Abstract

Early marriage is a common problem in low- and middle-income developing countries, bringing health, emotional, sexual, and social consequences. These challenges vary by country. This study aims to explore the challenges of early marriage, including its drivers and strategies for addressing them. This study employed a systematic literature review using the Scopus and Google Scholar databases, as they offer broad and credible academic coverage. Of the 151 articles identified, only 10 met the inclusion criteria, which included topic relevance, language, full-text accessibility, and a clear methodology. The results showed that couples who marry early are generally not physically and psychologically ready to assume the roles of husband and wife. Factors driving early marriage include residence, religion, limited access to education, poverty, family cultural structure, and low individual autonomy. One strategy for addressing this is through marriage counseling, which helps women plan pregnancies and prevent the negative impacts of early pregnancy. Keywords: early marriage, family, marriage counseling

Abstract

This study aims to examine the impact of the Merdeka Curriculum on the formation of a positive school culture. The primary focus is to understand how the implementation of this curriculum can affect various aspects of school culture, such as social climate, adopted values, and the patterns of interaction among students, teachers, and school staff. This research employs a literature review method, which involves reviewing and analyzing relevant written sources related to the research topic. The literature review identifies key sources by gathering journal articles, books, reports, and other documents pertinent to the research topic. The findings indicate that the Merdeka Curriculum in Indonesia, designed to replace the previous rigid curriculum, aims to provide greater flexibility for schools and teachers in a student-centered learning process. Supported by the government and educational institutions through training and resources, this curriculum seeks to create a more adaptive and responsive learning environment. This approach not only enhances student engagement and motivation through techniques such as project-based learning and collaboration but also encourages teachers to develop innovative teaching methods. Additionally, the emphasis on character values and life skills within the Merdeka Curriculum contributes to the development of a more positive and inclusive school culture and improves social relationships within the school environment. Thus, the Merdeka Curriculum is expected to support students' personal and academic development and foster a more harmonious and effective school climate.

Abstract

Academic achievement is a key indicator in evaluating the success of the learning process in higher education. Various psychological factors contribute to the attainment of academic achievement, particularly students’ motivation and their perceptions of the courses they take. This study aims to analyze the influence of motivation and students’ perceptions on the learning achievement in the Psychology course among students of the Guidance and Counseling Study Program at Nahdlatul Ulama University of Cirebon. This research employed a quantitative approach with multiple linear regression analysis. The research instruments consisted of a learning motivation questionnaire, a student perception questionnaire for the Psychology course, and documentation of final course grades. The sample included 78 students selected through purposive sampling. The findings indicate that motivation and students’ perceptions have a significant influence on academic achievement, with motivation serving as the most dominant contributing variable. These results emphasize the importance of internal student factors in determining the quality of learning outcomes.
