Abstract

Orthohantavirus is an RNA virus that causes Hemorrhagic Fever with Renal Syndrome (HFRS) and Hantavirus Pulmonary Syndrome (HPS). Humans can become infected with orthohantaviruses by inhaling virus particles from the urine, saliva, and feces of infective reservoir hosts. Small mammals from the orders Rodensia, Eulipotyphla, and Chiroptera are the main reservoirs of orthohantaviruses. This study aims to detect and calculate the incidence of orthohantavirus in reservoir hosts in Semarang City. The research was conducted descriptively analytically with a cross-sectional study design. The research population was all mice and shrews in the research location (Gayamsari and Tlogosari subdistricts), and the samples were caught mice and shrews (84). The research was carried out in May-September 2023. Orthohantavirus detection was carried out using the Nested PCR test (pre denaturation, denaturation, annealing and extension). A total of 84 individuals were captured, consisting of Rattus novergicus, Rattus tanezumi and Suncus murinus. Orthohantavirus in this study was successfully detected in Rattus norvegicus. The results of the study showed that the incidence of orthohantavirus in Gayamsari Village was (11.1%), Tlogosari Village (2.78%), and the overall total was (2.38%). It is necessary to control mice to prevent transmission of orthohantavirus.

Abstract

Namun disisi lain, tingkat kesadaran masyarakat terahadap bencana erupsi Gunungapi Merapi masih rendah. Abstract: Mount Merapi is one of the most active volcanoes in Indonesia which experiences eruptions almost every year. However, on the other hand, the level of public awareness of the Mount Merapi eruption disaster is still low. One of the efforts to mitigate is by increasing disaster literacy knowledge among communities in Disaster Prone Areas. This research aims to identify the role of the social institution FPRB and determine efforts to increase literacy in the Merapi volcanic eruption disaster. The research population consisted of the FPRB and heads of families in the villages of Ketunggeng, Dukun, Sengi. The research sample used a stratified random sampling technique with a total sample of 52 FPRB members and 98 members of the public. The research variables consist of the role of the FPRB and the level of community disaster literacy. Data collection techniques are observation, questionnaires, documentation and interviews. The data analysis technique uses frequency distribution analysis. Research results: (a) The role of FPRB is carried out through counseling, simulation, monitoring, providing needed supplies, access to information, determining gathering points and evacuation locations, (b) The disaster literacy level is relatively high on average, namely 76% in Dukun Village, 74% in Sengi Village and 60% in Ketunggeng Village. FPRB's efforts to increase disaster literacy in the community are quite influential in increasing awareness and becoming a means of reducing disaster risk.
