Abstract

Concentration is very important and needed for children in following the learning process. learning concentration can be seen from an increase in the presence of neurotransmitters. Neurotransmitters function as chemical messengers that play an important role in information processing throughout the nervous system. The purpose of this research is to describe the Literature Study: A Biopsychological Review in Improving Children's Concentration. This research uses library research with a qualitative descriptive approach. Based on the results of the review of 25 (twenty-five) journals examined by the author, there are various effectiveness of neurotransmitter performance involved in various brain functions, such as sleep, mood, emotion, attention, and learning and memory. The conclusions of this study include: 1) Neurotransmitter metabolites include biogenic amines (catecholamines norepinephrine, epinephrine, and dopamine and serotonin) and amino acids (glycine, glutamate, and γ-aminobutyric acid [GABA]), 2) Serotonin is useful for neurotransmitters and concentration, 3) Neurotransmitters including acetylcholine play an important role in the development of brain nerve structures and cells. Acetylcholine (ACh) is the first identified cholinergic neurotransmitter, and changes in its content can fully reflect the growth and development of the body as well as learning ability and memory, 4) Students who are able to concentrate during lessons will have higher memory and easily understand what is learned and 5) The researcher suggests that future studies examine the effect of one of the various types of neurotransmitters on children's concentration and motivation to learn.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of parenting styles and food consumption patterns on the selection and eating habits of healthy food in early childhood. The research approach uses a quantitative method with a correlational survey design. Data were collected through questionnaires distributed to 139 respondents selected using a purposive sampling technique, consisting of parents of early childhood children from various educational institutions. Data analysis was conducted using Pearson’s correlation statistical tests to measure the relationship between parenting styles (authoritative, authoritarian, and permissive) and food consumption patterns with children’s eating habits. The results indicate a significant positive relationship between authoritative parenting and healthy eating habits in children. Conversely, permissive parenting has a negative correlation with healthy food choices, while authoritarian parenting shows a weak correlation. These findings emphasize the crucial role of parents as behavioral models in shaping children’s eating habits from an early age. Therefore, educational interventions and nutritional counseling for parents are necessary to raise awareness and foster parenting practices that support healthy eating habits in early childhood.

Abstract

Objective:  This study aims to increase the curiosity of children aged 5–7 years through the use of innovative Educational Play Tools (APE) made from recycled materials. Method: The method used is Classroom Action Research (CAR) with the Kemmis & McTaggart model, which consists of the stages of planning, action, observation, and reflection. The research subjects were 15 children at KB TK Aisyiyah 25 Wage in the even semester of the 2025/2026 academic year. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, using an observation sheet on curiosity that includes indicators of asking questions, trying, exploring, and being enthusiastic. Analysis was carried out descriptively, both quantitatively and qualitatively. Results: The results showed an increase in children’s curiosity from cycle I to cycle II. In cycle I, children who reached the high category were 60% (9 out of 15 children), while in cycle II this increased to 80% (12 out of 15 children). This achievement exceeds the research success indicator, namely at least 75% of children show high curiosity. Novelty: The use of innovative APE from recycled materials has proven effective in fostering curiosity in early childhood and provides a creative learning alternative that teachers can apply in the classroom.

Abstract

Objective: This research aims to develop and implement educational game media from used goods in learning environment-based physical education for early childhood. Method: The approach used is Research and Development (R&D) with the ADDIE development model consisting of five stages: analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The research subjects involved 20 teachers from KB Kindergarten Aisyiyah Wonocolo Sepanjang. Result: The results of the analysis show that there is a need for teachers for physical learning media that is innovative, economical, and environmentally friendly. At the stage of development, game media from used items such as plastic bottles, cardboard, and raffia rope were validated by media experts and physical education experts with results that were very feasible to use. Media implementation is carried out through direct learning with children and evaluation is carried out through observation and questionnaires to teachers. The results show that educational game media from used goods is able to improve children's gross motor skills, motivate involvement in physical activities, and instill the value of environmental concern. Novelty: Thus, used goods-based educational game media can be an alternative to integrative and contextual physical education learning solutions for early childhood while supporting character learning and environmental awareness from an early age.
