Abstract

Dalam dunia jurnalisme, penyusunan Terms of Reference (TOR) adalah langkah awal yang sangat penting dalam peliputan jurnalistik guna memastikan kualitas dan keberhasilan reportase berita. TOR adalah dokumen yang memuat tujuan, sasaran, dan batasan dari suatu reportase berita. Dalam proses penyusunan TOR, jurnalis harus mempertimbangkan berbagai faktor, termasuk identifikasi isu yang relevan, rencana riset, dan strategi wawancara dengan narasumber. TOR menjadi acuan liputan wartawan, dengan adanya TOR wartawan mempunyai rel dalam meliput serta lebih terarah. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah membantu jurnalis dalam memproduksi berita yang akurat, objektif, dan relevan, serta mempertahankan integritas dan reputasi media massa. Selain itu, ditemukannya berbagai faktor bahwa banyak para jurnalis muda maupun profesional kerap kali tak mengetahui terkait TOR dan penggunaannya. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif melalui wawancara dan studi kepustakaan. Pendekatan dengan metode tersebut dipilih karena peneliti percaya bahwa metode ini sangat sesuai dengan ciri-ciri masalah yang menjadi fokus penelitian, dengan objek penelitian Perusahaan Media Banten Pos, merupakan salah satu media lokal di Banten dan menjadi satu-satunya media lokal yang menyajikan berita mendalam atau indepth, hal inilah yang menjadi fokus penelitian terkhusus dalam penggunaan TOR pada saat peliputan. Penelitian ini juga dilakukan melalui observasi dan wawancara kepada pihak yang bersangkutan. Adapun hasil penelitian ini adalah media cetak Banten POS seringkali menggunakan TOR (Terms of Reference) sebagai panduan umum untuk memastikan kualitas dan keberhasilan reportase beritanya terkhusus pada berita-berita peliputan indepth dan investigasi. In the world of journalism, the preparation of Terms of Reference (TOR) is a very important first step in journalistic coverage to ensure the quality and success of news reporting. TOR is a document that contains the goals, objectives and limitations of a news report. In the process of drafting the TOR, journalists must consider various factors, including the identification of relevant issues, research plans, and interview strategies with sources. The TOR is a reference for journalists' coverage, with the TOR journalists have a rail in covering and are more directed. The purpose of this study is to assist journalists in producing accurate, objective and relevant news, as well as maintaining the integrity and reputation of the mass media. In addition, it was found that many young and professional journalists are often unaware of the TOR and its use. This research uses qualitative methods through interviews and literature studies. The approach with this method was chosen because the researcher believes that this method is very suitable for the characteristics of the problem that is the focus of the research, with the object of research Banten Pos Media Company, which is one of the local media in Banten and is the only local media that presents in-depth or indepth news, this is the focus of research specifically in the use of TOR during coverage. This research was also conducted through observation and interviews with the parties concerned. The results of this study are that Banten POS print media often uses TOR (Terms of Reference) as a general guide to ensure the quality and success of its news reportage, especially in indepth and investigative reporting news.

Abstract

This study aims to uncover the dynamics of discourse on "career women" on Instagram using the Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA) approach by Norman Fairclough. This approach consists of three dimensions of analysis: text (linguistic content), discursive practice (the process of text production and consumption), and social practice (broader social context). The findings reveal that the representation of career women on Instagram is complex, reflecting contradictions between narratives of women's empowerment and the pressures of traditional gender norms. Dominant narratives often portray career women as ideal multitaskers, but implicitly reinforce stereotypes about domestic responsibilities. This study concludes that social media discourse plays a significant role in shaping public perceptions of career women and highlights the need to construct more inclusive and unbiased narratives.

Abstract

The utilization of an interrogative approach is vital within the framework of educational progression. Participating in critical thinking can be advantageous for students as it helps stimulate their cognitive processes. The implementation of an interrogative strategy by the teacher is crucial in the classroom environment. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to ascertain the various questioning techniques used by an English vocational school teacher in Yogyakarta when interacting with Grade 10 students. Furthermore, the study aimed to ascertain the most commonly employed questioning technique as well as the least frequently used tactic by the teacher. The current study utilized a descriptive-qualitative research methodology. The data was obtained through the application of observation and interviews. The observation was to see the different types of inquiries presented and the general dynamics inside the classroom. Meanwhile, the interview was to obtain the teacher's viewpoint regarding the question methodology implemented in their teaching practices. The investigation has revealed several inquiry techniques that are dependent on the content of the inquiries. The strategies encompass probing questions (57.1%), factual questions (3.5%), divergent questions (3.5%), higher-order questions (14.2%), emotive questions (10.7%), and structuring questions (10.7%). The penetrating inquiry is the most successful approach for questioning, whereas the factual question and the divergent question are the least effective strategies.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the academic communication strategies implemented by lecturers and students of the Faculty of Da'wah UIN Sultan Maulana Hasanuddin (SMH) Banten in increasing the effectiveness of campus da'wah. Using a qualitative approach and case study design, data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and documentation of da'wah communication media. The results of the study indicate that the dialogic approach in learning, integration of digital media.This strategy not only improves students' communication competence, but also expands the reach of da'wah which is contextual and adaptive to the development of the times. The challenges faced include low media literacy of some students and limited digital infrastructure, but can be overcome through continuous training and mentoring. This study recommends strengthening the da'wah curriculum based on strategic communication competencies and developing digital da'wah media.

Abstract

Penelitian ini menganalisis representasi perempuan dan kekerasan simbolik dalam film Before, Now&Then (Nana) karya Kamila Andini, menggunakan pendekatan semiotika Roland Barthes. Film ini mengisahkan perjuangan batin Nana, seorang perempuan Sunda pasca-revolusi 1960-an, yang menghadapi tekanan tradisi, patriarki, dan trauma sejarah. Analisis semiotika Barthes—meliputi denotasi, konotasi, dan mitos—membantu membongkar bagaimana film ini mereproduksi dan sekaligus mengkritik ideologi patriarki. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa film ini menggunakan keheningan dan ruang domestik (rumah dan dapur) sebagai simbol kekerasan simbolik Pierre Bourdieu, yang bekerja secara halus untuk membatasi peran dan suara perempuan. Namun, film ini juga menampilkan perlawanan yang subtil melalui karakter Nana yang "kuat dalam diamnya" serta solidaritas antarperempuan (Nana dan Ino) yang menjadi strategi bertahan dan emansipasi. Secara keseluruhan, film ini tidak hanya berfungsi sebagai hiburan, tetapi juga sebagai media komunikasi budaya yang merekam trauma kolektif dan menantang narasi sejarah dominan yang sering membungkam pengalaman perempuan.

Abstract

Journalistic communities play a strategic role in shaping young journalists, one of which is Generasi Radar Banten. This study aims to analyze the dynamics of the Generasi Radar Banten community in guiding its members in writing news and articles, identify the training methods used, and examine the challenges faced in the journalistic learning process. This research employs a qualitative approach with a case study method. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observations, and document analysis related to the community’s activities. The findings reveal that the community has a structured mentoring system through workshops, discussions, and field practice in news coverage and writing. The applied learning methods adhere to journalistic principles such as the inverted pyramid, feature writing, and editing techniques. Challenges encountered include limited resources, varying skill levels among members, and adaptation to digital media changes. Nevertheless, the community has successfully enhanced members' writing skills and expanded their professional networks. In conclusion, Generasi Radar Banten plays a significant role in training young journalists by providing effective learning programs. This study recommends strengthening the mentoring system and adapting to media technology developments to improve the quality of learning in journalistic communities.

Abstract

Campus organizations are a strategic forum for developing student leadership, not only from a technical aspect, but also in terms of effective interpersonal communication. Leadership in a college environment has its own complexity because it involves individuals with diverse academic backgrounds, maturity levels, and goals. This study aims to understand the role of interpersonal communication in supporting leadership effectiveness in student organizations, especially in the Scout organization at UIN SMH Banten. Interpersonal communication that is two-way, inclusive, and empathetic can increase group cohesiveness, member participation, and the effectiveness of work program implementation. Strategies such as active listening, the use of adaptive communication media, and a relational approach to leadership have been shown to contribute to creating a democratic and productive organizational atmosphere. In addition, challenges such as miscommunication can be overcome through a systematic information documentation system

Abstract

This research discusses the use of TikTok as a medium for da'wah among the younger generation, which is an integral part of the development of da'wah communication in the digital era. With its engaging short video format, TikTok offers preachers the opportunity to reach a wider audience. However, there are challenges related to communication ethics and the substance of da'wah that need to be overcome to maintain the relevance and accuracy of the message. The aim of this research is to analyze how the creativity of da'wah content can be integrated with the ethical principles of Islamic communication, as well as identifying the impacts and challenges faced. Findings show that 70 percent of respondents use TikTok for more than an hour every day, and 65 percent believe this platform is effective as a medium for preaching. However, challenges such as the spread of invalid information and the commercialization of da'wah still exist. This research recommends the need for interactive communication strategies and collaboration with experts to ensure the accuracy and integrity of da'wah content. With a wise approach, the use of TikTok can be an effective tool for spreading peaceful and inclusive Islamic values.

Abstract

Social conflict in the academic environments is a phenomenon that frequently occurs in student interactions. This research aims to analyze the role of interpersonal communication in handling social conflicts that occur in class 4A of the Islamic Communication and Broadcasting Study Program at UIN Sultan Maulana Hasanuddin Banten. The research method used is a qualitative approach with data collection techniques through observation, and in-depth interviews. The research subjects were 36 students from class 4A KPI. The results show that effective interpersonal communication plays an important role in resolving social conflicts through three main aspects namely communication openness that enables understanding of different perspectives, active listening skills that reduce misunderstandings, and empathy that builds bridges of understanding between individuals. Interpersonal communication strategies that have proven effective include open dialogue, communication mediation, and the formation of class discussion forums. This research concludes that structured and continuous interpersonal communication is able to transform destructive conflicts into constructive conflicts that encourage social and academic growth of students.

Abstract

The development of digital technology has revolutionized how humans can communicate, including in Islamic preaching activities. Preaching, which used to be conventional, has now expanded into the digital realm through various social media platforms, one of which is Instagram. The @memeislam.id account has succeeded in implementing framing elements, namely defining problems, identifying causes, providing moral assessments, and offering solutions in conveying a message about Islam in a light, communicative, and contextual way. By combining humor, attractive visuals, and popular language, this account is able to create strong emotional resonance and encourage spiritual reflection among the audience. The success of this strategy is also shown by the high level of audience interaction in the form of reflective comments and emotional involvement.
