color differences, pH 5, homogeneous, with viscosities of 464 cPs and 341 cPs respectively. The spreadability of the serum is 7.1 cm and 9.7 cm, while the adhesive power is 0.88 and 0.93. The serum antioxidant activity of 70% and 96% ethanol extracts was 39.59 µg/mL and 45.87 µg/mL. The 70% ethanol extract serum meets the standard physical properties of serum and has stronger antioxidant activity compared to the 96% ethanol extract serum, indicated by the lower IC50 value. Flavonoids, as antioxidant compounds, have various types and different polarities depending on the position and number of hydroxyl groups.

Abstract

Elderly (Elderly) is the final phase of a person's life who often looks at the past with regret and ignores the future. This is part of the human growth and development process which involves physical, mental and social changes. Elderly people often experience stress, depression and disappointment. Family support is very important in overcoming this problem. The case study of Client "M" shows that the elderly experience dissapointment, emotions and stress. The Family Support approach is an effective solution, with the aim of understanding, accepting and encouraging individuals. Family support helps increase self-confidence and motivation to face problems. This research examines the application of family support in overcoming dissatisfaction in the elderly (Case Study of Client M in Cinta Jaya Village, Ogan Komering Ilir Regency). The aim is to identify forms of dissatisfaction in client M and analyze the application of family support to overcome this dissatisfaction. The method used is a qualitative approach with case studies and field research. Data was obtained through observation, interviews and documentation, and analyzed using pattern matching, explanation and time series analysis methods. The results show various forms of disappointment in client M, including with themselves, other people, living conditions and the surrounding environment. Implementing family support involves the stages of a counseling approach, problem identification, problem solving strategies, implementation, evaluation, and feedback. The researcher succeeded in helping client "M" change his mindset and accept his condition, as well as strengthen family ties through loving support.

Abstract

Raw material stock management is an important aspect in the smooth operation of the Food and Beverage (F&B) business. Coffee Shop Ulon, which operates in the coffee beverage sector, still records stock manually, which often causes problems such as the accumulation of materials with a short shelf life or stock shortages that impact service. To overcome this, an information system is needed that is able to manage inventory more efficiently, accurately, and integrated. This study aims to build a Web-Based Raw Material Stock Management Information System Using the Just In Time (JIT) Method with the PHP (Laravel) programming language and MySQL as a database. The implementation of the JIT method is expected to help Coffee Shop Ulon ensure the availability of raw materials according to needs, reduce waste due to expired materials, and prevent stock shortages. The results of this study are a web-based information system with features for recording incoming and outgoing raw materials, expiration reports (waste), minimum stock reminders, and recording supplies from suppliers. With this system, stock management at Coffee Shop Ulon becomes more organized, efficient, and supports fast and accurate decision making.

Abstract

Integrating critical thinking in biology education is increasingly urgent to strengthen environmental awareness and support climate action aligned with SDG 13. This study investigates research trends on the relationship between critical thinking skills and environmental awareness within biology education in the context of climate change action. A bibliometric and literature review approach was applied to journal articles indexed in Scopus and Google Scholar. Data were collected using Publish or Perish 8 and analyzed through five phases: data collection, keyword identification, relationship-matrix construction, visualization, and interpretation. Bibliometric mapping was performed using VOSviewer. Publications from 2020–2025 show dominant themes including critical thinking, problem solving, climate change, climate action, sustainability, and education for sustainable development (ESD). The mapping indicates biology education as a major domain connecting critical thinking, environmental awareness, and climate action research related to SDG 13. The findings provide an overview of recent research directions and identify key thematic clusters that can inform future development of biology learning models to support climate action through strengthened critical thinking and environmental awareness. Abstrak. Integrasi kemampuan berpikir kritis dalam pembelajaran biologi semakin mendesak untuk memperkuat kesadaran lingkungan dan mendukung aksi iklim sesuai SDGs 13. Penelitian ini menelaah tren riset mengenai keterkaitan kemampuan berpikir kritis dan kesadaran lingkungan dalam konteks pendidikan biologi yang berorientasi pada aksi perubahan iklim. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan tinjauan literatur dan analisis bibliometrik terhadap artikel jurnal terindeks Scopus dan Google Scholar. Pengambilan data dilakukan dengan Publish or Perish 8, kemudian dianalisis melalui lima tahap yakni pengumpulan data, identifikasi kata kunci, penyusunan matriks keterkaitan, visualisasi, serta interpretasi. Pemetaan bibliometrik dilakukan menggunakan VOSviewer. Publikasi periode 2020–2025 didominasi tema berpikir kritis, pemecahan masalah, perubahan iklim, aksi iklim, keberlanjutan, dan education for sustainable development (ESD). Pemetaan menunjukkan pendidikan biologi sebagai domain utama yang menghubungkan riset berpikir kritis, kesadaran lingkungan, dan aksi iklim terkait SDGs 13. Temuan memberikan gambaran arah riset terkini dan klaster tema utama yang dapat menjadi dasar pengembangan model pembelajaran biologi untuk mendukung aksi iklim melalui penguatan berpikir kritis dan kesadaran lingkungan.
