Abstract

Osteoarthritis is a degenerative joint disease which has a characteristic chronic, progressing slowly when all of the structure of the joint changes pathologically. Role of physiotherapist is appropriate to the problem in the osteoarthritis case based on the results of physiotherapis examination which includes an assessement, diagnosis, planning and evaluation for increasing mobility of movement and functional activities in patient with osteoarthritis of knee. Case description: Mr.J 60 years old complaints of knee pain that has been felt about 2 years ago. After doing a physiotherapis examination, he has a diagnosis osteoarthritis of knee. The diagnosis of knee osteoarthritis is based on the physical examination and supporting examination. According to result of x-ray showed Mr.J has grade III osteoarthritis on the right side knee where moderate osteophyte, deformity of the bone tip cracked joints narrowed. Results: After of the physioterapis treatment program is carried out for 4 weeks with 2- 3x/week. The patient has experienced a change from relaxation and in carrying out daily activities such as going up and down stairs, sitting and squatting. Conclusions: All of the goals or outcome measure can be achieved by management of physiotherapis with applying various aspects appropriately and spesific.

Abstract

The aim of the research is to determine the difference in the effects of providing trampoline exercise with wooble board exercise on increasing dynamic stabilization. The sample consisted of 20 students at Esa Unggul University and were selected based on random sampling techniques using the available questionnaires. The samples were grouped into two treatment groups, treatment group I consisted of 10 people with trampoline exercise and treatment group II consisted of 10 people who were given wooble board exercise. This research method is a type of quasi-experimental pre-post test design research. Statistical analysis of this research uses the Related T-Test and the Independent T-Test. The results of the homogeneity test for the treatment group before training were with a p value = 0.008. The results of the T-Test Related test in treatment group I have a value of p = 0.001 and in treatment group II the value of p = 0.001 means that the training given to each group has an effect on increasing dynamic stabilization. And the Independent T-Test test results show a p value = 0.001, which means there is a very significant influence between treatment group I and treatment group II.  It can be concluded that there is a very significant difference in effect between trampoline exercise and wooble board exercise on increasing dynamic stabilization. In this study, it is recommended that the training method can be applied with the correct procedures, carried out within more than 1 month because with increasing dynamic stabilization the results will be better if carried out within 2-3 months, and it is hoped that things that can influence the results research can be minimized in order to achieve optimal results.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the differences in the effects of Mini Squat on Balance Pad exercise and Lunge with Focused Stabilization exercise on improving stabilization. The sample consisted of 40 participants, selected using a random sampling technique using a provided questionnaire. The sample was divided into two treatment groups: Treatment Group I, consisting of 20 participants, received the Mini Squat on Balance Pad exercise, and Treatment Group II, consisting of 20 participants, received the Lunge with Focused Stabilization exercise. Method: This study used a quasi-experimental pre-post test design. Statistical analysis used the Related T-Test and Independent T-Test. The results of the homogeneity test for the treatment groups before exercise showed a p-value of 0.008. The Related T-Test results for Treatment Group I showed a p-value of 0.001, and for Treatment Group II, a p-value of 0.001, indicating that the exercises given to each group had an effect on improving stabilization. The results of the Independent T-Test showed a p-value of 0.001, indicating a highly significant effect between treatment group I and treatment group II. It can be concluded that there is a highly significant difference in the effects of the Mini Squat on Balance Pad exercise and the Lunge with Focused Stabilization exercise on improving stabilization. This study recommends applying the training method with the correct procedure, and performing it over a period of more than one month. Improved stabilization results will be better if performed over a period of 2-3 months. It is also hoped that factors that could influence the research results can be minimized to achieve optimal results.
