Abstract

This study explores the effectiveness of hybrid learning models in higher education following the COVID-19 pandemic. Hybrid learning, which combines online and face-to-face instruction, became a widely adopted approach during the pandemic, and its potential to enhance student learning and engagement in the post-pandemic era is a critical area of investigation. The research aims to evaluate the impact of hybrid learning on student performance, engagement, and satisfaction, while also identifying the challenges and benefits associated with its implementation. Data were collected through a mixed-methods approach, including surveys, interviews, focus groups, and institutional data analysis. Quantitative data were analyzed to compare student performance and engagement in hybrid versus traditional learning environments, while qualitative insights were gathered from students, faculty, and administrators to understand their perceptions and experiences. The findings indicate that while hybrid learning offers significant benefits, such as flexibility and increased accessibility, it also presents challenges related to technological access, time management, and institutional support. Variability in the effectiveness of hybrid learning was observed across different academic disciplines and institutions, with some disciplines adapting more successfully than others. The study concludes with recommendations for enhancing hybrid learning practices in higher education, emphasizing the need for tailored approaches that consider disciplinary differences and institutional contexts.

Abstract

This qualitative study explores the impact of gamification on active learning and student retention in online education. It investigates the influence of game elements such as points, badges, leaderboards, and collaborative challenges on engagement and motivation among students, educators, and administrators across diverse educational settings. The study utilizes semi-structured interviews, focus groups, surveys, and observations to gather comprehensive insights into participant experiences. The findings highlight that gamification significantly enhances student engagement by offering clear objectives, immediate feedback, and a sense of accomplishment. Participants express heightened motivation and enjoyment in their learning activities, leading to increased participation levels and reduced dropout rates. Nonetheless, challenges such as balancing competitive elements and aligning gamified activities with educational goals are identified as areas for improvement. This research contributes to a deeper understanding of how gamification can effectively transform online learning environments. It offers practical recommendations for educators and institutions to optimize student engagement and retention through the strategic implementation of gamified strategies

Abstract

This study examines the morphosemantic changes in the Arabic language in the era of social media, focusing on a study of neologisms and their impact on youth communication. The research concentrates on how new terms emerge through platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram, and how these terms affect the development of the Arabic language. A qualitative approach was used, relying on descriptive analysis of data collected from observations, interviews, and documents related to the use of neologisms. The results show that neologisms have led to notable changes in word structure and meanings, with new words formed through word combinations, abbreviations, and adaptations from other languages. The study also revealed that these changes have significantly impacted how youth communicate, leading to the use of informal and easily understandable language in digital interactions. However, the increasing reliance on new terms may lead to a decline in the use of classical Arabic. The study recommends finding a balance between linguistic innovations and preserving linguistic heritage to ensure the continuity of the Arabic language in the future
