Abstract

Background: Seagrass is an angiosperm flowering plant that can grow well in coastal environments. Seagrass is a one seed plant that has roots, stems, rhizomes, leaves, flowers, fruit and seeds. Differences in substrate type, environmental conditions and nutrient content can influece the existence of seagrass species and their morphometric shapes.This research aims to determine the morphometric of seagrass in the intertidal zone of coastal waters of Malaku Administrative Village, North Seram Sub-district Methods: Sampling used a roaming survey method in the intertidal zone of coastal waters of Malaku Administrative Village. The research data were analyzed descriptively based on the results of species identification, observations and measurements of the segrass morphological structure. Results : The type of seagrass found in the intertidal zone of the coastal waters of the Malaku Administrative village is Cymodocea serulata, Cymodocea rotundata, Halophila ovalis, Halophila minor, Halodule pinifolia, Halodule uninervis, Thalassia hemprichii, and Syringodium isoetifolium. Morphometric forms of seagrass include : Root length ±3cm-16,5cm. Rhizome distance ±1cm–4,5cm. leaf blade length ± 2,4cm-15cm. The shape of the leaf blade is flat, oval, cylindrical, serrated at the tip of the leaf and small in length. Leaf width ±0,2cm-1cm, seagrass stand heigth ± 3-19,3cm. Conclusion: From the research results obtained, it can be concluded that the intertidal zone of the coastal wters of the malaku administrative village are 8 (eigth) types of seagrass and have morphometric structure that vary in size.

Abstract

Background: In Maluku Province, especially in Riring village, there is one variety of salak, namely red salak, which has a nutritional content, namely vitamin C. Vitamin C is a nutrient that acts as an antioxidant. This study aimed to determine the effect of the harvesting age of salak on vitamin C levels in red salak fruit. Methods: This study is an experimental study using a completely randomized design (CRD) with three replications to determine the average vitamin C levels. Analysis of vitamin C levels using the titration method. The data obtained were analyzed using T-test analysis. Results: Based on the study results, the average vitamin C content at harvest age is four months (12.45%), and the average vitamin C content at harvest age is six months (9.53%). The results of the T-test analysis showed that there was a significant effect between the two harvest ages because t-count (19.674)>t-table (2.776). This condition happens because vitamin C is a type of vitamin that is easily oxidized. Conclusion: There is a significant effect between vitamin C levels of red salak fruit aged four months and six months old, where t-count (19.674)> t-table (2.776).

Abstract

Ferns (Pteridohyta) are cormophyte plants that have spores and are able to live in varying environmental conditions. The diversity of fern species can be identified through identification activities. Identification is the initial process in classifying a type of plant. Ferns are widely found in the STKIP Gotong Royong Masohi campus environment, but their species are not yet known. Therefore, this study aims to identify the types of ferns in the STKIP Gotong Royong Masohi campus environment. The type of research used is descriptive exploratory with a qualitative approach. This research was conducted in the STKIP Gotong Royong Masohi campus environment in August 2024. This research consists of 4 stages, namely the preparation stage, the sampling stage and the fern type identification stage. Based on the research results, it is known that there are 7 families and 9 types of ferns found in the STKIP Gotong Royong Masohi campus environment, namely Phymatosorus sclopendria, Cristella dentata, Asplenium nidus, Nephrolepis biserrata, Selaginella Sp, Pyrrosia lanceolata, Davallia denticulata, Lygodium flexuosum, and Pteris ensiformis.
