Abstract

Salah satu unit utama yang sangat penting dalam proses produksi semen yaitu pada unit raw mill. Pada unit raw mill terdapat beberapa alat proses produksi semen meliputi vertikall raw mill, Multicyclone, Gas Conditioning Tower  (GCT), dan Bag House Filter (BHF). Pada raw mill terjadi proses pencampuran, penggiling, pengeringan, dan transportasi pada bahan baku seperti limestone, pozzolan, iron sand, dan clay menjadi bubuk halus yang disebut raw mix dengan standar kehalusan diatas 90µ (14-20%). Penggilingan bahan baku menjadi raw mix membutuhkan energi yang signifikan. Maka dari itu perlu dilakukan peningkatan kinerja alat pada unit raw mill untuk meningkatkan efisiensi kinerja alat dengan mengevaluasi perhitungan neraca massa, neraca energi, dan efisiensi kinerja alat di unit produksi raw mill pada salah satu proses produksi semen Indarung VI PT Semen Padang. Hasil evaluasi neraca massa, neraca energi, dan efisiensi unit raw mill dihitung dengan prinsip kekekalan massa energi sehingga diperoleh kapasitas overall sebesar 1.260.549,3012 kg/jam, kebutuhan panas 400.930.630,84kJ/jam dengan total heat loss 152.152.976,79 kJ/jam dan efisiensi VRM 55,34% serta GCT 83,06%. Nilai tersebut masih memenuhi batas minimal perusahaan sebesar 50%. Dari hasil perhitungan dapat disimpulkan bahwa proses pengeringan material untuk mencapai kadar air yang ditentukan masih berlangsung secara optimal.

Abstract

Domestic wastewater treatment using Biological Aerated Filter (BAF) method based on bioball is a technological innovation that combines biological and physical processes to improve effluent quality. This study studied the use of a Biological Aerated Filter (BAF) modified with bioball media and variations in residence time to improve waste treatment efficiency and ensure effluent quality by established standards. The study consisted of four stages: preparation, seeding and acclimatization, use of Biological Aerated Filter (BAF), and analysis of the results. The prepared waste samples are domestic liquid waste from shopping centers that have known sample parameters as influential. Seeding and acclimatization are carried out in BAF reactors. Waste was treated through BAF with variable residence time, then analyzed by testing procedures based on \SNI 6989.72: 2009. The results showed that the bioball media in the BAF reactor were more effective than without media, showing a decrease in TDS (92% in 6 hours), TSS (86%), and an increase in COD and BOD efficiency. Effluent pH results are constant at 6-7 as per environmental standards. Obtaining higher process efficiency required a combination of wastewater treatment methods.
