Abstract

This research discusses the leadership role of school principals in realizing an independent learning curriculum in educational units. The independent learning curriculum rolled out by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology aims to create a learning environment that is more adaptable and innovative in line with current trends by providing greater freedom to students and teachers in the learning process. The method used in this research is Systematic Literature Review or SLR by analyzing 10 articles from national journals published in the last 2 years, namely 2022-2023, with the topic of discussing school principal leadership and the implementation of the independent learning curriculum. The results of this research are that the leadership of the school principal is a key and significant factor in realizing an independent learning curriculum in schools. The school principal plays a very important role in inspiring and empowering teachers to implement learning that is meaningful and relevant to current developments, preparing adequate facilities and infrastructure, encouraging active participation from students and parents in supporting all school programs, and collaborating with stakeholders. This research can provide information for school principals about leadership patterns and styles that can be applied according to the situation and conditions of the school.

Abstract

This study was motivated by concerns about the low literacy levels of elementary school students and the weakening of national character values among students. The purpose of this study was to analyze the leadership of the principal of SD Negeri Banjarsari 5 Kota Serang in developing a culture of quality based on local wisdom. The approach used in this study was a qualitative approach with a case study method. This method was used to explore in depth the role of the principal in applying local wisdom values as a leadership strategy, identifying leadership characteristics, and the form of quality culture implemented in the school. Data was collected through interviews, observations, and documentation, then analyzed using data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion techniques. The results of the study indicate that school leadership based on local wisdom significantly contributes to building a culture of quality in schools. School principals apply local values such as togetherness, mutual cooperation, religiosity, exemplary behavior, and discipline as the foundation for school management. This study concludes that school leadership that integrates local wisdom is capable of creating a school environment conducive to the development of a quality culture in elementary schools.

Abstract

This study aims to describe character education implemented through an ethnopedagogical approach integrated in the learning process in elementary schools in order to shape and improve the character of students. The ethnopedagogical approach implemented at Banjar Agung 2 State Elementary School is implemented in grade 6 with Indonesian language content. The activities are divided into 3 learning phases, namely the initial activities, core activities and final activities. Ethnopedagogy in this study focuses on the local wisdom of the people of Serang City. The method used in this research is descriptive with a qualitative approach, the data is collected using observation techniques, interviews, field notes and documentation. The result is that learning by using ethnopedagogical approach is proven to be able to form and improve the character of students, namely religious, nationalist, mutual cooperation, integrity, and independent characters. The results of the discussion in this study show that the ethnopedagogical approach is open to be applied at different grade levels and subject content, depending on the level of creativity and innovation of a teacher.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the important role of information and communication technology in the implementation of education in elementary schools and the impact of the rapid development of ICT. The scope of discussion in this research starts from the definition, role, implementation, and impact of the utilization of information and communication technology in learning in elementary schools. The method used in this research is a literature study, namely collecting and analyzing previous research literature related to information communication technology. The result is that information technology has a significant role in helping the implementation of an innovative learning process. Apart from being a medium, ICT can also be a learning resource for teachers and students in elementary schools. But at the same time there are negative impacts of the development of information and communication technology. So a school teacher has an important role in controlling the use of ICT to positive things only. Therefore, teachers must be equipped with adequate digital literacy skills. The conclusion of this research is that the utilization of information and communication technology in education can enrich the learning experience of students and make the learning process more qualified. The utilization of ICT in education can also form an innovative, creative and competitive generation. In the end, the quality of education in a country can increase.
