Abstract

The importance of mathematical literacy skills is often not matched by the availability of supportive questions that aid in improving these abilities. Therefore, this study aims to develop valid and practical mathematical literacy questions specifically on the topic of circles, suitable for eighth-grade junior high school students. Employing the ADDIE model of research and development (RD), which includes analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation, the research involved 32 eighth-grade students as subjects. Instruments utilized included expert validation sheets, student response questionnaires, and a mathematical literacy test. Data analysis techniques encompassed both quantitative and qualitative analyses. Results from expert validation and student response questionnaires indicated that the developed instruments are both valid and practical. Expert validation tests achieved an 86% success rate overall, with 88% validity for material aspects, 88% for construction aspects, and 83% for language aspects. Validity testing, reliability testing, and item discrimination analysis confirmed the questions' validity, reliability, and appropriateness. The student response questionnaire yielded an 87% success rate, indicating high practicality for educational use. These findings demonstrate the effectiveness and applicability of the developed mathematical literacy questions in enhancing students' mathematical literacy skills and suggest their suitability for integration into the teaching process.

Abstract

Terlibat dengan konten statistika mengharuskan siswa untuk terlibat dalam pemikiran abstrak. Namun demikian bukti empiris menunjukkan bahwa sebagian besar siswa masih kesulitan memahami konsep statistika. Hal ini disebabkan oleh metode pedagogi yang tidak memadai yang digunakan dalam pengajaran statistika dan pemanfaatan konten modul yang tersedia kurang optimal. Tujuan dari proyek ini adalah untuk membuat modul pengajaran statistika yang menggabungkan soal-soal literasi numerasi dan menggunakan pendekatan pembelajaran berbasis masalah yang praktis dan efesien. Studi ini melibatkan Research and Development (R&D) dengan memanfaatkan paradigma pengembangan ADDIE yang mencakup lima tahapan berbeda: analisis, desain, pengembangan, implementasi, dan evaluasi. Partisipan penelitian adalah siswa kelas X APL di SMK Negeri 2 Pandeglang. Instrumen penelitian ini meliputi lembar validasi materi, validasi kegrafikan, dan angket sebagai metode untuk menilai jawaban siswa. Setelah media dibuat berupa modul pembelajaran, dilakukan validasi oleh panel yang terdiri dari tiga orang ahli, antara lain ahli konten dan ahli grafis. Setiap koreksi yang diperlukan dilakukan berdasarkan umpan balik yang diberikan oleh validator. Rata-rata perhitungan validasi menghasilkan skor 3,8 untuk kesesuain isi, 3,6 untuk kesesuaian penyajian dan 3,5 untuk kesesuaian bahasa. Temuan penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa modul pengajaran dapat dianggap sangat valid, efesien, dan dapat diterapkan dalam proses pembelajaran. Berdasarkan pengujian data angket respon siswa, uji coba tersebut mempunyai tingkat keberhasilan sebesar 86,3% yang masuk pada kategori sangat praktis. Temuan analisis data menunjukkan bahwa modul pengajaran valid dan praktis untuk digunakan siswa dalam proses pembelajaran.

Abstract

This study aims to produce valid and practical minimum competency assessment instrument. This study uses the research and development (R&D) of the ADDIE model. The subjects of this study consisted of 32 students in grades VIII SMP Negeri 1 Anyar. The instruments used consisted of expert validation sheets, student response questionnaires, and minimum competency assessment instrument. The data analysis techniques in this study are quantitative analysis and qualitative analysis. Based on the results of research and development of the minimum numeracy competency assessment instrument in the uncertainty and data domain for junior high schools, it was concluded that two questions were very valid, five questions were valid, and one question was invalid. Based on the power of differentiation, invalid questions can be revised or do not need to be used.  Meanwhile, the results of the student response questionnaire were obtained by 84%, meaning that it included very practical criteria with 83% for the content aspect, 80% for the construction aspect, and 90% for the language aspect. Thus, this minimum competency assessment instrument can be used in mathematics learning.
