Abstract

Seaweed is macro algae that it one of export commodity at Indonesia. In addition to having economic value, macroalgae also have an important role in aquatic ecosystems. macroalgae play a role as primary producers because of their ability to photosynthesize, produce organic matter, and oxygen in the aquatic environment. Waters on Lombok Island that are overgrown with seaweed include Batu Layar beach. Batu Layar sub-district is part of the tourism area located in the coastal area. Batu Layar sub-district includes a cultivation area consisting of a variety of land uses ranging from agriculture, livestock, fishing and so on. This study aimed to analyze the diversity of seaweed species in the coastal waters of Batulayar, Senggigi, West Lombok Regency along with antioxidant and chlorophyll-a content. The research was conducted in November 2023 in the waters of Batu Layar, Senggigi, West Lombok Regency. The research methods used in this study were survey methods and method explanation of antioxidant content and chlorophyll was carried out in the laboratory, by taking random samples based on the boundaries of the predetermined area as many as 4 stations. The result of this research are identified species of seaweed including Sargassum sp., Padina, Caulerpa, Galaxaura, Ulva, Gelidium, Acanthophora, Iaxaura, Halimeda, Boergesenia forbesii, Corallina, and Turbinaria. Padina antioxidant levels reached 81,31% and chlorophyll 14,35 mg/l. It can be concluded that there are 12 types of seaweed that grow wild consisting of four species each of green, brown, and red alga. Padina has the highest antioxidant content of 81,31%.Keywords:AquacultureAntioxidantChlorophyllSeaweedSargassum.

Abstract

Abstract

alvarezii is a superior product of Indonesian fisheries, producing carrageenan which is used as a food, cosmetic, and medicinal ingredient. K. striatus is a carrageenan-producing red alga that began to be cultivated in the Ekas waters of East Lombok in 2023. K. striatus is more resistant to epiphytes and sudden climate change. The purpose of this study was to analyze the growth of Kappaphycus alvarezii and Kappaphycus striatus. The research was conducted in Ekas Bay, Jerowaru District, East Lombok Regency. The research was conducted from November 8, 2023, to January 8, 2024. This research used an experimental method with T-test analysis. Treatments in this research are the cultivation of K. alvarezii and K. striatus. Cultivation was carried out at Ekas Bay. Analysis of seaweed carrageenan was carried out in the Laboratory of Fish Production and Reproduction, Aquaculture Study Program, Faculty of Agriculture, Mataram University. The result of this research is K. striatus has a higher absolute weight of 154 g compared to K. alvarezii seaweed which is 72 g. The specific growth rate K. striatus higher at 2,98 % / day compared to K. alvarezii is 1, 98 % / day. The yield of carrageenan of K. alvarezii is 1,95% and K. striatus 0,88%. Antioxidant of K. alvarezii is 5,46 % and K. striatus is 7,42%. Chlorophyll K. alvarezii is 5,77 mg/l and K. striatus is 3,51 mg/l. The conclusion of this study is the growth of K. striatus is faster than K. alvarezii.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the implementation of the parking fee policy on public roads in Kudus city and to identify the factors inhibiting its successful execution. The study uses a qualitative research approach and applies Merilee S. Grindle’s theory, which focuses on two indicators: policy content and the context of implementation. Data were collected through interviews with key stakeholders, including local government officials, parking attendants, and the public. The findings reveal that the policy’s implementation is facing significant challenges, primarily due to the persistence of illegal parking practices and the involvement of unauthorized parking attendants in the city. These issues have undermined the intended outcomes of the parking fee policy, preventing it from achieving its full potential in regulating traffic and generating revenue for public services. The study also highlights factors such as inadequate enforcement mechanisms, insufficient public awareness, and limited coordination between local authorities and enforcement agencies. Based on these findings, it is recommended that the local government strengthen law enforcement, improve public education on the benefits of the policy, and increase collaboration with stakeholders to ensure more effective implementation of the parking fee policy. The research contributes to the understanding of urban policy challenges in managing public resources and offers practical insights for local governments seeking to implement similar policies in urban areas.
