Abstract

This research aims to evaluate the effectiveness of the Teaching at the Right Level (TaRL) approach in improving student learning outcomes by paying attention to achievement levels. The problem raised is how the division of students' achievement levels (high, medium and low) can influence understanding and achievement of learning outcomes through adjusting the level of difficulty of the questions. The method used is classroom action research by dividing students into three groups based on the level of student achievement. Each group is given questions adjusted to the level of difficulty relevant to the level of the students. Learning outcome data was collected through pre-test and post-test evaluations to measure the increase in students' abilities after implementing this approach. The research results show that the application of TaRL by dividing achievement levels and adjusting the difficulty level of questions significantly improves student learning outcomes. The group with low achievement levels showed significant progress in understanding the material, while the groups with high and medium achievement levels also experienced positive improvements. This research recommends using the TaRL approach in learning practices to optimize learning outcomes at various levels of student achievement.

Abstract

This study aims to improve the reading literacy skills of grade V students through the application of HOTS questioning techniques in Indonesian language learning. The background of this study is the low understanding of students in reading and answering questions related to reading texts. The method used was classroom action research (PTK) consisting of two cycles. Each cycle includes planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The research subjects were 32 grade V students of SD 001 Merdeka, with data collection techniques through observation, reading ability tests, and questionnaires.  The results showed that the application of HOTS questions significantly improved students' reading literacy skills. The average pre-test score before the action was 65, while the post-test after cycle II increased to 80. In addition, students showed increased participation and active involvement during learning. The results of this study show that the HOTS questioning technique is effective in improving students' reading literacy. It is hoped that the results of this study can be a reference for teachers in applying interactive and interesting learning methods.

Abstract

Pelatihan ini dilatarbelakangi oleh pentingnya literasi bahasa sebagai fondasi pendidikan dasar, serta tantangan yang dihadapi guru dalam mengajar di kelas yang heterogen. Pelatihan pengembangan media literasi bahasa berdiferensiasi bagi guru sekolah dasar di Kabupaten Sukabumi bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan guru dalam mengembangkan media pembelajaran yang sesuai dengan kebutuhan dan karakteristik siswa yang beragam. Melalui berbagai kegiatan praktis, seperti pengembangan media pembelajaran yang bervariasi, diharapkan guru mampu mengakomodasi perbedaan kemampuan, minat, dan gaya belajar peserta didik. Metode yang digunakan dalam pengabdian ini adalah metode pelatihan. Hasil pelatihan ini menunjukkan bahwa guru sekolah dasar di kabupaten Sukabumi mampu mengembangkan media literasi bahasa berdiferensiasi dengan baik.
