Information Technology Transformation to Support Economic Activities: A Case Study of Bukit Peramun Digital Forest Dwi Ayu Lestari

Abstract

Bukit Peramun, located in Air Selumar Village, Belitung Regency, has been managed by the Arsel Community since 2006. In 2017, it was established as the Bukit Peramun Digital Forest ecotourism destination. This research aims to analyze the impact of information technology transformation at Bukit Peramun Digital Forest on economic activities, particularly for the local community. This study employs a qualitative method with a case study approach through observation and interviews with purposively selected informants. In 2017, the implemented information technology was QR Codes on trees. Then, from 2020 to 2022, the technology was enhanced by integrating virtual reality and augmented reality, including features like Tour 360, the Tree Recognition application, and an online reservation system through peramun.com. The results show that the information technology transformation at Bukit Peramun Digital Forest improved management efficiency and tourist experiences. Although there was a decline in revenue, foreign tourist visits showed an increase. The technological transformation also helped control visitor numbers, which positively impacted environmental conservation, with more efficient service quality and management.

Abstract

Abstrak Program pelatihan "Klinik Literasi Ekonomi dan Peran UMKM dalam Perekonomian Indonesia" bertujuan untuk meningkatkan literasi keuangan dan kesiapan digital pelaku UMKM di Kota Tangerang Selatan. Metode yang digunakan berupa diskusi interaktif dan studi kasus berbasis kebutuhan lapangan. Evaluasi melalui pre-test dan post-test terhadap 26 peserta menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan, dengan rata-rata nilai meningkat dari 68,87 menjadi 82,93 (p-value = 0,000). Hasil ini mengindikasikan keberhasilan pendekatan berbasis studi kasus dalam memperkuat pemahaman peserta. Program ini dapat direplikasi sebagai model pemberdayaan UMKM berbasis kolaborasi antara akademisi, pemerintah, dan lembaga keuangan. Kata kunci: UMKM; literasi ekonomi; digitalisasi; klinik ekonomi; Tangerang Selatan Abstract The training program titled “Economic Literacy Clinic and the Role of MSMEs in Indonesia’s Economy” aims to enhance the financial literacy and digital readiness of MSME actors in South Tangerang City. The methods employed included interactive discussions and case studies tailored to field needs. An evaluation involving pre-test and post-test assessments of 26 participants showed a significant improvement, with the average score increasing from 68.87 to 82.93 (p-value = 0.000). These results indicate the success of the case-based approach in strengthening participants’ understanding. Abstract

AbstrakTransformasi pendidikan abad ke-21 menuntut guru memiliki kemampuan untuk mengintegrasikan literasi ekonomi dan literasi digital dalam proses pembelajaran. Namun, pelaksanaan pembelajaran di sekolah masih menghadapi berbagai tantangan, seperti keterbatasan kompetensi digital guru, rendahnya integrasi pembelajaran kontekstual, serta minimnya penggunaan media pembelajaran berbasis teknologi. Program pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kompetensi guru dalam mengintegrasikan literasi ekonomi dan digital melalui program pelatihan dan pendampingan yang berfokus pada pembelajaran kontekstual berbasis teknologi. Program ini dilaksanakan di SMAN 1 Namang dengan melibatkan delapan guru bidang Ilmu Pengetahuan Sosial sebagai peserta. Metode pelaksanaan meliputi analisis kebutuhan, pelatihan penggunaan media digital, praktik mengajar, monitoring, dan evaluasi program. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi, kuesioner, dokumentasi, dan refleksi peserta. Hasil program menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pemahaman guru terhadap literasi ekonomi dan digital, peningkatan keterampilan dalam menggunakan media pembelajaran digital, serta pengembangan perangkat pembelajaran inovatif berbasis teknologi. Hasil observasi menunjukkan bahwa 84% peserta mampu menerapkan pembelajaran kontekstual berbasis digital secara mandiri setelah program pendampingan. Program ini juga memberikan dampak positif terhadap motivasi guru dalam menciptakan lingkungan pembelajaran yang inovatif serta mendukung transformasi digital pendidikan di sekolah. Kata kunci: literasi ekonomi; literasi digital; pembelajaran kontekstual; teknologi pendidikan. Abstract      The transformation of 21st-century education requires teachers to possess the ability to integrate economic literacy and digital literacy into the learning process. However, the implementation of learning in schools still faces various challenges, such as limited teachers’ digital competencies, low integration of contextual learning, and minimal use of technology-based learning media. This community service program aims to enhance teachers’ competencies in integrating economic and digital literacy through training and mentoring programs focused on technology-based contextual learning. The program was conducted at SMAN 1 Namang involving eight teachers in the Social Sciences field as participants. The implementation methods included needs analysis, training in the use of digital media, teaching practice, monitoring, and program evaluation. Data were collected through observation, questionnaires, documentation, and participant reflections. The results of the program indicated an improvement in teachers’ understanding of economic and digital literacy, enhanced skills in using digital learning media, and the development of innovative technology-based learning tools. Observation results showed that 84% of participants were able to independently implement digital-based contextual learning after the mentoring program. The program also had a positive impact on teachers’ motivation to create innovative learning environments and support the digital transformation of education in schools. Keywords: economic literacy; digital literacy; contextual learning; educational technology.

Abstract

Poverty remains a development challenge in the Bangka Belitung Islands Province. This study aims to analyze the effect of oil palm plantation extensification on poverty levels in districts/cities in the Bangka Belitung Islands Province during the 2017–2024 period. The study uses panel data from seven districts/cities with 56 observations and is analyzed using panel data regression. The Hausman test results show that the Random Effect Model is the best model. The estimation results indicate that the area of oil palm plantations has a negative and significant effect on poverty levels. However, the effect size is relatively small, so poverty reduction requires improvements in productivity and plantation efficiency.
