Abstract

Foodborne disease refers to a condition when the body is affected by microbial toxins or substances that enter through the consumption of food. The World Health Organization (WHO) has reported that around 1 in 10 individuals worldwide fall ill and experience 420,000 fatalities annually due to foodborne illnesses or food poisoning. Additionally, these incidents result in a loss of 33 million years of healthy life each year. The objective of the study is to assess the ambient and personal hygiene conditions and their impact on the presence of harmful microorganisms in food during culinary excursions in Kanggano Rajo. This study was employed a quantitative research approach with a descriptive design and a cross-sectional research design. The study population consists of 101 individuals engaged in the street vendors culinary items during the Culinary Tour of Tanggo Rajo. The findings indicated that 68.5% of the respondents needed to fulfill their hygiene preferences. Additionally, study was reported unsuitable environmental sanitation conditions, 57.4% reported inadequate water condition, 77.8% reported improper waste handling, 81.5% reported inadequate waste disposal, and 100% reported insufficient vector control. The microbiological test results revealed the presence of Enterobacter Hafniae in 2 samples, enterobacter aerogenes in 16 samples, and Klebsiella Azaenae in 36 samples. Empowering and enhancing education in all critical sectors is advisable while ensuring effective monitoring and evaluation.

Abstract

Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is a major contributor to illness and death. COPD can result in the obstruction of airflow and disturbance of the respiratory system. These symptoms have a tendency to be enduring and progressively worse. In Indonesia, the number of persons affected by COPD is estimated to be 9.2 million, with smokers being the primary cause of COPD cases. Hence, the objective of this study was to determine the risk variables linked to the occurrence of COPD among smokers in Bandung City in 2022. This study employed a cross-sectional design, with a sample size of 189 smokers aged over 40 years in Bandung City. The participants were selected via total sampling. This study employed secondary research methodology, utilising chi-square and binary regression analysis for data analysis. The findings indicated that the prevalence of high-risk COPD cases in Bandung City in 2022 was 12.7%. An relationship was seen between age, smoking intensity, namely 20-30 packs of cigarettes per year, and level of physical activity. After controlling for age, physical activity, and degree of smoking, the primary cause of the increased risk of COPD was the consumption of 20-30 packs of cigarettes per year (PR= 11.34; 95% CI = 1.65 to 77.67). This study highlights the significance of lifestyle interventions, such as smoking cessation programmes and CERDIK's behaviours, in managing COPD.

Abstract

Bencana asap akibat kebakaraan hutan sangat serius terjadi di Provinsi Jambi termasuk di Kabupaten Muaro Jambi. Angka insidensi ISPA selama masa darurat bencana asap tercatat 900 hingga 1500 kasus per minggu selama bulan September sampai November 2015.

Integrated Antenatal Care (ANC) is a health service for pregnant women based on the 10T standard. The main goal is to reduce the maternal mortality rate (MMR), infant mortality rate (IMR) and the probability of mother and child. In its implementation, midwives play an important role so that the performance of midwives greatly affects the quality of Integrated ANC services. In Jambi City, the coverage of Integrated ANC services at the Puskesmas has not yet reached the minimum service standard target of 100% of KI 97.1%, K4 coverage of 94.9% and K6 of 92.3%. The purpose of this study was to determine the factors associated with the performance of midwives in integrated ANC services. This type of research is quantitative with a cros sectional approach. The location of this research was carried out at all Puskesmas in the Jambi City area in November-December 2024. The number of samples was 70 respondents, with the Porpotional random sampling technique. The results showed that there was a significant relationship between motivation with a p value of 0.032 and institutional  leadership with the performance of midwives in Integrated ANC services with a p value of 0.016, while experience did not have a significant relationship with the performance of midwives in Integrated ANC services with a p value of 0.088.
