Abstract

Buah parijoto (Medinilla speciosa blume) merupakan buah lokal yang benyak ditemukan di Desa Demaan. Buah parijoto memiliki beberapa aktivitas farmakologis seperti antioksidan, penurunan kadar glukosa, serta berkhasiat sebagai agen fertilitas. Tujuan dari kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah untuk meningkatkan keterampilan dan pengetahuan berwirausaha melalui produksi nutrasetika minuman probiotik dari buah parijoto, sehingga mampu meningkatkan ketahanan pangan dan kemandirian finansial keluarga terdampak Covid-19. Pelaksanaan pengabdian dilakukan melalui beberapa tahapan yaitu FGD dengan mitra, sosialisasi, demonstrasi dan workshop pembuatan minuman probiotik, pelatihan pembuatan kemasan, pelatihan manajemen usaha, serta monitoring dan evaluasi. Hasil pelaksanaan kegiatan menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pengetahuan peserta kegiatan sebesar 80%, sehingga kegiatan pengabdian ini telah berlangsung dengan baik sesuai prosedur.

Abstract

Pandan leaves (Pandanus amaryllifolius Roxb.) possess various biological activities due to their secondary metabolites, including flavonoids, alkaloids, phenolics, saponins, and triterpenoids/steroids. This study aimed to evaluate the antibacterial and antifungal activities of pandan leaf extracts, fractions, and isolates against Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli, and Pityrosporum ovale, as well as to optimize surfactants in shampoo formulations. The experimental design used a post-test-only control group. Samples were processed through maceration, followed by fractionation and isolation using the KLT-P method. Antibacterial and antifungal activities were assessed using the agar well diffusion method. The most effective antibacterial activity against E. coli was observed in the n-hexane isolate at 700 ppm, with an inhibition zone of 19.6 mm, classified as strong. For S. aureus, the 100% water fraction produced an inhibition zone of 9.96 mm, classified as weak. The ethanol extract showed antifungal activity against P. ovale with an inhibition zone of 6.29 mm, categorized as moderate. Shampoo formulation optimization using sodium lauryl sulfate and cocamide DEA resulted in an ideal ratio of 0.235 to 0.764. This combination produced a shampoo with acceptable physical characteristics, including a pH of 5.71, foam height of 2.56 cm, and viscosity of 899.9 cps, all of which met the standard requirements.

Abstract

Desa Gedangan adalah salah satu desa di Kabupaten Jepara. Mayoritas mata pencaharian masyarakat Desa Gedangan adalah buruh dan pedagang, dimana mata pencaharian tersebut terdampak oleh adanya COVID-19. Hal ini menyebabkan pendapatan penduduk berkurang dari sebelumnya sehingga dilakukan pelatihan pembuatan sabun organik padat temulawak untuk membantu meningkatkan perekonomian masyarakat. Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan ibu-ibu PKK Desa Gedangan dalam membuat sabun padat temulawak. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat dilakukan dengan metode penyuluhan dan pelatihan dengan melibatkan ibu-ibu PKK. Evaluasi dilakukan dengan cara memberikan kuesioner dan dianalisis secara kuantitatif. Hasil pengabdian ini menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pengetahuan ibu-ibu PKK Desa Gedangan sebesar 38% dan keterampilan sebesar 45%. Kesimpulan dari pengabdian ini adalah adany peningkatan pengetahuan dan keterampilan setelah dilakukan kegiatan pengabdian. Pengabdian ini penting untuk meningkatkan keterampilan PKK di Desa Gedangan, Kabupaten Jepara dan meningkatkan motivasi ibu-ibu PKK untuk berwirausaha sehingga dapat mandiri secara ekonomi.

Abstract

Background: The leaves of Putri malu (Mimosa pudica L.) contain flavonoid compounds which act as antioxidants to prevent and reduce the effects of free radicals on the skin. The potency of this ingredient is formulated into a peel-off mask with a PVA gel base because it can help penetrate the active substance into the skin by forming a strong and plastic film that provides good contact between the drug and the skin. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of PVA concentration on the physical properties and antioxidant activity of the Mimosa Pudica L. ethanolic extract peel-off gel mask. Methods: The leaves of Putri malu were extracted by maceration using 70% ethanol and then peel-off mask preparations were made with PVA concentrations of 8%, 10% and 12%. The masks were tested for physical properties including organoleptic tests, pH strength tests, viscosity and dry time tests as well as antioxidant activity. The data obtained was then analyzed using One Way ANOVA and Kruskall Wallis. Results: EEDPM Peel-Off Mask formula 1 produced an IC50 of 5.505 μg/ml, formula 2 1.088 μg/ml and formula 3 0.606 μg/ml which means that the three formulas have strong antioxidant activity. Conclusion: The higher the concentration of PVA in the ekstrak etanolik daun putri malu (EEDPM) peel-off gel mask, the stronger the antioxidant activity.

Abstract

Background: The widely cultivated melinjo leaf, or Gentum L genome, is the most valuable commodities cause it contains phenolic chemicals that have antioxidant properties. It is possible to get phenolic chemicals from melinjo leaves by macerating them in ethanol, typically at room temperature. By raising the temperature and length of the extraction process, the yield-maximizing extraction process can be hastened. Methods: The objective of this study is to ascertain the antioxidant activity of melinjo leaves that have been ethanol extracted at 45, 60, and 75 °C. For each temperature change, extraction was done using 96% ethanol (1:10, w/v) for 30 and 45 minutes. The yield, phytochemical assay, total phenolic, and antioxidant activity using the The CUPRAC technique is the variables tested in this study. Results: According to research findings, temperature and extraction time have an impact on yield, content phenolic total, and antioxidant activity. An extract with the maximum antioxidant activity and the consistent phenol content 105.97±5.53 mg GAE/ml and Ic50 of 59.7953 was produced after 45 minutes of extraction at 60°C, but the yield was only 2.22%.
