Abstract

In order to better understand how to manage Indonesia's population and reduce poverty, this study will use welfare and the human development index (HDI) as its metrics. This research made use of secondary data that was given by the Central Bureau of Statistics in Indonesia. Analyzing the relationship between the dependent variables (poverty and population growth rate) and the independent ones (welfare and the human development index) requires the use of expert analysis. The results show that in order to control the pace of population increase in Indonesia and reduce poverty, wealth and the human development index are very important. These results have significant ramifications for Indonesian development strategy in order to enhance human development quality and efficiently regulate population density

Abstract

This study aims to elaborate on the foundational thoughts of Imam Abu al-Hasan al-Ash‘ari and Imam Abu Mansur al-Maturidi and to analyze their relevance in the context of strengthening the creed of Ahl al-Sunnah wa al-Jama‘ah (Aswaja) within contemporary Islamic education, based on a review of recent scholarly articles published between 2020 and 2025. The findings indicate that both imams serve as the main pillars of Aswaja theology by offering a moderate approach that balances the authority of revelation (naql) and the role of reason (‘aql) as a response to classical theological extremism. The primary difference lies in determining the limits of reason: al-Ash‘ari prioritizes revelation as the source of moral and theological knowledge, while al-Maturidi provides greater space for human reason to recognize the existence of God. Furthermore, divergences are found in discussions on divine obligation (al-aṣlaḥ) and the concept of kasb (the acquisition of human actions), in which al-Maturidi tends to place greater emphasis on individual freedom. Overall, the theological thought of both schools remains highly relevant. Their concepts serve as the foundation of ‘aqidah curricula, promoting moderation (tawassuṭ) and critical thinking, thereby effectively safeguarding students from deviant ideologies and strengthening the stability of the Aswaja creed within Islamic educational institutions.

Abstract

The Raja Ampat Islands are famous for the richest marine biodiversity in the world, but in reality the exploitation of natural resources, especially nickel mining has damaged the environment and has become a serious threat to the marine ecosystem and the rights of indigenous peoples. The urgency of human rights protection against natural resources in Raja Ampat Papua, is something that must be done. The purpose of this study is to examine the root of conflict problems in Raja Ampat, analyze the impact of conflict from natural resources that have occurred, and evaluate the role of government in providing human rights protection against natural resource conflicts in Raja Ampat. This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study design to understand the phenomenon of conflict that occurs in Raja Ampat Papua. Secondary data sources are used in this study from various books, journal articles, and policy studies. Natural resource conflicts in Raja Ampat, especially those related to the expansion of nickel mining continue to increase sharply, causing damage to forests, sea sedimentation, and threatening biodiversity, and cause social inequality for people in Raja Ampat. The conflict has a serious impact on social aspects, threatened tourism sectors, and severe ecological damage. There is a gap in government policy related to mining licensing and natural resource governance in Raja Ampat Papua. The government needs to increase the mechanism of law enforcement to ensure the protection of human rights related to the management of natural resources. Supervision and accountability need to emphasize the transparency of natural resource management to prevent the exploitation of natural resources that violate human rights.
