Abstract

Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) remains a serious health issue in Semarang City, particularly in Bandarharjo Sub-district. In an effort to address this problem, a community service activity titled "Socialization of Dengue Fever and Practice of Making Ovitrap in Bandarharjo Sub-district, Semarang" was conducted. The main objective of this activity is to increase public knowledge about the dangers of DHF and its prevention methods, with a focus on making simple ovitraps as one of the methods to control the population of Aedes aegypti mosquitoes. The event was attended by health cadres from RW. 6 in Bandarharjo Sub-district, with 27 participants actively participating. The topics covered included information about DHF, Aedes mosquitoes, the WINGKO program (Wolbachia in Semarang City), and the practice of making ovitraps. The outcome of this activity is expected to enhance public awareness of DHF, reduce DHF cases, and improve the community's ability to prevent DHF independently.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to increase public knowledge and awareness of infectious and non-infectious diseases as part of efforts to establish an ESD-based Healthy Independent Village in Muktiharjo Kidul Village, Semarang City. The methods employed included health education and awareness campaigns through interactive outreach sessions conducted in collaboration with the Semarang City Health Department, case discussions, post-activity questionnaires, and the distribution of educational pamphlets containing information on disease types, risk factors, and preventive measures for both infectious and non-infectious diseases. The activity was evaluated using quantitative and qualitative descriptive analysis techniques. The results indicated strong support from the village government regarding program sustainability, as well as high levels of community enthusiasm toward the activities. Initial assessments showed that the knowledge levels of health cadres varied considerably, with notable gaps in several topics, particularly scabies (14.89%) and leptospirosis. Following the educational intervention, the community demonstrated positive responses, active participation, and increased awareness of the importance of behavior- and environment-based disease prevention. In addition, the activity produced educational pamphlets that were used as tools for disseminating information at the family and community levels. The ESD approach also encouraged the active involvement of health cadres as agents of change in supporting the sustainability of community-based health programs.

Abstract

Universitas Nasional Karangturi currently does not have a web-based periodic health tracking system to support the management and monitoring of health information for its academic community. Consequently, the university has not yet established an integrated platform for recording health data, maintaining health histories, or providing reliable health information to support decision-making related to campus health services. This study aims to develop a web-based periodic health tracking system for the academic community of Universitas Nasional Karangturi. The research employed the Research and Development (R&D) method using the Waterfall software development model, which consists of requirements analysis, system design, implementation, testing, and maintenance. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and literature review. The system was developed using Laravel 12 as the framework, PHP 8.2 as the programming language, MySQL as the database management system, XAMPP as the local web server environment, and Figma for designing the user interface. The developed application provides features including user authentication, user management, health record management, health history, health information, health references, periodic health examination scheduling, and a support ticketservice. The implementation of User Interface (UI) and User Experience (UX) principles ensures that the system is intuitive, efficient, and user-friendly for both administrators and users. Functional testing was conducted using the Black Box Testing method, and the results demonstrated that all system features performed according to the specified functional requirements without critical errors. Therefore, the proposed system is considered suitable for implementation as a digital solution to support periodic health tracking and improve health information management for the academic community at Universitas Nasional Karangturi.
