Abstract

This research was conducted from July to September 2021 for 42 days at the Hall of Brackish Water Fish Seed, Kepulauan Meranti Regency, Riau. This study aims to determine the best dose for addition of probiotics to the maintenance media for the growth rate and survival of seabass. This study used completely randomized design (CRD) of one factor consisting of five levels of treatment and three replications. The treatments applied are (P0) control without probiotics (P1) with a dose of 2.5 mL/m3, (P2) with a dose of 5 mL/m3, (P3) with a dose of 10 mL/m3, and (P4) with a dose of 12.5 mL/m3. Research results show that P4 gives the best results of the water quality such as temperature ranges from 27.67-29˚C; water pH ranges from 6.67-7.37; dissolved oxygen (DO) ranges from 4.9-5.53; and ammonia ranges from 0.00138-0.00513. Absolute weight growth of 11.67 g; absolute length growth of 12.33 cm; specific growth rate of 3.78%; survival of 100%; feed efficiency 104.67%; and food conversion ratio (FCR) of 0.95

Abstract

This research aim to determine the optimal dose of additional herbal supplements in feed toward the growth performance and survival rate of red tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) by using recirculation system. This research was conducted on November 01-December 10, 2021 at Laboratory of aquaculture technology, Marine and Fisheries Faculty, University of Riau. This research was using experimental method by completely random design (RAL) one factor with three replications. The treatments were: A: 0 mL/kg of feed (control), B: 50 mL/kg of feed, C: 75 mL/kg of feed, and D: 100 mL/kg of feed. The herbal supplements were consisted of turmeric, and ginger with Bacillus sp. and yeast (Rhizopus oligosporus). The results showed that a different doses of additional herbal supplements affecting the growth performance and the survival rate of catfish using recirculation system. In addition, it also affected the absolute weight growth, absolute length growth, feed efficiency and feed conversion ratio. The optimal dose was at 100 mL/kg of feed as it showed significantly different results compared to control. So that while being applied in terms of economy, 100 mL/kg was the most efficient dose, by giving the specific growth rate was 1,55%, survival rate was 98,3%, absolute weight growth was 8,67 g, absolute length was 6,23 cm, feed efficiency was 79,53% and feed conversion ratio was 1,26.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the best dose of papain in commercial feed to increase the growth of Climbing perch (Anabas testudineus). The research container used was a black bucket with a round shape with a volume of 100 L with a stocking density of 20 fish/container or 400 fish/m3. This study used an experimental method with a completely randomized design (CRD) with one factorial, five treatments and three replications. The treatment applied was feeding containing papain enzyme with different doses, namely P0= without the addition of papain enzyme, P1= addition of papain enzyme 1.25%/kg feed, P2= addition of papain enzyme 2.25%/kg feed, P3= papain enzyme 3.25%/kg feed and P4= addition of papain enzyme 4.25%/kg feed. The results showed a significant effect (P<0.05) on absolute weight, absolute length, specific growth rate, feed conversion ratio, enzyme activity and there was no significant effect (P>0.05) on the survival rate. The best growth rate was found in treatment P3 with absolute weight value: 4.70±0.18 g, absolute length: 2.0±0.20 cm, specific growth rate: 2.21±0.02% per day, survival: 100 %, feed conversion ratio: 1.26±0.03 %, and number of enzymes: 0.0716±0.0007 IU/mL, and with the growth of the average weight of water spinach 60.08 g and the average length of water spinach 100.4 cm in P1 treatment.

This study aims to determine the best doses of bromelin enzyme in commercial feed to increase the growth and survival rate of gouramy seeds in the aquaponic recirculation system. The research was carried out in February 20 to April 30, 2019 at the Fish Hatchery Unit, Faculty of Fisheries and Marine, Riau University. The fish were kept in a bucket with volume of 40 L water and stocking density of 20 ind/40 L. L using experimental method of completely randomized design (RAL), one factor with three treatments and three replications. The treatments were P0 = without the addition of bromelain enzymes, P1 = addition of bromelain enzymes 1.5% /kg of feed, P2 = addition of bromelain enzymes 2.25% /kg of feed and, P3 = Addition of bromelin enzymes 3% /kg of feed. The results showed that the administration of bromelin enzymes with different doses in the feed in aquaponic recirculation system culture showed an influence on weight growth, absolute length, specific growth rate, feed efficiency, feed conversion ratio and survival of gouramy. The best treatment was obtained in P3, namely administration of bromelain enzymes at a dose of 3% / kg of feed with an absolute growth weight value of 20.43g, absolute growth length 2.50 cm, specific growth rate 1.08%, feed conversion 1.16 and fish survival rate 88.3. %. The quality of water during the study were temperature 27-28.6 0C, pH 6.5-7.3, dissolved oxygen 4.8-6.3 ppm and ammonia 0.02-0.08 mg / L
