Abstract

The fast-spreading Corona virus requires the government to take policies quickly to break the chain of its spread. Various ways are done starting from diverting all activities that are usually done offline to online. This increase in the use of technology is due to activity restrictions and causes people to spend more time at home, one of which is buying food online through delivery applications, resulting in many people choosing food without paying attention to the nutritional content contained in the food. Nutritional problems in adults tend to lead to obesity. One of the factors that influence nutritional status is nutritional knowledge. One of the prevention efforts that can be done is through education to increase public knowledge. This education is carried out online with the theme "Education Wisely in Choosing Food in the Delivery Application During the New Normal" with pocket books and Instagram social media accounts. This activity begins with a pretest and ends with a posttest to assess the increase in knowledge. There was an increase in the value of the results of the pretest and posttest scores as well as pocket book media and Instagram social media accounts which affected the increase in respondents' knowledge. Respondents of this activity have normal nutritional status as many as 35 respondents out of 60 respondents.

Abstract

An experiment was conducted to determine the effect of feeding products fermented by Neurospora crassa on quail performances and egg quality. 200 quail layers were randomly allocated into 20 pens. This experiment was arranged in a completely randomized design (CRD) with four dietary treatments: 0%, 3%, 6%, 9% and 12% product fermented by Neurospora crassa in the diets and four replications. Variable measured were feed comsumption, egg production, feed conversion, egg cholesterol and egg yolk colour. Data were analized by CRD and Duncan Multiple Range Test (DMRT). Results of the experiment indicated that feed comsumption, egg production, feed conversion were not affected (P>0.05) but egg cholesterol and egg yolk colour were affected (P<0.01) by using product fermented in the diets for quails. Results of Duncant Multiple Range Test indicated that egg cholesterol in E treatment (used 12% products fermented) was the lowest than other treatment, but the highest on egg yolk colour . The conclusion of the experiment that up to 12% products fermented by Neurospora crassa can be used in the diet of quail and can increase the quality of quail egg (egg low cholesterol).

Abstract

An experiment has been conducted to study the effect of diets with different level of protein on the production performance of offspring (F1) crossbred between arab and kampung chicken. Fifty four crossbreed hens of 20 weeks of age were used in the experiment. The hens were divided into 3 feeding groups, each 6 x 3 heads. Treatment diets were formulated in three different levels of protein: 15, 17 and 19 %. The diets which an average energy content of 2850 kcal/kg were offered for 8 weeks. Variable observed included: feed intake, hen day egg production, FCR, egg weight and color index of yellow egg. The data were statistically analyzed by variance analysis in completely block design with 3 treatments and 6 replicates. The results indicated the protein level had significant effect on all variables. Diet with 19 % crude protein gave the best performance.

Abstract

ABSTRAKPada era adaptasi kebiasaan baru terjadi peningkatan pemakaian internet. Salah satu bidang yang mendapatkan dampak yang pesat dari teknologi internet adalah bidang bisnis kuliner melalui aplikasi online. Aplikasi pesan makanan online menyediakan berbagai jenis makanan dari berbagai warung makan atau restoran dengan jangkauan konsumen yang luas. Pengguna aplikasi pesan antar makanan online dapat mengatur jenis, jumlah dan frekuensi makanan secra mandiri. Aplikasi ini dapat digunakan selama 24 jam, sehingga pemenuhan frekuensi makan yang baik yaitu 3 kali makanan utama dan 2 kali selingan dapat dicapai dengan mudah. Akan tetapi kemudahan membeli makanan selama 24 jam dapat berdampak negative pada asupan makan yang tidak terkontrol. Kelebihan asupan makanan dan rendahnya aktivitas fisik dapat meningkatkan berat badan berlebih. Berat badan yang berlebih sering dikaitkan dengan sejumlah faktor yang meningkatkan risiko penyakit tidak menular seperti penyakit kardiovaskular. Tujuan dari kegiatan ini adalah mengedukasi masyarakat mengenai penggunaan aplikasi pesan makanan online dengan bijak untuk mencapai status gizi yang optimal pada era adapatasi kebiasaan baru. Partisipan dalam pengabdian ini sebanyak 358 peserta. Sebelum dan  setelah  pemberian edukasi kemudian dilakukan evaluasi  dengan membagikan kuesioner melalui link google form berisi soal pre dan post test. Berdasarkan hasil uji statistik didapatkan p=0.001, artinya terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara pengetahuan masyarakat sebelum  dengan  setelah  diberikan pedukasi gizi melalui webinar. Kata kunci: edukasi gizi; aplikasi pesan antar makanan; status gizi optimal; webinar ABSTRACTIn the era of adaptation to new habits there is an increase in internet use. One of the areas that is getting a fast impact from internet technology is the culinary business field through online applications. The online food ordering application provides various types of food from various food stalls or restaurants with a wide range of consumers. Users of online food delivery applications can set the type, amount and frequency of food independently. This application can be used for 24 hours, so that the fulfillment of a good meal frequency of 3 main meals and 2 snacks can be achieved easily. However, the convenience of buying food for 24 hours can have a negative impact on uncontrolled food intake. Excess food intake and lack of physical activity can increase excess weight. Excess body weight is often associated with a number of factors that increase the risk of non-communicable diseases such as cardiovascular disease. The purpose of this activity is to educate the public about using online food ordering applications wisely to achieve optimal nutritional status in the era of adapting new habits. Participants in this service were 358 participants. Before and after the education was given, an evaluation was carried out by distributing questionnaires via a google form link containing pre and post test questions. Based on the results of statistical tests, it was found that p = 0.001, meaning that there was a significant difference between public knowledge before and after being given nutrition education through webinars. Keywords: nutrition education; food delivery application; optimal nutritional status; webinar

Abstract

Kegiatan Program IbM ini dilaksanakan pada dua kelompok ternak itik lokal, khususnya itik Pitalah, plasma nutfah Sumatera Barat di daerah asal itik tersebut yaitu di Kecamatan Batipuh Kabupaten Tanah Datar Sumatera Barat . Kelompok mitra kegiatan IbM ini adalah Kelompok peternak Parit Mudiak dan Kelompok peternak Baliang Sakato. Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk memberikan alih teknologi pada kedua kelompok ini dalam bentuk kolaborasi yang saling terintegrasi. Kelompok Parit Mudiak adalah kelompok yang beraktifitas sebagai pembibit itik lokal yang menghasilkan anak itik. Budidaya hanya dilakukan pada itik induk, penghasil telur tetas saja. Hampir semua anak itik dijual padahal lahan mereka tersedia dan permintaan terhadap itik pedaging belum terpenuhi. Harga anak itik jantan (Rp. 3000 – 3.500/ ekor) dan betina (Rp. 8.000 – 9.000/ekor) jauh berbeda. Pada kelompok ini dilakukan alih teknologi untuk menghasilkan itik pedaging (untuk itik jantan) yang rendah kolesterol melalui pemberian probiotik. Pemberian pakan untuk itik pembesaran dilakukan berbasis pakan lokal yang banyak terdapat disekeliling peternak. Kelompok Baling Bukik Sakato juga merupakan kelompok tani yang juga beternak itik, Selain itu kelompok ini aktif dalam diversifikasi produk pangan antara lain menghasilkan telur asin dan ampiang. Untuk telur asin, biasanya kelompok ini juga memanfaatkan telur sortiran dari Kelompok Parit Mudiak, sedangkan antuk menghasilkan ampiang, biasanya diambil dari anggota kelompok itu sendiri. Kegiatan alih teknologi yang akan diberikan pada kelompok Baliang Bukik Sakato adalah pengolahan itik dan telur yang dihasilkan oleh Kelompok Parit Mudiak. Telur asin dilanjutkan, sedangkan daging itik akan diolah menjadi rendang suir dan rendang itik yang dikemas dalam kemasan aluminium foil dan divacum yang bernilai dijual dan tahan lebih lama. Muara akhir dari kegiatan ini adalah pengembangan dan pelestarian plasma nutfah itik Pitalah sekaligus peningkatan pendapatan kelompok Ternak di Kecamatan Batipuh Kabupaten Tanah Datar. Metode yang digunakan dalam program pengabdian ini yaitu penyuluhan, Pelatihan, Pembinaan dan pemberian paket teknologi, sekaligus pengamatan dan pengambilan data untuk mengukur parameter keberhasilan dari program yang dijalankan.

Abstract

Lack of public understanding of natural resource management causes damage that runs relatively but the impact is cumulative so that it becomes difficult to overcome it. Through geography learning materials, especially material on natural resources, it is able to increase students' understanding of the geographical conditions of their area so that they are able to take advantage of the potential of the local area. The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of learning geography on students' understanding of the potential of the area in Central Buton Regency. This study uses a descriptive method with a quantitative approach. The sample consisted of 116 students from 5 schools in Central Buton Regency.

Abstract

Language is a basic tool of human communication, and listening is one of the four important language skills that allow a person to receive, comprehend, and react to a certain piece of information accordingly. Various multimedia applications have been created to improve students’ English listening skill, such as eBelajar Kota Banda Aceh. However, little is known about the perceptions of students regarding the effectiveness of eBelajar in improving students’ listening skill and the obstacle they face when using this application. Thus, this research attempted to investigate these issues. Seventy-six students were involved as research participants, consisting of 33 female students and 43 male students, selected through a random sampling technique. The data were collected using questionnaires and analyzed using the percentage formula. The results showed that the students perceive eBelajar Kota Banda Aceh as an effective platform to learn English listening skill, but it occasionally presents a challenge for the students when using it, which is its high dependency on the internet connection and speed. Keywords: Ebelajar, Learning English, Listening Skill, Kota Banda Aceh

Abstract

The purpose of this study is based on exploratory research to identify “Challenges in Quality of Education in HEIs of Pakistan”. The exploratory research approach is used to achieve the objectives of the study in less time and with inexpensive means. For the last few years, Pakistan is facing a lot of challenges in the education sector such as curriculum, few training institutions, corruption in education, teachers’ behavior, and less research work. Emerging Issues in the education sector are fewer training institutions and the trend toward research work which is essential to follow for the growth and strength of any economy. The purpose of our research is to identify the major challenges in the educational sector in Pakistan which the educational sector is suffering for the last few years. The researcher used triangulation to carry out the reliability and validity of the data for results. So, to conduct this triangulation the researcher used questionnaires for the students, questionnaires for the teachers, and interviews with the management. . In this regard primary data was collected from the focused group of students using a sample of 100 questionnaires for each university filled by the students of the selected five universities. The findings highlight the positive relationship of quality education with curriculum, few training institutions, corruption in education, teachers’ behavior, and less research work. These challenges caused restrictions in accomplishing competent teaching and learning with respect to quality education. According to the current situation in Pakistan, the same challenges are being faced. Keywords: Curriculum, Corruption, Teacher’s Behavior, Research Work.

Abstract

Overweight is excess body weight including muscle, bone, fat, and water. a higher incidence of overweight may lead to another epidemic such as obesity. Intake of incoming and outgoing energy must be balanced because it can cause non-communicable diseases such as the risk of cardiovascular disease, type 2 diabetes mellitus, to disorders of the musculoskeletal system. This study aimed to describe nutritional intake and physical activity in office workers in Karawang. This study involved 3 office workers, 2 women, and 1 man. The data collected is primary data consistingof interview results and food recall 1 x 24 hours. Based on the results of this study, it can be concluded that eating patterns are related to the occurrence of being overweight. The average respondent has a bad diet. Thus, a poor diet will have an impact on increasing body mass index (overweight), where food intake is not sufficient to meet the needs of women of childbearing age and are at risk of experiencing other disorders or diseases caused by excess nutrition. Conversely, intake that is less than the body's needs can cause the body to become thin and susceptible to disease. So a good diet (nutritional intake) is in accordance with the needs of the body based on age group, gender, and daily activities. Keywords: Overweight, Intake, Worker
