Abstract

The service activity entitled Socialization of the Use of Yard Land to Produce Organic Vegetables in Sumbersalak Village, Ledokombo District, Jember, is a form of socialization and education for the community to increase the useful value of yard land. The aim of the activity is to maximize the role of yard land in cultivating plants, especially to produce healthy (organic) vegetables. The method used uses lecture and discussion methods. The results of the activity are community understanding of the importance of managing yard land so that it can become a source of nutritional fulfillment for families in an effort to create healthy vegetables free of chemical pesticides. So that similar activities can continue to be developed and utilized by the community to minimize the use of chemical pesticides in plant cultivation activities. Managing organic vegetables can also increase family income.

Abstract

There is still school yard land which has not yet been maximized. So solutions and innovation are needed in using it. This aims to maximize less productive school yard land so that it can support food security. The aim of this activity is to maximize the potential of unused school land into productive land through cultivating plants to support the national food security program. The methods used are the lecture method and direct practice method. The results obtained from the activity are a source of information for all school residents at SDN Arjasa 1 regarding cultivation techniques and innovations regarding the use of school yard land to support food security programs.

Abstract

The development of a permanent jackfruit nursery in Jember Regency aimed to increase the availability of quality seedlings and support the independence of local products. The activity was carried out in Karangpring Village, Sukorambi District, Jember Regency, specifically at the Jember Nursery. It included site preparation, planting, outreach, and practical programs for farmers, students, and related institutions. This initiative produced high-quality jackfruit seedlings with optimal growth and good viability. Indicators of good jackfruit seedlings are characterized by the diameter and height of the seedlings. These indicators serve as indicators of good jackfruit seedling growth. Farmers gained access to superior seedlings and knowledge of cultivation techniques, practical learning processes, and universities strengthened partnerships as replicable models. Overall, the activities contributed to the independence of Jember's local commodities, strengthened community capacity, food security, and increased economic value.
