This study focuses on the importance of environmentally conscious character education in developing elementary school students’ awareness, attitudes, and behaviors toward environmental conservation from an early age. The increasing complexity of environmental problems requires educational approaches that not only emphasize knowledge acquisition but also foster positive character development. Elementary schools play a strategic role in instilling environmental values through classroom learning, daily habits, teacher role modeling, school culture, and sustainable environmental programs. Therefore, this study aims to examine the implementation of environmentally conscious character education in elementary schools based on findings from previously published studies. This research employed a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) using a qualitative descriptive approach. Data were collected from relevant scientific articles obtained through various academic databases. The literature selection process followed the PRISMA framework, including identification, screening, eligibility assessment, and inclusion stages. The selected studies were analyzed using thematic analysis to identify implementation practices, strategies, supporting and inhibiting factors, and their impacts on students. The findings reveal that environmentally conscious character education is implemented through the integration of environmental values into learning activities, habituation programs, teacher role models, school culture development, and environmental initiatives such as Adiwiyata, school greening, waste management, waste banks, and routine cleaning activities. These practices positively enhance students’ ecological awareness, attitudes, and environmentally responsible behaviors in schools.
