Abstract

This study aims to identify and analyze the readiness of learning culinary practices at universities in the digital industry 4.0 era. The digital industry 4.0 era has had a significant impact on various sectors, including education and the culinary industry. As part of culinary education, learning about culinary practices needs to adapt to technological developments and current trends. This research will involve the PKK Department of Manado State University as a research location and focus on culinary education programs. The research method used is a survey and structured interviews. A survey will be conducted to collect data on available digital infrastructure, human resources involved in teaching culinary practices, and the technological knowledge and skills possessed by teachers and students. Interviews will be conducted with teaching staff, students, and representatives from the culinary industry to gain deeper insight into the challenges and opportunities faced in learning culinary practices in the digital industry 4.0 era. The collected data will be analyzed qualitatively using the thematic analysis method. The results of this study are expected to provide a better understanding of the readiness of learning culinary practices at universities in the digital industry 4.0 era. It is hoped that the findings of this study can provide valuable information for universities and other culinary education institutions to improve the curriculum and infrastructure for teaching culinary practice. This research can also provide recommendations for the culinary industry to adapt to changes that occur in the digital industry 4.0 era and prepare graduates with skills relevant to current industry demands.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis hubungan antara keterampilan menggambar desain busana dengan minat menjadi desainer pada mahasiswa Konsentrasi Tata Busana Jurusan Pendidikan Kesejahteraan Keluarga Fakultas Teknik Universitas Negeri Manado. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif korelasional dengan populasi sebanyak 43 mahasiswa dan sampel 30 mahasiswa yang dipilih melalui teknik random sampling. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah angket skala Likert. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan adanya hubungan positif antara keterampilan menggambar desain busana dengan minat menjadi desainer. Keterampilan menggambar desain busana berkontribusi sebesar 27,4% terhadap minat mahasiswa, sementara 72,6% dipengaruhi oleh faktor lain. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa keterampilan teknis menjadi salah satu faktor penting yang memengaruhi minat mahasiswa untuk berkarier di bidang fashion, meskipun bukan satu-satunya faktor yang dominan.

Abstract

This study explores the integration of information technology (IT) in optimizing educational management within the Family Welfare Department of a vocational higher education institution. Using a qualitative case study approach, data were collected through semi-structured interviews, direct observations, and document analysis involving department heads, lecturers, administrative staff, and students. Thematic analysis was applied to identify key strategies, supporting factors, challenges, and solutions related to IT adoption. Findings reveal that IT integration improves administrative efficiency, enhances curriculum management, and fosters better communication among stakeholders. Key enablers include leadership commitment, ongoing training, and adequate infrastructure. However, challenges such as limited human resources, resistance to change, and unstable internet connectivity persist. The study recommends a phased implementation strategy, targeted professional development, and policy support to strengthen IT-based management. This research contributes to the understanding of technology-enhanced educational management in vocational settings, offering practical insights for similar departments seeking digital transformation.
