Abstract

Implementing the Borg & Gall model in science education is highly significant for creating educational products that are adaptive, relevant, and based on real-world needs. This research utilized a literature review method with data processed using descriptive analysis. Three relevant journals were identified for this study. Based on the literature review conducted on these three journals, the development of instructional media using the Borg & Gall development model in science learning had a positive impact on improving student learning outcomes. An interesting area for future research would be to apply the Borg & Gall model to other study focuses or subject areas to further develop knowledge regarding the Borg & Gall development model.

Abstract

The potential of biodiversity owned by Nature Tourism Park Kerandangan is very large and has not been studied in depth, one of which is the potential for butterfly diversity. Butterflies are animals from the insect group that have special characteristics of wings consisting or composed of scales. The method we used during butterfly observations was the explorative survey method by selecting certain areas as stations. With a sampling technique using purposive sampling, namely a deliberate sampling technique according to the required sample requirements. In the results of this butterfly diversity observation using the Shannon-Wiener diversity formula. With the number of individual butterflies in each block, namely the intensive use block with a total of 138, the limited use block with 79 individuals, the protection block with 55 individuals, and the rehabilitation block with 58 individuals. The results of this study indicate that Nature Tourism Park Kerandangan has a high potential for butterfly diversity, especially in the intensive use block, which indicates the importance of this area as a natural habitat that needs to be managed properly to maintain ecosystem balance. It is recommended that further, more in-depth and comprehensive research be conducted on biodiversity throughout the Kerandangan Nature Tourism Park area block, as well as the implementation of appropriate conservation strategies to protect butterfly species and increase public awareness of the importance of biodiversity conservation.

Abstract

The Real Work Lecture (KKN) in the 2023 Independent Study activity was held at the Kerandangan Nature Tourism Park, Keranganangan Hamlet, Senggigi Village, Batu Layar District, West Lombok Regency. This activity carries the theme "Edu-Ecotourism" and aims to apply the knowledge gained in college in a real context in society. The KKN program consists of main and additional programs. The main program includes socialization of activities and study results to the community, as well as education on the concept of Edu-Ecotourism to children through learning about butterflies and educational competitions. Meanwhile, additional programs include participation in Ramadan Safari activities, takjil distribution, involvement in religious and community events, and Clean Friday activities. All of these activities aim to foster awareness and community involvement in environmental conservation, especially the Kerandangan Nature Tourism Park area. Education to children is expected to be a long-term effort in preserving nature through a fun and community-based approach. This KKN activity was carried out for 5 days with a total time of 40 hours.

Abstract

The mangrove ecosystem is one of the coastal ecosystems that plays an important role in climate change mitigation due to its ability to absorb and store large amounts of carbon, especially in sediments (below ground carbon). Sedimentary carbon is relatively stable and stored for a long period of time, making its presence an important indicator in blue carbon studies. This study aims to analyze the potential of mangrove sediment carbon storage in Bagek Kembar Village and Cemara Beach, Lembar Selatan Village, West Lombok Regency. The study was conducted from August to December 2025 using a quantitative descriptive method. Sediment sampling was carried out by purposive sampling in three mangrove zones, namely the front, middle, and back zones. In each zone, sediment samples were taken at three depth intervals, namely 0–30 cm, 30–60 cm, and 60–100 cm, resulting in a total of 18 samples analyzed. Analysis of organic matter and sediment carbon content was carried out using the Loss on Ignition (LOI) method, while bulk density was used as a physical parameter of the sediment for calculating sediment carbon stocks. The results of the study showed that the bulk density value of mangrove sediment in Bagek Kembar Village ranged from 0.51–0.62 g/cm³ with an average of 0.57 g/cm³, while at Cemara Beach, Lembar Selatan Village ranged from 0.44–0.69 g/cm³ with an average of 0.60 g/cm³. The carbon stock of mangrove sediment in Bagek Kembar Village was higher than that of Cemara Beach, Lembar Selatan Village. This difference was influenced by the density of mangrove vegetation, the organic matter content of sediment, as well as the environmental characteristics and water dynamics at each location. This study shows that both locations have good potential as sediment carbon stores and need to be managed sustainably.
