Abstract

One of the discomforts experienced by pregnant women in the first trimester of pregnancy is feeling nausea and vomiting as one of the symptoms of Emesis Gravidarum. The World Health Organization (WHO) states that hypermesis gravidarum occurs worldwide, with a prevalence of 78.5% of all pregnancies. One therapy that is safe and can be given to pregnant women who experience nausea and vomiting is lemon aromatherapy. This study aims to determine the effect of giving lemon aroma therapy on the frequency of emesis gravidarum (nausea and vomiting) in first trimester pregnant women. This study used a quasi-experimental method with a two-group pretest-posttest design. The population in this study were all first trimester pregnant women in the Kedawung Health Center Working Area, totaling 40 pregnant women. The sample used in this study was 38 respondents who were taken using purposive sampling technique. Data analysis techniques used in this study were univariate and bivariate analysis. The chi square test was used in this study in analyzing bivariate to test the hypothesis of this study. The results showed there was a significant decrease in the frequency of emesis gravidarum before and after the use of lemon aroma therapy with a p-value of 0.008. Giving aroma therapy to pregnant women can reduce the frequency of Emesis Gravidarum in the first trimester. It is recommended for pregnant women to use lemon aroma therapy in overcoming emesis gravidarum (nausea and vomiting).

One attempt to increase the baby's weight is administering a combination of Woolwich massage and red ginger hydrogel, which has never been done in prior studies.Purpose: To demonstrate the impact of a Woolwich massage and red ginger hydrogel on infant weight.Method: This experimental study with a pre-post-test control group design. Thirty-six breastfeeding mother respondents were selected using simple random sampling; 18 were given a combination of Woolwich massage and red ginger hydrogel, and 18 were given standard breast care during the postpartum period. Treatment was given for seven days—analysis of baby weight using the Paired Samples T-Test and the Mann-Whitney test. Results: The average increase in body weight of infants of the intervention group (405,56 g) was higher than the control group (238,89 g), p<0.05.Conclusion: Breastfeeding mothers given a combination of Woolwich massage and hydrogel made from red ginger rhizomes could have babies with a higher birth weight than mothers who were only given standard breast care.

Abstract

The Government of the Republic of Indonesia has a vision to achieve Indonesia Maju Menuju Indonesia Emas 2045 (Indonesia Advancing Towards Golden Indonesia 2045). One of the programs to realize this vision is through the 7 Healthy Habits of Indonesian Children Movement, which is implemented at the primary to secondary education levels. This program is expected to shape the character of the nation's children to be superior and resilient as an effort to prepare superior human resources. This community service activity was conducted in the form of education at SD Negeri Pulopanjang 1 in Serang Regency, Banten, on July 31, 2025, involving 38 students. Pulopanjang is a small island located in Banten Bay. Administratively, the island is part of Serang Regency, Banten, and can be reached by motorboat in approximately 1 hour from Karangantu Port in Serang City or 15–20 minutes from Grenyang Bojonegara Port in Serang Regency. Under the auspices of the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education, Pulopanjang 1 State Elementary School stands firmly in Kp. Peres, Pulopanjang Village/Subdistrict, Pulo Ampel District, Serang Regency, Banten Province. This state school operates a morning learning system six days a week. This community service initiative is carried out as a form of support for the government's program to promote and implement the “7 Habits of Great Indonesian Children” movement in practice. It also aims to introduce the government's program so that elementary school students can apply these seven good habits. Through the implementation of the 7 Habits of Great Indonesian Children educational program, children gain a clear understanding of how the 7 Habits of Great Indonesian Children program is applied in daily life. It is hoped that with proper understanding, these elementary school students will consistently practice these habits, thereby developing the character of future leaders and becoming outstanding human resources in the future, in line with the government's expectations.
