Abstract

This research aims to evaluate the effectiveness of the Teaching at the Right Level (TaRL) approach in improving student learning outcomes by paying attention to achievement levels. The problem raised is how the division of students' achievement levels (high, medium and low) can influence understanding and achievement of learning outcomes through adjusting the level of difficulty of the questions. The method used is classroom action research by dividing students into three groups based on the level of student achievement. Each group is given questions adjusted to the level of difficulty relevant to the level of the students. Learning outcome data was collected through pre-test and post-test evaluations to measure the increase in students' abilities after implementing this approach. The research results show that the application of TaRL by dividing achievement levels and adjusting the difficulty level of questions significantly improves student learning outcomes. The group with low achievement levels showed significant progress in understanding the material, while the groups with high and medium achievement levels also experienced positive improvements. This research recommends using the TaRL approach in learning practices to optimize learning outcomes at various levels of student achievement.

Abstract

This study aims to improve the reading literacy skills of grade V students through the application of HOTS questioning techniques in Indonesian language learning. The background of this study is the low understanding of students in reading and answering questions related to reading texts. The method used was classroom action research (PTK) consisting of two cycles. Each cycle includes planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The research subjects were 32 grade V students of SD 001 Merdeka, with data collection techniques through observation, reading ability tests, and questionnaires.  The results showed that the application of HOTS questions significantly improved students' reading literacy skills. The average pre-test score before the action was 65, while the post-test after cycle II increased to 80. In addition, students showed increased participation and active involvement during learning. The results of this study show that the HOTS questioning technique is effective in improving students' reading literacy. It is hoped that the results of this study can be a reference for teachers in applying interactive and interesting learning methods.

Abstract

Pelatihan ini dilatarbelakangi oleh pentingnya literasi bahasa sebagai fondasi pendidikan dasar, serta tantangan yang dihadapi guru dalam mengajar di kelas yang heterogen. Pelatihan pengembangan media literasi bahasa berdiferensiasi bagi guru sekolah dasar di Kabupaten Sukabumi bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan guru dalam mengembangkan media pembelajaran yang sesuai dengan kebutuhan dan karakteristik siswa yang beragam. Melalui berbagai kegiatan praktis, seperti pengembangan media pembelajaran yang bervariasi, diharapkan guru mampu mengakomodasi perbedaan kemampuan, minat, dan gaya belajar peserta didik. Metode yang digunakan dalam pengabdian ini adalah metode pelatihan. Hasil pelatihan ini menunjukkan bahwa guru sekolah dasar di kabupaten Sukabumi mampu mengembangkan media literasi bahasa berdiferensiasi dengan baik.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh peserta didik yang masih kurang terampil untuk berbicara di depan kelas, sehingga mempengaruhi cara mereka menggunakan gestur, pelafalan, dan pengolahan kata saat berbicara. Berdasarkan permasalahan tersebut diberikan perlakuan berupa metode debat aktif berbantuan media saloocars dengan proses Lesson Study . Penelitian ini adalah pendekatan metode campuran dengan deskriptif kualitatif dan praeksperimen one group pretest-postest yang dilakukan dalam dua siklus Lesson Study . Instrumen yang digunakan adalah observasi, wawancara, dan studi dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan pretest pada siklus 1 nilai minimum yang diperoleh peserta didik adalah 9 dan nilai maksimumnya adalah 24 dengan nilai rata - rata adalah 14.29. Nilai ini meningkat pada siklus 2 yaitu nilai minimum yang diperoleh adalah 20 dan nilai maksimum 36 dengan nilai rata - rata 30.21. Berdasarkan pengujian n-gain siklus 1 mendapatkan nilai rata - rata 0,31 termasuk dalam kategori keefektifan sedang, lalu nilai rata - rata n-gain pada siklus 2 meningkat menjadi 0,73 termasuk dalam keefektifan tinggi. Berdasarkan hal tersebut, dapat dikatakan metode debat aktif berbantuan media saloocars dengan Lesson Study efektif untuk meningkatkan keterampilan peserta berbicara didik kelas V sekolah dasar.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the low level of students' reading comprehension skills. This condition is reflected in the achievement of students' knowledge, attitudes, and skills that have not met the expected standards, so that development efforts are needed. One solution offered is the innovation of interactive learning media that can support the improvement of students' reading comprehension skills. This study aims to develop a Bibliofil application based on the SQ4R method as a means to improve the reading comprehension skills of 5th grade students. The type of research used is design and development (DnD) with the ADDIE model developed by Dick and Carey (1996), which includes five stages: 1) analysis, 2) design, 3) development, 4) implementation, and 5) evaluation. Data collection techniques include pre-research: observation, work logs and questionnaires, and during the research: tests and non-tests, with data analysis using qualitative and quantitative descriptive approaches. The results of the study indicate that the Bibliofil application was successfully developed by integrating learning objectives and reading comprehension indicators, and activities in the application are aligned with the steps of the SQ4R method. Based on expert validation, the application received an average score in the excellent category. Product implementation demonstrated improved learning outcomes with a high N-Gain rating for knowledge, moderate for attitudes, and excellent for skills. Therefore, it can be concluded that the Bibliofil application is effective in improving students' reading comprehension skills.

Abstract

Abstract Media and platforms are important components of scientific literacy learning in implementing the Merdeka curriculum in elementary schools. This community service activity aims to disseminate the use of media and platforms to strengthen scientific literacy in implementing the independent curriculum in elementary schools. The method used is socialization, which includes several stages: identifying problems and needs, determining training topics, and evaluating. This activity was attended by 60 teachers in Kuningan Regency. In terms of process, the implementation of community service was conducive at both the online and offline stages of implementing activities. Participants were very enthusiastic about participating in question-and-answer activities, practices, and presentations on media use. All participants developed learning media and presented it in front of other participants. The success of implementing this community service is assessed from the implementation process and the output, where there is an increase in teacher understanding regarding scientific literacy and the use of media and platforms to strengthen scientific literacy skills. Keywords: science literacy media and platforms, merdeka curriculum, elementary schools Abstrak Media dan platform merupakan komponen penting pembelajaran literasi sains dalam implementasi kurikulum merdeka di sekolah dasar. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk mendiseminasikan penggunaan media dan platform penguatan literasi sains dalam implementasi kurikulum merdeka di sekolah dasar. Metode yang digunakan dalam kegiatan pengabdian ini yaitu sosialisasi mencakup beberapa tahapan yaitu identifikasi permasalahan dan kebutuhan, penentuan topik pelatihan, dan evaluasi. Kegiatan ini diikuti oleh 60 guru di Kabupaten Kuningan. Dari segi proses, pelaksanaan kegiatan pengabdian berlangsung kondusif dan lancar baik pada tahap pelaksanaan kegiatan daring maupun luring. Peserta sangat antusias berpartisipasi dalam kegiatan tanya jawab, praktik, dan presentasi penggunaan media. Semua peserta turut andil dalam mengembangkan media pembelajaran dan mempresentasikannya di depan peserta yang lain. Keberhasilan pelaksanaan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini selain dinilai dari proses pelaksanaan juga dinilai dari output pengabdian dimana adanya peningkatan pemahaman guru terkait literasi sains serta penggunaan media maupun platform penguatan kemampuan literasi sains.
