Abstract

This study aims to improve the ability to write explanatory texts in grade V students of Elementary School Laboratory, State University of Gorontalo using the Discovery Learning learning model. This type of research is Classroom Action Research (CAR), which is carried out in two cycles. The data collection techniques used are observation, testing and documentation techniques. The research process includes 4 stages: Preparation, Implementation, Monitoring and Evaluation, and Analysis and Reflection, with a total of 20 students. The results of initial observations showed that students' ability to write explanatory texts was still at a low level. Of the 20 students involved, only 5 students (25%) were able to write explanatory texts well, while 15 students (75%) were still unable. In Cycle 1 Meeting 1, the number of students who were able to write explanatory texts increased to 8 people (40%), while students who were not yet able to write explanatory texts were 12 people (60%). In Cycle 1 Meeting 2, the number of students who were able to write explanatory texts increased again to 12 people (60%), while those who were not yet able decreased to 8 people (40%). In Cycle 2 Meeting 1, the number of students who were able to write explanatory texts increased to 14 people (70%), while students who were not able to decreased to 6 people (30%). In Cycle 2 Meeting 2, the number of students who were able to write explanatory texts increased again to 18 people (90%), while those who were not able to decreased to 2 people (10%). From the results of the study, it can be concluded that the application of the Discovery Learning model can improve students' ability to write explanatory texts. ABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan menulis teks eksplanasi pada siswa kelas V SD Laboratorium Universitas Negeri Gorontalo dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran Discovery Learning. Jenis penelitian ini adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK), yang dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus. Teknik pengumpulan data yang dipakai yaitu teknik observasi, tes dan dokumentasi. Proses penelitian ini mencakup 4 tahap: Persiapan, Pelaksanaan, Pemantauan dan Evaluasi, serta Analisis dan Refleksi, dengan jumlah 20 siswa. Hasil observasi awal menunjukan bahwa kemampuan menulis teks eksplanasi siswa masih berada pada tingkat rendah. Dari 20 siswa yang terlibat, hanya 5 siswa (25%) yang mampu menulis teks eksplanasi dengan baik, sedangkan 15 siswa (75%) masih belum mampu. Pada Siklus 1 Pertemuan 1, jumlah siswa yang mampu menulis teks eksplanasi meningkat menjadi 8 orang (40%), sedangkan siswa yang belum mampu menulis teks eksplanasi sebanyak 12 orang (60%). Pada Siklus 1 Pertemuan 2, jumlah siswa yang mampu menulis teks eksplanasi meningkat lagi menjadi 12 orang (60%), sementara yang belum mampu menurun menjadi 8 orang (40%). Pada Siklus 2 Pertemuan 1, jumlah siswa yang mampu menulis teks eksplanasi mengalami peningkatatan menjadi 14 orang (70%), sementara siswa yang belum mampu menurun menjadi 6 orang (30%). Pada Siklus 2 Pertemuan 2, jumlah siswa yang mampu menulis teks eksplanasi meningkat lagi menjadi 18 orang (90%), sedangkan yang belum mampu menurun menjadi 2 orang (10%). Dari hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan model Discovery Learning dapat meningkatkan kemampuan menulis teks eksplanasi siswa.

Abstract

The objective of this research is to enhance students' speaking abilities using the role-playing learning model in the third grade at SDN 5 Bulango Selatan, Bone Bolango District. The techniques used for data collection include observation, documentation, and student ability tests. This research is classified as Classroom Action Research (CAR). The subjects of the study are 19 third-grade students at SDN 5 Bulango Selatan, Bone Bolango District. The results of the research indicate that in the initial observation, out of 19 students, only 2 students (10%) were capable of speaking. In Cycle I, Meeting 1, the number of students able to speak increased to 3, representing 16%, while 16 students (84%) were still unable to speak. In Cycle I, Meeting 2, the number of students who could speak rose to 10, or 53%, with 9 students (47%) still unable to do so. In Cycle II, there was a significant improvement, with 16 students (84%) able to speak and 3 students (16%) still unable to do so. Based on the results of this research, it can be concluded that using the role-playing model can enhance students' speaking abilities in third grade at SDN 5 Bulango Selatan, Bone Bolango District.  ABSTRAKTujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berbicara siswa menggunakan model pembelajaran role playing dikelas III SDN 5 Bulango Selatan Kabupaten Bone Bolango. Teknik yang digunakan dalam pengumpulan data adalah dengan teknik observasi, dokumentasi, dan tes kemampuan siswa. Penelitian ini merupakan jenis penelitiam tindakan kelas (PTK). Dengan subyek penelitian adalah siswa kelas III SDN 5 Bulango Selatan Kabupaten Bone Bolango sebanyak 19 siswa.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan pada observasi awal bahwa dari 19 siswa yang mampu dalam berbicara hanya 2 siswa atau 10%. Pada siklus I pertemuan I berjumlah 3 siswa atau dengan presentase 16% siswa yang mampu berbicara dan terdapat 16 siswa yang belum mampu berbicara dengan presentase 84%. Pada siklus I pertemuan II siswa yang mampu berbicara berjumlah 10 siswa dengan presentase 53% dan terdapat 9 siswa yang belum mampu berbicara dengan presentase 47%. Pada siklus II mengalami peningkatakan yang signifikan yaitu siswa yang mampu berbicara berjumlah 16 siswa dengan presentase 84% dan terdapat 3 siswa dengan presentase 16% yang belum mampu berbicara. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian tersebut, dapat disimpulkan bahwa dengan menggunakan model role playing dapat meningkatkan kemampuan siswa dalam berbicara di kelas III SDN 5 Bulango Selatan Kabupaten Bone Bolango

Abstract

This development research aims to comprehensively describe the design and validation process of innovative learning media called "Kocibantar", which was specifically developed to improve conceptual understanding of the characteristics of flat shapes in grade IV students at SDN NO. 66 Kota Timur, Gorontalo City. The subjects involved in this study were all grade IV students of the school, totaling 28 people, consisting of 16 male students and 12 female students. This study adopted a research and development (R&D) design by following the ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation) development model flow, where all systematic stages have been implemented until reaching the product feasibility evaluation phase. The data analysis technique applied combines a qualitative descriptive approach to process input from experts and users, and a quantitative descriptive approach to analyze numerical data from validation and test results. The results of the study at the evaluation stage showed a very satisfactory level of feasibility: validation by material experts produced an ideal score of 90%, assessments from media experts reached 97.5%, positive responses from teachers were recorded at 97.5%, and student responses to this media were also very good with a percentage of 91.96%. Furthermore, the effectiveness of the media in improving student learning outcomes was proven by the percentage of 90.57%. Thus, it can be concluded that the Kocibantar media that has been developed is in the category of very feasible and effective for use as an aid in student learning activities in Elementary Schools, especially in studying flat shapes. ABSTRAKPenelitian pengembangan ini bertujuan untuk menguraikan secara komprehensif proses perancangan dan validasi media pembelajaran inovatif bernama "Kocibantar", yang secara spesifik dikembangkan untuk meningkatkan pemahaman konsep mengenai ciri-ciri bangun datar pada siswa kelas IV di SDN NO. 66 Kota Timur, Kota Gorontalo. Subjek yang dilibatkan dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas IV sekolah tersebut, yang berjumlah 28 orang, terdiri dari 16 siswa laki-laki dan 12 siswa perempuan. Penelitian ini mengadopsi desain penelitian dan pengembangan (R&D) dengan mengikuti alur model pengembangan ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation), di mana seluruh tahapan sistematisnya telah dilaksanakan hingga mencapai fase evaluasi kelayakan produk. Teknik analisis data yang diterapkan mengkombinasikan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif untuk mengolah masukan dari para ahli dan pengguna, serta deskriptif kuantitatif untuk menganalisis data numerik dari hasil validasi dan tes. Hasil penelitian pada tahap evaluasi menunjukkan tingkat kelayakan yang sangat memuaskan: validasi oleh ahli materi menghasilkan skor ideal 90%, penilaian dari ahli media mencapai 97,5%, respons positif dari guru tercatat sebesar 97,5%, dan tanggapan siswa terhadap media ini juga sangat baik dengan persentase 91,96%. Lebih lanjut, efektivitas media dalam meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa terbukti dengan perolehan persentase sebesar 90,57%. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa media Kocibantar yang telah dikembangkan ini berada pada kategori sangat layak dan efektif untuk digunakan sebagai alat bantu dalam kegiatan belajar siswa di Sekolah Dasar, khususnya dalam mempelajari materi bangun datar.

Abstract

This study aims to improve the ability of third-grade students at SDN 5 Bulango Selatan, Bone Bolango Regency, to write simple sentences through the use of animated video media. The research subject consisted of 19 third-grade students. This classroom action research (CAR) employed data collection techniques including observation, documentation, and student ability tests. The findings indicate a significant improvement in student ability. In the initial observation, only 4 out of 19 students (21%) were able to write simple sentences. Following the intervention, student ability consistently increased: in Cycle I, meeting 1, 5 students (26%) demonstrated the ability to write simple sentences; this number then rose to 12 students (63%) in Cycle I, meeting 2. The most substantial improvement was observed in Cycle II, where 16 students (84%) were proficient in writing simple sentences. Only 3 students (16%) still required further guidance. Based on these results, it can be concluded that the use of animated video media is effective in enhancing students' ability to write simple sentences in the third grade at SDN 5 Bulango Selatan, Bone Bolango Regency. Subjek penelitian adalah 19 siswa kelas III SDN 5 Bulango Selatan. Penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK) ini menggunakan teknik pengumpulan data berupa observasi, dokumentasi, dan tes kemampuan siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan signifikan. Pada observasi awal, hanya 4 dari 19 siswa (21%) yang mampu menulis kalimat sederhana. Setelah implementasi tindakan, kemampuan siswa terus meningkat: pada siklus I pertemuan 1, terdapat 5 siswa (26%) yang mampu menulis kalimat sederhana; kemudian meningkat menjadi 12 siswa (63%) pada siklus I pertemuan 2. Peningkatan paling signifikan terjadi pada siklus II, di mana 16 siswa (84%) telah mampu menulis kalimat sederhana. Hanya 3 siswa (16%) yang masih memerlukan bimbingan. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut, dapat disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan media video animasi efektif meningkatkan kemampuan siswa dalam menulis kalimat sederhana di kelas III SDN 5 Bulango Selatan Kabupaten Bone Bolango.

Abstract

This research is research and development. The problem studied in this research is how to develop angle clock media in class IV angle measurement material at SDN 2 Kabila Bone? And what is the feasibility of developing angle clock medua in class IV angle measurement material at SDN 2 Kabila Bone? The purpose of this research is to determine the process of developing angle clock media in class IV angle measurement material at SDN 2 Kabila Bone. And identifying the feasibility of developing angle clock media in class IV angle measurement material at SDN 2 Kabila Bone. The subject of this research was class IV students at SDN 2 Kabila Bone, Bone Bolango Regency with a total of 21 people consisting of 9 boys and 12 girls. This research uses a research and development design that uses a development model, namely the ADDIE model. The data analysis techniques used in this research are qualitative and quantitative descriptive techniques. The results of this development research have reached the evaluation stage. Based on the results of validation by material experts, they obtained a score of 89.28%, from media experts they obtained a score of 91.66%, the results of the teacher response questionnaire obtained a percentage of 92.5%, the results of the student response questionnaire were 92.73% and for the evaluation results obtained the media obtained a percentage of 84.80%. Thus, the corner clock media developed is in the very suitable category for use in learning activities and can be continued at the next stage.
