Abstract

Introduction: Pain is one of the most common symptoms experienced by patients with various medical conditions. Effective pain management is essential to improve a patient's quality of life. Relaxation and touch techniques are nonpharmacological methods that can reduce Pain. This study evaluated the effectiveness of relaxation and touch techniques in lowering pain scales. Methods: This study used an experimental design with pre-test and post-test approaches. Patients with chronic pain were divided into two groups: an intervention group that received relaxation and touch techniques and a control group that did not receive an intervention. Relaxation techniques used include deep breathing, meditation, and progressive muscle relaxation. The touch techniques used are massage and therapeutic touch. The pain scale was measured using the Visual Analog Scale (VAS) before and after the intervention. Results: The management of relaxation techniques and touch distraction patients on the first- and second-days experienced changes in pain scales, but the Pain was not resolved. On the third day, the Pain was also not resolved if hyperlipidemia pressure increased, while the first day and day two experienced changes in pain scale but were not resolved, and on the third day, the Pain could be resolved with a pain scale of 0. Conclusions: Relaxation and touch techniques effectively lower pain scales in patients with chronic Pain. This method can be part of comprehensive pain management to improve a patient's quality of life. Both techniques can be used as additional methods in pain management to improve a patient's quality of life. Further studies with larger samples and extended intervention periods are needed to confirm these findings. Relaxation and touch techniques can be integrated into clinical practice as part of a multimodal approach to pain management. Education and training for health workers on the use of these techniques can improve patient acceptance and adherence.

Abstract

Background: Caring behavior plays a vital role in the nursing profession, especially in public health settings. In-home care services, where patients receive medical attention in the comfort of their homes, the quality of care and patient satisfaction depends heavily on the nurse's ability to exhibit caring behavior. Objective: This study aims to analyze and identify the relationship between the caring behavior of public health nurses and the level of patient satisfaction in homecare services. Methods: In this study, the design used is a quantitative research design with a cross-sectional study approach. According to the formula found by Isaac and Micheal, the population in this study amounted to 402 respondents, so a sample of 162 respondents was obtained. The sampling technique was Probability Sampling with a proportional random sampling type. Results: Based on the results of the cross-tabulation that has been carried out between caring behavior and patient satisfaction using the Fisher Exact test statistical test, the result is in the form of a p-value of 0.001 with a significant level of <0.05 and with this value (0.001) means less than the value a (0.05). It can indicate that Ha is accepted and Ho is rejected, and it can be concluded that caring behavior can increase patient satisfaction. Conclusion: Researchers suggest that the caring behavior of public health nurses has a vital role in increasing patient satisfaction with homecare services. Nurses can help patients feel more comfortable and supported in their home environment through more personalised attention, effective communication, and emotional support. This contributes directly to increased patient satisfaction, which feels valued and cared for holistically in home care.

Abstract

Introduction: Stunting is a public health problem that is still high in Indonesia, especially in rural areas. This condition has a long-term impact on a child's physical growth, cognitive development, and quality of life. Community nurses have an important role to play in stunting prevention and management efforts, particularly through a more holistic and sustainable family-based approach. Research Objectives To identify and analyze the strategies used by community nurses in tackling stunting through a family approach, as well as to understand the challenges faced in implementing these strategies at the community level.

Abstract

Stunting remains a significant public health issue that affects children’s growth and development, with long-term consequences for cognitive capacity, productivity, and overall quality of life. One effective strategy to overcome this issue is through the empowerment of health cadres as the frontline in early detection and family-based prevention efforts. This community service program aims to enhance the role and capacity of health cadres in identifying risk factors, conducting routine monitoring, and implementing preventive measures to address stunting within families. The method applied includes training, mentoring, and participatory workshops, focusing on knowledge improvement and practical skills related to nutrition, growth monitoring, and family education. Health cadres are also equipped with communication skills to enhance awareness and behavior change among parents, thereby fostering a supportive environment for children’s optimal growth. The results show increased knowledge and confidence of cadres in identifying early signs of stunting, as well as improved community participation in monitoring children’s nutritional status. Furthermore, family engagement in preventive practices, such as providing a balanced diet and maintaining hygiene, demonstrated a significant enhancement. This initiative demonstrates that empowering health cadres not only enhances early detection but also promotes sustainable, family-based stunting prevention. Therefore, community-based health empowerment is a strategic approach that can contribute substantially to reducing stunting prevalence and improving child health outcomes in the long term.
