Abstract

This research aims to determine the feasibility of video tutorial learning media in single application technique virgin hair coloring for beauty students at AKP Galang Vocational School. This research uses research and development methods), and aims to develop and test a product produced for learning media. The research stages are conducting needs analysis, product design, product validation, product testing and final production. The validation stage is divided into two, namely material validation and media validation, material validation is carried out by three material experts, and media validation is carried out by three media experts. The research results show: (1) Students stated that 87% needed video tutorial media, (2) Teachers stated that 98% needed video tutorial media, (3) Expert test material for single application virgin hair coloring technique was in exellent criteria (96%), (4) Media expert testing of video tutorial products is in excellent criteria (95%), (5) Trials in small groups are in excellent criteria (90%), (6) Trials in medium groups are in excellent criteria (92%), (7) Trials in large groups were in excellent criteria (95%). The results concluded that the video tutorial on virgin hair coloring with the single application technique was declared feasible and could be considered for use in learning activities by teachers and students.

Abstract

This study aims to (1) Develop interactive Flash 8-based learning media for the Introduction to Culinary Arts course, (2) Evaluate the feasibility of this learning media, and (3) Assess students' acceptance of the developed media. The research was conducted in the Culinary Arts Education Study Program at the State University of Medan from June to August 2023. The methodology used was research and development (R&D) with the ADDIE development model, comprising the Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation stages. The research subjects were 30 students, and the media was validated by two subject matter experts and two media experts. Data collection instruments included a questionnaire to assess material quality, media quality, and student media acceptance. Data were analyzed descriptively. The results indicate that the Flash 8-based media for the Introduction to Culinary Arts course is highly feasible for use, with material validation by experts at 98.33% (very good category) and media validation at 90.57% (very good category). The overall feasibility score averaged 94.52%, indicating a "very good" category. Additionally, students' acceptance of this learning media was recorded as very high, with a score of 4.94. In conclusion, the developed Flash 8-based learning media proved effective and can enhance students' learning outcomes in the Introduction to Culinary Arts course. This study contributes by providing an alternative interactive learning media that is feasible, widely accepted, and capable of improving students' understanding of the field of culinary arts.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the development of flipbook maker products as a learning media for asymmetrical pattern hairstyling and to determine the feasibility of flipbook maker as a learning media for asymmetrical pattern hairstyling. In this study the method used is research and development method (Research & Development), which is a research method that aims to develop and test a product that will be produced for learning activities. The data collection technique was done through a questionnaire. While the data analysis technique used is quantitative. The validation test was carried out by media experts and material experts consisting of three lecturers from the Faculty of Engineering, State University of Medan who are competent in hairdressing lessons. While media experts are three lecturers from the Faculty of Engineering, State University of Medan. The results showed that the product developed in the form of media flipbook maker teaching material for asymmetrical pattern hair styling based on the assessment of the material experts obtained a score of 92.2%, meaning that the material contained in the flipbook maker was declared very good. While the assessment of media experts, the product developed in the form of a flipbook maker on asymmetrical pattern hair styling material obtained a score of 93.2%, meaning that the media display contained in the flipbook maker was declared very good. Based on the results of the media product trials conducted on three groups, it can be seen that based on the calculation in the small group trial the overall results reached 87.3%, in the medium group trial the overall results reached 93.4%. Likewise, the calculation in the large group trial reached 94%, with an average overall score of 91.5%. It can be concluded that the media flipbook maker asymmetrical pattern hair styling material is declared feasible for use in learning activities by educators and students.
