Abstract

Traditional medicine in Indonesia, as part of the archipelago's cultural heritage, has been the main choice in curing people's illnesses. Despite the growth of modern medical services, many still rely on traditional medicine, including reflexology, herbal drinks, aromatherapy, chiropractic therapy, cupping, and acupuncture. This study aims to examine and discuss traditional medicine in Indonesia, focusing on Battra (traditional medicine) and various types of traditional medicine such as reflexology, herbal drinks, aromatherapy, chiropractic therapy, cupping, acupuncture, as well as traditional medicine in the context of Islamic law. This research uses a descriptive qualitative approach through literature study. The results show that there is a link between the social relationship between traditional healers and patients as a legal relationship in terms of their respective interests. In addition, traditional medicine in Indonesia is not only seen as a cheap alternative, but also as an inseparable part of cultural identity and ancestral heritage that needs to be preserved. Health law also plays a role in regulating and protecting traditional medicine to prevent abuse and harmful practices.

Abstract

The Hospital Management Information System (HMIS) is an information technology platform that integrates all service workflows in a hospital to obtain precise and accurate information. The use of HMIS is considered essential for improving healthcare service quality and hospital operational efficiency. This study aims to explore the impact of HMIS on the efficiency and effectiveness of human resource (HR) performance in hospitals. The research employs a literature review method, collecting data from various relevant sources such as journals, books, and online resources, primarily from the last five years (2020–2024). The implementation of HMIS in hospitals has demonstrated improvements in HR performance efficiency and effectiveness. HMIS facilitates better data management, enhances coordination among work units, and accelerates healthcare service processes. However, effective implementation heavily relies on management support, workforce readiness, and the availability of adequate technological infrastructure. Investments in HMIS not only enhance HR performance but also contribute to the overall improvement of service quality for patients.

Abstract

The development of digital technology has brought significant changes in the strategic management of hospitals, especially in efforts to improve the quality, efficiency and competitiveness of health services. This study aims to examine various strategic management innovations implemented by hospitals in Indonesia and globally in the era of health digitalization. This research was conducted using a systematic literature study method of 25 scientific articles published in the period 2022-2025. The results of the review show that the application of technologies such as Hospital Management Information System (SIMRS), digital marketing, telemedicine, and artificial intelligence has had a positive impact on operational effectiveness, data transparency, and patient experience. However, the digital transformation process is also faced with challenges such as limited infrastructure, resistance to change from human resources, and regulations that are not yet fully adaptive. Innovation-based management strategies, cross-sector collaboration, and strengthened governance are the keys to success in facing the dynamics of the digital era. This study recommends the importance of HR capacity building, digital infrastructure investment, and policy updates as strategic steps to support the sustainability of hospital management innovation in the future.
