Abstract

This research aims to determine the effect of using compost from wood dust on the growth of corn plants (Zea Mays L). This type of research is quantitative research with pure experimental methods (true experiments). The population of this study was corn plants (Zea Mays L.) in 30 polybags. This research sample used simple random sampling consisting of 30 polybags of corn plants (Zea Mays L.) with six treatments and five replications. The treatments applied were P0 (without fertilizer), P1 (5 kg), P2 (4 kg), P3 (3 kg), P4 (2 kg), P5 (1kg). This research data was analyzed using the SPSS application version 20. Based on the analysis using the one way anova test, it showed that the application of wood compost powder to the P5 treatment (5 kg) on ​​corn plants had a very real influence on stem height, number of leaves and stem diameter of corn plants. . . The results of data analysis from the Tukey HSD Least Significant Difference (BNT) test also show that the Fcount > Ftable value means Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. This is because the more compost dose given, the more N contained in the bokashi will be received by the soil. Based on the research results, it shows that the use of sawdust compost has a real influence on the growth of corn plants (Zea Mays L.). The advice offered by researchers is that the use of compost should be increased to overcome the scarcity and high cost of inorganic fertilizers.

Abstract

Low productivity of green bean plants (Vigna radiata L.). This research aims to determine the effect of using sago dregs as compost on the growth of green bean plants (Vigna radiata L.). This type of research is descriptive type quantitative research with a pure experimental method (True experiment). The population in this study were all green bean plants that had been seeded, while the samples were the green bean plants themselves, consisting of 30 polybags, six treatments with 5 repetitions. The treatments applied are: P0=0 grams, P1= 50 grams, P2=100 grams, P3=150 grams, P4=200 grams, P5=250 grams. The data in this study were analyzed using normality tests, homogeneity tests and hypothesis tests using the SPSS version 15 application. Based on the results of the research, it shows that there is an influence of using Sago Dregs as Compost Fertilizer on the Growth of Green Bean Plants (Vigna radiata L.) in each treatment and replication, namely starting from the first treatment to the fifth treatment and good growth of green bean plants was at a dose of 250 grams (5th Treatment). The suggestion from researchers is that people should be able to use Sago Dregs as a type of natural fertilizer for green bean plants because this fertilizer, apart from fertilizing the soil, also increases more optimal growth of green bean plants.

Abstract

The aim of this service activity is to provide understanding to the community, especially in Hilisondrekha Village, South Nias Regency, about how to make compost fertilizer from organic waste and the technology used in processing it. The method used in this activity is the lecture method in the form of socialization with participants consisting of the Hilisondrekha Village community. This activity was carried out at the Hilisondrekha Village Hall, South Nias Regency on Friday 17 May 2024. The results obtained from this service in Hilisondrekha Village were that the community was able to process organic waste into organic fertilizer. Activities to utilize technology to process community organic waste have been carried out well. One of the most important factors in processing organic waste into compost is that it can preserve the village environment and is beneficial for community plants. The conclusion of this service activity is that people can make their own fertilizer and sort organic waste from non-organic waste.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of liquid biofertilizer and biochar on the growth and yield of mustard greens (Brassica juncea). This study was conducted from November to December 2023 in the Agrotechnology practicum field, Faculty of Science and Technology, Nias Raya University. The experimental design used was a 3 x 4 factorial Randomized Block Design (RAK) with 3 replications. There were two factors studied, namely the concentration of liquid biofertilizer consisting of three levels, namely Control (P0), 75 ml (P1), and 150 ml (P2), and biochar consisting of 4 levels, namely Control (B1), 1kg (B2), 2kg (B2) and 3kg (B3). The variables observed included plant height, number of leaves, and leaf length, leaf width, and wet weight. The concentration of liquid biofertilizer had a significant effect on leaf length, leaf width, and wet weight of plants aged 35 HST, had no significant effect on plant height, number of leaves aged 7, 14, 21, and 28 HST. The best dose of liquid biofertilizer treatment was at a concentration of 150 ml (P2). The provision of biochar had a significant effect on leaf length, leaf width, and plant wet weight at the age of 35 HST, had no significant effect on plant height and number of leaves at the ages of 7, 14, 21, and 28 HST. The results showed that there was a significant interaction on leaf length, leaf width, and plant wet weight, a significant interaction on leaf length, leaf width, and plant wet weight at the age of 35 HST, while other parameters had no significant effect. The interaction between the concentration of liquid fertilizer 150 ml (P2) with 3 kg of biochar (B3) was the best treatment combination.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian pupuk kandang ayam broiler terhadap pertumbuhan tanaman timun (Cucumis sativus L) Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian kuantitatif dengan metode Eksperimen murni (True eksperimen). Populasi penelitian ini adalah tanaman timun (Cucumis sativus L.) sebanyak 30 polybag. Sampel penelitian ini menggunakan sampel sensu yang terdiri dari 30 polybag tanaman timun (Cucumis sativus L.) dengan enam perlakuan dan lima kali ulangan. Perlakuan yang diterapkan adalah P0 (tanpa pupuk ), P1 (3 gram), P2 (6 gram), P3 (9 gram), P4 (12 gram), P5 (15 gram). Data penelitian ini dianalisis menggunakan Aplikasi SPSS versi 16. Berdasarkan analisis menggunakan uji normalitas, homogenitas dan hipotesis menujukan bahwa pemberian pupuk kandang ayam broiler pada perlakuan P4 (12 gram) dan P5 (15 gram) pada tanaman timun memberikan pengaruh yang sangat nyata terhadap tinggi batang, jumlah daun, dan diameter batang tanaman timun. Hasil analisi data dari uji Beda Nyata Jujur (BNJ) Tukey HSD juga di peroleh bahwa nilai Fhitung > Ftabel maka Ho ditolak dan Ha diterima. Hal ini disebabkan karena semakin banyak dosis pupuk yang diberikan, maka N yang terkandung dalam bokashi juga semakin banyak yang diterima oleh tanah. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan pupuk kandang ayam broiler memberikan pengaruh yang nyata terhadap pertumbuhan tanaman timun (Cucumis sativus L). Saran yang ditawarkan peneliti, sebaiknya penggunaan pupuk kandang ayam broiler lebih ditingkatkan untuk mengatasi kelangkaan dan mahalnya pupuk.
