Abstract

Learning and getting used to Arabic at the Daarul Ma'arif Islamic Boarding School in Pasawahan Purwakarta is characterized by prominent differences in the introverted and extroverted personalities of the students. These differences directly or indirectly influence their achievements in acquiring Arabic language skills. This research aims to identify the personalities of students between introverts and extroverts, then find out their impact on the acquisition of Arabic, as well as the problems faced by both. The research method used is descriptive qualitative with data collection steps namely observation, interviews, questionnaires and documentation. The results obtained from this research are that students with introverted personalities experience obstacles in acquiring Arabic due to very high levels of shyness resulting in difficulties in practicing Arabic directly, this is also influenced by their lack of social interaction so that their mastery and experience of vocabulary not fulfilled well. Students with extroverted personalities also experience problems in language acquisition, they are hampered by mastering vocabulary and also understanding and mastering Arabic language rules.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the development of the times which greatly affect the morals, behavior, ethics and morals of the student party caused by the ease of accessing the internet so that phenomena, news, and events can be obtained easily. In this case, schools play an important role in balancing the development of the times through moral education. This research is based on Roykan's theory which states that the book of Akhlak lil banin is suitable to be implemented with the development of adolescent children. This study uses a qualitative approach with a field research methodology. Data collection techniques used are in-depth interviews, observation, and documentary studies. The analysis technique uses data reduction, data presentation, and conclusions. While testing the validity of the data using the source triangulation technique and the triangulation technique. The results of the study show that: 1) Teachers of the book of Akhlak lil banin have met the qualifications of teacher competence even though they are not yet fully optimal. 2) The essence of the book Akhlak lil banin volume one contains the morals that a child must have, volume two contains the obligations of a child and volume three contains the etiquette that a child must do. 3) The book of lil banin morality is very influential and acts as a behavioral controller gradually from class VII to class IX.

Abstract

This study aims to know the effectiveness of applying a Teams-Games-Tournament (TGT)-type cooperative learning model with flash card media in improving students’ understanding of al-arqām material on Arabic language learning. Research uses Classroom Action Research (CRA) method implemented in two cycles, with subjects 25 students of grade X MA YPPA Cipulus. Each cycle consists of four stages, namely planning, execution, observation, and reflection. Instruments used included student engagement observation sheets, field notes, and learning outcome tests. The results of the study showed that applying TGT with the help of flash cards can increase students’ activity and understanding significantly. In cycle I, the average student engagement reached 62.8%, while in cycle II it increased to 85.6%, with a percentage increase of 36.3%. This improvement was supported by a more interactive learning atmosphere, more equal student participation, as well as the use of flash card media that facilitated students in understanding Arabic numerals (al-arqām). Thus, it can be concluded that the application of TGT-type cooperative learning model with flash card media is effective in improving students’ understanding of al-arqām material in Arabic language learning in Grade X MA YPPA Cipulus.
