Abstract

Foot odor or bromhidrosis occurs due to the activity of bacteria that convert leucine in sweat into isovaleric acid which results in unpleasant odors. Honey pineapple skin (Ananas comosus [L.] Merr) is generally waste, whereas honey pineapple skin is known to contain antibacterial compounds. The aim of this study is to determine the potential of honey pineapple peel as an active ingredient in footspray based on the results of phytochemical screening and physical evaluation. Honey pineapple peel was extracted by maceration method using ethanol 70% then phytochemical test. Footspray preparations were made with various extract concentrations of 0%, 25%, 35% and 45% then tested for organoleptic, pH, specific gravity, viscosity, homogeneity, spreadability, and dry time during storage period of 0, 7, 14 and 21 days at room temperature. This study showed that honey pineapple peel extract contained flavonoids, tannins, phenols and alkaloids. The footspray has brown color with honey pineapple scent, pH of 5.71-6.37, specific gravity 1.05-1.09 g/mL, viscosity 7.2-13.2 cP, spreadability 6.67-7.60 cm, and the dry time is 4-5 minutes. Footspray containing honey pineapple peel extract with concentrations of 25%, 35% and 45% has a pH value that is safe for the skin, with good specific gravity, viscosity, homogeneity and spreadability, also stable during storage. Formula 1 (25% extract concentration) tends to be preferred because its texture is soft and not too sticky when applied to the skin when compared with formula 2 and 3.

The purpose of this study was to determine the characteristics of patients including gender, age, education level, duration of illness, comorbidities on the level of drug compliance in type 2 diabetes mellitus patients. Method: This type of research is descriptive research with a cross-sectional approach. Data collection using the Morisky Medication Adherence Scale-8 (MMAS-8) questionnaire to see the level of compliance in Diabetes Mellitus patients. Results: The level of drug compliance in type II diabetes mellitus patients at RST TK II dr. Soedono Magelang is low compliance 29 patients (34.25%), moderate compliance 34 patients (42.5%) and high compliance 17 patients (21.25%). Conclusion: There is a significant relationship between age, education status, duration of suffering and also comorbidities with drug compliance in type 2 Diabetes Mellitus patients at RST dr. Soedjono Magelang.

Abstract

Background: Hypertension is one of the categories of Non Communicable Disease that has a high morbidity and mortality rate every year and is commonly experienced by those in the productive age group. Hypertension generally occurs without symptoms, which is why it is categorized as The Silent Killer or The Silent Disease. According to Riskesdas data (2018), hypertension cases in Indonesia account for 37% with a total death toll of 427,218 cases. The prevalences of hypertension in Central Java is at 37.57%. In Semarang City, the prevalence ranks first, with cases reaching 19.56%. Miroto Health Center is ranked 17th in hypertension cases among 37 districts in Semarang City, with 5,050 cases recorded in the 2022 NCD recap data of the health centers in the city. Factors that contribute to uncontrolled blood pressure in hypertension include age, educational background, lifestyle, medication adherence, and blood pressure control. Based on research by Laili et al., (2022), it was found 32.3% of hypertension patients didn’t routinely take their medication, which is part of 34.1% of hypertension sufferers. Non-adherence to medication worsens the patient's condition, prolongs treatment, and increases the risk of death. Therefore, hypertension can be controlled through medication adherence efforts, with the family playing a role as the Medication Adherence Supervisor (PMO). Methods: The research design used is quantitative correlational research with a cross-sectional approach. The number of samples in this study was 34. Results: The results of the research study showed that was a strong relationship between PMO (Medications Adherence Supervision) on medications adherence in hypertensions patients at Miroto Health Center. Conclusion: The role of the family as a PMO at Miroto Community Health Center influences medication adherence in hypertension patients. The involvement of the family as a PMO at Miroto Community Health Center shows a strong correlation with medication adherence in hypertension patients.
