Abstract

Zain-ul-Abidin, also known as Bud Shah, was a notable king of Kashmir who ushered in a period of peace, prosperity, and benevolent rule for nearly half a century. He was a liberal ruler who established peace in his kingdom and promoted the welfare of his subjects. During his reign, Muslim rule firmly established its roots in Kashmir, and he became the harbinger of new thoughts and ideas. He encouraged the arts, literature, and music, and his court was a hub of culture and creativity. Zain-ul-Abidin was deeply committed to the development of Kashmir and took great interest in the developmental programs in all aspects of life. He undertook tours to different parts of the country to find out the condition of the people and how his officers were carrying out the administration. Zain-ul-Abidin's legacy is still remembered in Kashmir today, and he is revered as one of the greatest kings of the region. Hence an attempt has been made in this research article to trace the social, cultural and political development of the region during the period of Sultan Zain ul Abidin.

Abstract

Abstract The cultural tapestry and customs of Kashmir form a diverse and intricate montage shaped over the course of centuries. Situated in the northernmost reaches of India, Kashmir's evolution has been molded by a multitude of cultures and faiths, resulting in a distinctive fusion of rituals and ways of life. The inhabitants of Kashmir are renowned for their gracious reception, intricate craftsmanship, delectable gastronomy, and melodic expressions of music and dance, all emblematic of their ancestral lineage. Notwithstanding its allure and opulence, Kashmir's cultural ethos has encountered adversities such as conflict, displacement, and environmental degradation. Despite these trials, the resilience of Kashmiri culture and its traditions has endured, forging ahead with vigor. Through an exploration of the distinctive customs and rituals of the Kashmiri populace, this exposition seeks to underscore the splendor and opulence inherent in their cultural legacy, emphasizing the imperative of safeguarding it for generations yet to come

Tourism in the state has spurred the growth of the entire service industry, encompassing transportation, hospitality, camping, retail shops, horticulture, and small-scale sectors. However, this sector remains vulnerable to even minor fluctuations in the law and order situation. Srinagar, the summer capital of the Indian-administered union territory of Jammu and Kashmir, stands as an enchanting and prominent destination in the world of tourism. Nestled in the heart of the Kashmir Valley, this city's allure lies not only in its stunning natural beauty but also in its rich cultural heritage and warm hospitality, drawing travelers from across the globe. This descriptive exploration delves into the multifaceted role that Srinagar plays in tourism, taking readers on a journey through its picturesque landscapes, iconic houseboats on Dal Lake, Mughal Gardens, vibrant culture, diverse religious sites, and the exhilarating world of adventure tourism.
