Abstract

involvement of cadres, mothers and families in monitoring the health and growth and development of babies and toddlers is very important. Cadres, mothers and families are the first people to assist and help babies and toddlers. Monitoring babies and toddlers by cadres is very useful for screening children's conditions every day. If a child is in trouble or sick, immediately take him or her to a health worker or provide first action to reduce pain and even prevent the death of a toddler. The aim of this community service is to empower women, namely cadres, through training in daily monitoring of the growth and development of babies under five in Tarus Village, Central Kupang District, Kupang Regency. The methods used are lectures, training and mentoring related to daily monitoring of the growth and development of babies under five using the latest 2021 edition of the MCH book. In the 2021 MCH book there are daily monitoring instruments for babies 0-60 days and daily monitoring instruments 2-60 months. 85% of the cadres in Tarus Village who are involved in education and monitoring children's growth and development are aged 30-50 years. Cadres' knowledge about the growth and development of babies under five is minimal even though they are provided with MCH books. Community service activities include education and assistance in monitoring the growth and development of babies under five. There is an increase in cadres' knowledge and abilities regarding growth and development.

Abstract

Anemia is one of the health problems that is still a serious concern in Indonesia, especially in adolescent girls. Adolescent girls are included in the high-risk group of suffering from anemia because they are in a period of rapid growth and begin to experience menstruation, so the need for iron increases. Iron deficiency anemia in adolescents not only has an impact on physical conditions such as fatigue and low immunity, but also has an impact on reducing study concentration, academic achievement, and reproductive health in the future. Adolescent girls who suffer from anemia are at risk of developing anemia during pregnancy and have an impact on the growth and development of the fetus in the womb and have the potential to give birth to babies with stunting or low birth weight (BBLR). This study aims to find out the knowledge about anemia and compliance in consuming blood supplement tablets in adolescent girls in Pariti Village, Sulamu District, Kupang Regency. This study uses a descriptive design with a Cross Sectional approach. The population in this study is 35 adolescent girls with Purposive Sampling technique. Data analysis uses univariate frequency distribution. The results showed that most of the young women had good knowledge of anemia while most of the young women had a low level of adherence in consuming blood-boosting tablets.

Abstract

Anemia is a significant public health problem, especially in adolescent girls. The prevalence of anemia among adolescent girls globally is still high and is one of the main causes of low productivity and impaired physical and cognitive development. Adolescent girls are a vulnerable group to anemia because they menstruate every month and require higher iron intake. Anemia at this age can continue into pregnancy and increase the risk of pregnancy complications, premature birth, and low birth weight babies. This activity aims to increase adolescent girls' knowledge in efforts to prevent anemia and increase compliance in consuming Iron Supplement Tablets (TTD). The method used is through counseling. Partners in this activity are all adolescent girls in Pariti Village as many as 35 people. Knowledge evaluation uses pre-test and post-test questionnaires. The assessment results show that there is a difference in the average pre-test score of 67.4 (SD = 6.79) and the average post-test score of 89.1 (SD = 6.58). The results of statistical tests showed a significant increase in the knowledge of adolescent girls after being given educational materials about anemia and Iron Tablets (TTD) (p = 0.000; α < 0.05).

Abstract

Children enrolled in the Early Childhood Education (PAUD) program are children aged between two and six years, also known as preschoolers. Growth in children is a quantitative physical change, namely an increase in the size and number of cells and body tissues, which causes an increase in height, weight, and other physical changes in children. Monitoring children's growth is very important to identify nutritional problems because if a child's growth is not monitored properly, their nutritional status will not be properly monitored and if the child experiences abnormalities, it will not be able to be identified and treated early. A child's BMI status can provide an overview of the nutritional status of early childhood with classifications of underweight, normal nutrition (normal weight), at risk of overweight, and overnutrition (obesity). Nutritional problems involve many factors, one factor that can also influence is personal hygiene. Personal hygiene is the cleanliness and health of individuals aimed at preventing the emergence of diseases in oneself and others, both physically and psychologically. Personal hygiene includes the care of the scalp and hair, eyes, nose, ears, toenails and fingers, skin, and genital area. This underlies the need to monitor BMI and personal hygiene in children. The goal of this activity was to obtain an overview of the students' nutritional and personal hygiene status. The methods used were direct measurement of weight and height, observation of personal hygiene, and subsequent provision of information on how to maintain personal hygiene. The results showed that most students had good nutritional status, maintained good personal hygiene, and were very cooperative

Abstract

The health of pregnant women is one of the important indicators in determining the degree of public health, because it is directly related to maternal mortality rates (AKI) and infant mortality rates (AKB).  One of the promotive approaches that can be done to improve maternal health during pregnancy is through pregnancy exercises, which is a form of light physical exercise that aims to strengthen muscles, facilitate breathing, and prepare mothers for the delivery process. Pregnant women who regularly participate in gymnastics experience improved physical condition, reduced stress, and are more mentally prepared to face childbirth than those who do not. The purpose of this activity is to help pregnant women engage in pregnancy exercises as a means to increase their knowledge and promote maternal health.  The method used is through counseling.  The partners in this activity are all pregnant women in Oelnasi Village, totaling 10 people. Evaluation of knowledge using pre-test and post-test questionnaires. The results of the assessment showed that the average pre-test score was 69.3 (SD=6.98) and the average post-test score was 89.6 (SD=6.79). The results of the statistical test showed that there was a significant increase in the knowledge of pregnant women after the provision of educational materials about pregnancy exercises (p = 0.000; α < 0.05).

Abstract

Early childhood (0–6 years) is a critical period during which children's brain development occurs rapidly, reaching approximately 80% of adult capacity by the age of 3 years. This development is greatly influenced by stimulation from an early age, both cognitively, language, social-emotional, and motoric. Early stimulation has been proven to play a major role in maximizing children's development potential, preventing delays, and increasing readiness to enter primary education. Children receiving regular stimulation have higher cognitive development scores and a lower risk of delays. This research aims to determine the relationship between parental knowledge and attitudes and the behavior of stimulating children's growth and development at Posyandu Rindu Sejahtera, East Penfui Village. This research uses a quantitative design with a correlational analytical approach. The population in this study were all parents who had children aged 0–5 years and were registered as active participants at Posyandu Rindu Sejahtera, as many as 52 people, with a total population sample. Data analysis uses univariate analysis to describe the frequency distribution of each variable, and bivariate analysis using the Chi-Square test. The results of the research show that there is a significant relationship between parental knowledge and attitudes and the behavior of stimulating children's growth and development.
