Abstract

This study aims to describe the learning outcomes of science physics students The density material taught using the Think Pair Share (TPS) Type cooperative learning model in grade VII students of SMP Negeri 8 Ambon. The type of research used in this study is a type of descriptive research that aims to describe existing phenomena, which take place now or in the past, and seeks to systematically describe facts and characteristics about the learning outcomes of Science Physics Students. From the research conducted, it showed that in obtaining the initial test results, none of the students completed learning on the Wave material with an average achievement score of 28.09. In the cognitive aspect, as many as 100% of students succeeded in mastering learning indicators, in the affective aspect, as many as 100% of students succeeded in mastering learning indicators, and in the psychomotor aspect, as many as 100% of students succeeded in mastering learning indicators. With an average achievement score on the cognitive aspect is 79.87, on the affective aspect is 73.33 and on the psychomotor aspect is 75.67. Based on the results of the research conducted, it can be concluded that the use of the Think Pair Share (TPS) Type cooperative learning model can help students achieve Physics Science learning outcomes in cognitive, affective, psychomotor, formative tests and final grades with sufficient qualifications. Thus, the use of the Think Pair Share (TPS) type cooperative learning model can activate students in the teaching and learning process.

Abstract

Pembelajaran yang menarik dan bermakna serta merangsang berpikir kritis dapat diwujudkan melalui penggunaan media pembelajaran yaitu aplikasi Phet dan Wordwall. Aplikasi Phet menampilkan fenomena-fenomena sains dalam bentuk audio-visual untuk membantu sekolah yang mengalami kekurangan alat laboratorium. Sedangkan Wordwall merupakan aplikasi yang mempermudah guru dalam evaluasi pembelajaran. Melalui aplikasi Phet Peserta didik dapat membuktikan konsep-konsep sains dan dapat menemukan konsep. Penerapan aplikasi Phet dalam proses pembelajaran membutuhkan paduan berupa lembar kerja siswa berbasis riset yang dimana melalui lembar kerja siswa dapat melatih kemampuan berpikir tingkat tinggi salah satunya nalar kritis. Rendahnya sosialisasi mengakibatkan para guru di SMP Kristen 1 Leihitu Barat belum mengenal aplikasi Phet dan Wordwall. Dengan adanya program pengabdian pada masyarakat diharapkan para guru di SMP Kristen 1 Leihitu Barat dapat menerapkan secara mandiri aplikasi Phet dan Wordwall serta membuat lembar kerja siswa berbasis riset sehingga terciptanya suasana pembelajaran yang menyenangkan, aktif, kritis, kreatif, dan bermakna

Abstract

This community service activity aims to provide a workshop for 15 teachers at SMP Negeri 2 Inamosol to improve their skills in implementing differentiated learning. This workshop is expected to help teachers implement the Independent Curriculum and Differentiated Learning well and acquire new knowledge and skills in dealing with the diversity of students in the classroom more effectively and equitably, so that this can also be reflected in learning tools/modules. In addition, teachers are expected to be able to use interactive learning media that can stimulate student activity so that through this training teachers can not only improve their knowledge and skills related to differentiated learning, but also be able to choose learning methods/models/media that are appropriate to the characteristics of students and materials. The community service team organizes activities based on 4 stages: preparation and provision, implementation, and program sustainability. This community service received a positive response with an average percentage value of teacher responses to the Workshop on Implementing the Independent Curriculum: Differentiated Learning for Teachers of SMP Negeri 2 Inamosol, namely 86.4%, so it can be said that the community service activities at SMP Negeri 2 Inamosol were successful and well received by the principal, teachers, and students

Abstract

This study aims to describe the application of STEAM learning based on Logix games to improve students' critical thinking skills in science (Physics) material at SMP Negeri 8 Ambon. This study uses quantitative and qualitative research methods, a quasi-experimental type of research involving an experimental group and a control group. The sampling method is carried out randomly. The sample in this study consisted of 46 students. The design used was a pre-test post-test control group design. The research design was Quasi-Experimental. Data analysis in this study was conducted using quantitative descriptive analysis to describe the data as it is in the form of percentages and explain the data or events with explanatory sentences qualitatively and also used differential statistical analysis. The data analysis techniques used include: independent t-test and N-Gain test for test results and qualitative descriptive response test. The results of the N-Gain test found that in the control class using the conventional model, most students did not experience an increase in critical thinking skills with a percentage increase in the low category of 82.35% and a medium category of 17.65%, while for the experimental class it was found that the experimental class using the STEAM approach based on games logic on critical thinking skills experienced an increase in cognitive critical thinking skills with a percentage in the high category of 13.04%, medium of 78.26%, and low of 8.7%, this is supported by the value of the independent t-test with a 2-tailed sign value of less than 0.05 at the assumed equal variances value, there is a significant difference between the control and experimental classes where the treatment of the experimental class affects the student's grades, causing the grades to be higher than the value of the control class that was not given any treatment, so in general it can be concluded that the application of the STEAM approach based on games logic in science learning provides significant opportunities for students to develop critical thinking skills.
