Abstract

The high number of tourists visiting Bali is directly proportional to the movement of people in the areas that serve as tourist centers, one of which is the North Kuta area. This often leads to traffic congestion at the intersections. Therefore, proper traffic management, such as signal timing optimization. This research was conducted at the Taman Sari intersection using PTV Vissim software to model and optimize signal timing. The study used traffic volume, queue length, vehicle speed, and road geometry data. After modeling and optimization, there was a decrease in queue length and delays at three arms of the intersection. The northbound arm experienced an 8% reduction in delays and an 18% reduction in queue length. The southbound arm experienced an 8% reduction in delays and a 2% reduction in queue length. The westbound arm experienced a 7% reduction in delays and a 1% reduction in queue length. However, there was an increase in delays and queue length at the eastbound arm. ABSTRAK Tingginya jumlah wisatawan yang berkunjung ke Bali berbanding lurus dengan jumlah pergerakan masyarakat di daerah yang menjadi pusat pariwisata salah satunya adalah daerah Kuta Utara, hal ini menyebabkan sering terjadinya kemacetan pada persimpangan. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan manajemen lalu lintas yang tepat, seperti optimalisasi waktu sinyal. Penelitian ini dilakukan di simpang Taman Sari dengan menggunakan software PTV Vissim untuk memodelkan dan mengoptimalkan waktu sinyal. Penelitian ini menggunakan data seperti volume lalu lintas, panjang antrean, kecepatan kendaraan, dan geometri jalan. Setelah dilakukan pemodelan dan optimalisasi, terjadi penurunan panjang antrean dan tundaan di tiga kaki simpangnya yaitu pada kaki arah utara terjadi penurunan tundaan sebesar 8% dan panjang antrean 18%, pada kaki arah selatan terjadi penurunan tundaan sebesar 8% dan panjang antrean 2% dan pada kaki arah barat terjadi penurunan tundaan sebesar 7% dan panjang antrean 1%. Namun, terdapat peningkatan tundaan dan panjang antrean pada kaki simpang arah timur.

Abstract

Travel safety is a vital aspect of supporting the tourism industry, especially in popular destinations like Bedugul. This article discusses safety outreach and education efforts aimed at drivers and passengers in the Bedugul tourist area. This outreach activity aims to increase awareness and understanding of the importance of safe driving practices and passenger behavior that supports safety. Through a participatory and interactive approach, this program successfully conveys key information about safety procedures, the use of personal protective equipment, and handling emergency situations. The results of this activity show a significant increase in safety awareness among drivers and passengers, which is expected to reduce the risk of accidents and increase tourist comfort. This article concludes that ongoing safety education is the key to creating a safer and more enjoyable tourism environment in Bedugul.
