Abstract

A movie is a series of moving images that contain a story and can be watched by people. In addition to entertaining, movies also have the function of providing knowledge and education. There are various themes that can be made into a movie, one of which is a movie about social class and discrimination. This article analyzes the social class and discrimination that occur in a film entitled Saltburn by Emerald Fennel. This article using Max Weber's theory to classify the social classes found in Saltburn, This article also using Theodorson's theory to analyze discrimination in Saltburn. The method used in writing this thesis is the descriptive-qualitative method. The results of the analysis in this article show the existence of social classes, namely the upper class and the middle class. These social classes show differences in lifestyle and position. In addition, there is also discrimination that occurs in the movie in the form of verbal discrimination. Based on our analysis of the film Saltburn, it can be concluded that the existence of social class can affect the way a person socializes and can also clearly show the social status in the film. In addition, the existence of social class can lead to forms of discrimination, one of which is verbal discrimination. It can also be inferred that the discrimination experienced by Oliver can affect his mindset and the way he lives his life.

Abstract

This study examines "the analyzing students' body language while learning in the classroom" in using body language when students do activities while learning in the classroom while studying in discourse analysis, poetry and kebudayaan dan kesenian indonesia courses. The function of this study is to analyze the meaning of body language used by fourth semester students consciously and unconsciously while doing learning activities in the classroom in the English Literature Study Program at Dehasen University Bengkulu. The purpose of this research is to find out the meaning of body language used by fourth semester students. The research method used is descriptive-qualitative method using an instrument in the form of photographs taken secretly. The conclusion of this research is that body language is repeatedly used in the classroom during the teaching and learning process when interacting with each other. There are many body languages that students use to respond to interactions while learning in class. body language can be seen from several students, such as raising hands, touching the chin, scratching the head, rubbing the forehead, moving hands, covering the mouth with hands, and putting hands on the chin which have their respective meanings.example the gesture explains that the person is bored and not interested in the topic being discussed.

Abstract

This study discusses social class and discrimination in the film All Day And A Night. This study has two objectives. (1) To identify forms of social class and discrimination in the film All Day And A Night (2) To investigate the factors that cause social class and discrimination in the film All Day And A Night. This study uses a descriptive qualitative method. This relates to the description of data in the form of dialogue or conversation as well as descriptive actions that occur in the film. In this study, the researcher used Karl Marx and Sorokin's theories to analyze social class and theories from the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and Newman for discrimination. The findings of this study show that there are 11 forms of social class, 6 from the bourgeoisie and 5 from the proletariat, as well as 9 factor from wealth, income, and influence and 3 from occupation, and. Furthermore, 9 data were found for discrimination: 5 from harassment and 4 from race/color discrimination, as well as 2 factors from verbal discrimination, 1 from Avoidance, and finally 6 from physical discrimination. Thus, based on this data, the researcher found 11 data for social class and 9 data for discrimination in the film All Day And A Night.
