Abstract

PT Pesona Arnos Betom is manufacturing company engaged in the field of general contractor and supplier wich produces paving blocks, udith, box culverts, kanstin, sirtu, sand, coral, dark ash, and basecous. One of its superior products is the K300 T-6 paving block with a total production in February-August 2022 of 5,683,800 units and a total defect of 892,560 units. The purpose of this study is to control quality, minimize defects, and provide suggestions for improving the quality of the K300 T-6 paving block production process. This study uses the Six Sigma method and Failure Mode Effect Analysis (FMEA). From the results of the study, it can be seen that the average sigma value based on total defects from February to August 2022 is 3.43 sigma, which means that it still has not met the target towards the six sigma standard. The FMEA method is used to find out that gouge defects are dominant. Proposed improvements that need to be made are tightening the SOP for pallet arrangement and holding a pallet arrangement checking section, monitoring the loading and unloading process carried out by employees using heavy equipment, re-checking the dosage of hardener using automatic scales before being put into the mixer, checking the old ash content when producing dark ash before entering the paving production stage, and setting up the mixer machine for automatic 8 minutes operation.Keywords – FMEA, Paving Block, Quality Control, Six Sigma

Abstract

PT XYZ is a manufacturing company that produces various types of industrial valves. Despite having entered the export market, the company continues to experience monthly fluctuations in order volumes due to the suboptimal use of data in formulating effective sales strategies. This study aims to identify association rules using the Apriori algorithm as the basis for sales recommendations. The analysis was conducted on transaction data from January 2024 to February 2025, using a minimum support threshold of 20% and a minimum confidence threshold of 65%, determined through exploratory analysis. The results yielded 14 first-level (L1) rules, 21 second-level (L2) rules, and 8 third-level (L3) rules, indicating associations between products that can inform cross-selling schemes and product sampling strategies. These patterns were used to design sales strategies, such as cross-selling and product bundling, to increase the average value per transaction, as well as product sampling to introduce less popular items. GV and CV products showed the strongest association, with a support value of 43%, a confidence level of 77%, and a lift value of 1.5—indicating a strong potential for increased sales when these products are offered together. These personalized strategy recommendations are expected to improve customer loyalty, expand market reach, and drive sustainable growth in the company’s sales volume.

Abstract

Biodiversitas adalah keragaman diantara makhluk hidup, dari berbagai sumber termasuk daratan, pesisir, lautan dan ekosistem perairan lainnya serta kompleksitas ekologis dimana mereka merupakan bagiannya. Ketidakpahaman masyarakat tentang keberagaman hayati merupakan masalah sentral yang perlu diatasi. Kurangnya informasi tentang tanaman lokal dan fungsinya dalam ekosistem dapat menyebabkan kurangnya apresiasi terhadap keanekaragaman hayati dan dampak negatif terhadap keseimbangan lingkungan. Maka dari itu, perlu adanya upaya yang kreatif dan edukatif untuk membangkitkan minat dan kepedulian terhadap biodiversitas. Tujuan utama kegiatan ini adalah meningkatkan pengetahuan masyarakat Kelurahan Condongcatur tentang biodiversitas tanaman lokal melalui implementasi papan nama tanaman. Manfaatnya melibatkan peningkatan kesadaran lingkungan, peningkatan pemahaman terhadap keberagaman hayati, dan mendorong partisipasi masyarakat dalam pelestarian tanaman lokal. Sehingga dengan adanya kegiatan ini, dapat membantu Masyarakat dalam memahami lebih dalam terkait suatu tanaman melalui manfaat yang dihasilkan dan nama latinnya. Peran mahasiswa Kuliah Kerja Nyata (KKN) Teknik industri dalam melibatkan kreativitasnya untuk meningkatkan kesadaran masyarakat terhadap biodiversitas menjadi esensial. Implementasi papan nama tanaman dianggap sebagai inovasi yang dapat membantu menciptakan hubungan yang lebih erat antara masyarakat dan lingkungan lokal mereka. Selain itu, papan nama disini nantinya akan berfungsi sebagai pengenal tanaman dan edukasi yang lebih terkait suatu tanaman tersebut.

Abstract

Quality control is a critical aspect of the textile industry, essential for maintaining product consistency. However, defects in yarn materials continue to persist, particularly during the warping process. This study investigates yarn defects at PT X using the Fault Tree Analysis (FTA) method, identifying 15 root causes and proposing corrective measures based on the 5W1H approach. The research specifically addresses defects in Tetoron Rayon (TR) yarn Ne 30, with a focus on Cross Defects, Defective Rolls, and Nglokor Rolls. The FTA method offers a structured approach to failure analysis, while the 5W1H method is employed to derive strategic corrective actions. The findings demonstrate that the probability of defect occurrence varies between the Direct and Sectional Warping processes. Cross Defects occur with probabilities of 0.1333% and 0.126%, Defective Rolls with probabilities of 0.159% and 0.243%, and Nglokor Rolls with probabilities of 1% and 0.171%, respectively. The analysis identifies 15 primary root causes contributing to these defects, which include machine-related failures, human error, and material inconsistencies. Based on these findings, the study recommends the implementation of preventive maintenance schedules, operator training programs, and a more rigorous adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs). The proposed improvements are expected to optimize the warping process and enhance the overall quality of the product.

Abstract

Agriculture plays an important role in the Indonesian economy, fertilizer is an important element in the development of the agricultural sector, especially urea fertilizer. PT. Damai Sejahtera, as one of the largest fertilizer producers in Indonesia, experienced waste in the urea fertilizer production process. In this study, lean six sigma was utilized. Using a lean approach, a reduction in non-value-added activities formed by the nine types of waste of 1360 to 1276 or 6.17% was achieved. However, using six sigma, it was found that the production process was not satisfactory as it resulted in many product defects with 36,331 DPMO and a sigma level of 3.32. Improvement suggestions to increase the sigma value were obtained through FMEA. Through this research, Process Cycle Efficiency was obtained from 74.85% to 80.35%.
