Abstract

In contemporary organizational settings, understanding the drivers of employee performance is crucial. This research explores the relationship between intrinsic motivation, effective communication strategies, and a supportive work environment on the performance of employees at PT. Cendrawan Nusantara. Employing a mixed-method approach, this study integrates qualitative interviews and quantitative surveys, involving 77 employees over the period 2022-2023. Unlike previous studies, this research applies the Herzberg's Two-Factor Theory to motivation and uses Shannon and Weaver’s Model of Communication to examine communication strategies. Data were analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) to provide a holistic view of these relationships. Results reveal that intrinsic motivation is a principal factor affecting performance, as it enhances employees' goal orientation and work satisfaction. Effective communication strategies, particularly those that promote transparency and feedback, significantly improve performance by fostering trust and collaboration. A positive organizational climate, characterized by inclusivity and recognition, also enhances performance. The findings underscore the importance of leadership commitment in cultivating an environment that promotes these factors. Data collection was achieved through structured interviews and online questionnaires, ensuring diverse and comprehensive feedback. This study contributes to organizational behavior literature by highlighting the synergy between motivation, communication, and climate in driving performance. Such insights can guide management practices in optimizing employee potential.

Abstract

Currently, various skincare brands, both well-know and less recognized, have emerged and are widely available in many places. These brands continue to innovate to meet consumer’s needs and desires. Consumers now have greater freedom in choosing skincare products due to the wide variety of options offered. Consequently, consumers now have a wider range of options in terms of price, product quality, and brand image to meet their preferences. This study seeks to examine the impact of price, product quality, and brand image on purchase decisions. An explanatory approach is employed, utilizing a non-probability sampling method. A total 100 respondents, consisting of those who have purchased, plan to purchase, or are aware of the existence of Wardah Cosmetics, participated in this study. Data was collected online through questionnaires distributed via Google Forms on social media platforms. The data analysis was performed using SPSS 26 for Windows. The study results reveal that price, product quality, and brand image collectively have a significant impact on purchasing decisions. Individually, price has a positive and significant influence on purchasing decision. Similarly, product quality positively and significantly affects purchasing decisions, as does brand image, which also shows a positive and significant effect.

Abstract

Ramainya kehadiran Alfamart dan Indomaret di Kabupaten Musi Rawas Prov. Sumatera Selatan menimbulkan kekhawatiran bagi pelaku bisnis UMKM. Sehingga menarik minat untuk melakukan penelitian yang bertujuan menganalisis dampak yang ditimbulkan atas kehadiran Alfamart dan Indomaret bagi pelaku bisnis UMKM di Kabupaten Musi Rawas. Adapun metode penilitan yang digunakan yaitu kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif yang mana penelitian ini akan memaparkan permasalahan dan kondisi setelah ramainya kehadiran Alfamart dan Indomaret di Kabupatem Musi Rawas. Metode pengumpulan data yang dilakukan adalah obsevasi, wawancara, serta dokumentasi. Dan data yang dikumpulkan dalam penelitian ini adalah data primer dan data sekunder. Hasil penelitian menjelaskan bahwa kehadiran Alfamart dan Indomaret di Kabupaten Musi Rawas memiliki banyak perubahan, baik perubahan sosial maupun perubahan ekonomi. Bentuk perubahan perilaku konsumsi masyarakat yang semakin konsumtif, yang mampu mengalihkan orientasi berbelanja dari toko tradisional ke toko modern. Dalam perubahan ekonomi, penurunan omset penjualan, penurunan pendapatan serta daya beli yang semakin rendah sehingga dapat membuat toko tradisional lama kelamaan akan tutup karena kalah saing.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan penulisan artikel ilmiah mahasiswa melalui pelatihan teknik penulisan yang efektif. Fokus dari pelatihan adalah pada peningkatan kualitas penyusunan artikel ilmiah dan publikasi di jurnal nasional terakreditasi Sinta. Pelatihan diikuti oleh 32 mahasiswa. Metode pelatihan meliputi ceramah, diskusi dan tanya jawab. Peserta diberi pengetahuan mengenai artikel ilmiah, seperti abstrak, pendahuluan, metode, hasil, dan pembahasan, serta strategi pemilihan jurnal yang tepat dan teknik meningkatkan peluang publikasi. Hasil yang diperoleh dari kegiatan ini yaitu meningkatkan kepercayaan diri mahasiswa dalam menulis dan mengajukan artikel untuk publikasi, meningkatkan kualitas penelitian, dan membangun jaringan akademik yang mendukung kolaborasi lebih lanjut. Secara keseluruhan, pelatihan ini memberikan dampak positif yang signifikan terhadap mahasiswa, baik dalam peningkatan keterampilan penulisan ilmiah maupun motivasi untuk melanjutkan penelitian, serta diharapkan dapat meningkatkan jumlah dan kualitas publikasi di jurnal nasional terakreditasi SINTA. Simpulan utama dari kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah kegiatan ini bisa memberikan manfaat yang besar bagi mahasiswa yakni dengan memberikan edukasi tentang artikel ilmiah dan teknik menyusun artikel ilmiah, prosedur publikasi pada jurnal nasional terakreditasi SINTA serta memotivasi untuk menulis artikel ilmiah dan publikasi di jurnal nasional terakreditasi SINTA.
