Abstract

The no-repeat-grade policy in Indonesia aims to enhance accessibility and equality regarding education for students in primary schools, by offering opportunities for students to continue to move up even if their academic grades do not meet the set standards. This study aims to analyze the impact of the policy on student learning motivation through literature review. Using the library research method, this study collects and analyzes literature related to policies without leaving the classroom and learning motivation theory. The results of the study show that this policy has double implications for student learning motivation. On the one hand, students feel safer and less stressed by the threat of failure, which can increase their intrinsic motivation. However, on the other hand, this policy has the potential to reduce extrinsic motivation, as students no longer feel threatened by exams or failures that affect their graduation. This decrease in external motivation can have an impact on the quality of long-term learning. Therefore, to maintain students’ motivation to learn, there needs to be adjustments in teaching methods and the role and support of parents and teachers in creating challenges that remain relevant. This research contributes to understanding the impact of the policy without leaving the classroom on students’ learning motivation, as well as recommendations for more effective policy implementation.

Abstract

This study explores the law of ar-Radha’ah (breastfeeding) in Islam, examining it through the lens of the Qur'an, hadith, and the ijtihad of the Companions. Breastfeeding has implications beyond biological needs, affecting legal relationships like mahram and marriage restrictions. While ar-Radha’ah is addressed in the Qur'an and hadith, evolving societal and legal contexts call for further understanding and application. This study, therefore, examines the Companions' use of ijtihad to clarify these laws in response to issues of their time. The study aims to analyze the legal foundations of ar-Radha’ah in the Qur'an and hadith, emphasizing the role of the Companions' ijtihad in its development. Using descriptive qualitative analysis and a literature review, it includes Qur'anic verse interpretation, hadith study, and the perspectives of Companions and scholars. The findings reveal that ar-Radha’ah significantly influences the formation of mahram relationships, restricting marriage between specific individuals. This law is rooted in the Qur'an (Surah An-Nisa: 23) and authentic hadith and is reinforced by the Companions' ijtihad, such as Umar bin Khattab's contribution to setting a breastfeeding limit for establishing mahram ties. The Companions' interpretations have shaped a more detailed legal understanding, providing a flexible and contextual foundation. This study contributes to enhancing the modern relevance of ar-Radha'ah, aligning with Islamic law's focus on public interest.

Abstract

This study explores the crucial role of strategic management in developing competency-based curricula (CBC) in educational institutions. CBC emphasizes students’ competency achievement, ensuring alignment with labor market demands and contemporary advancements. The integration of strategic management in curriculum development is essential in planning, executing, and evaluating educational programs to maintain their relevance to both student needs and national education standards. Utilizing a literature review method with a qualitative descriptive approach, this study examines how strategic management influences the design and implementation of CBC. The findings indicate that effective strategic management significantly enhances curriculum quality by considering various factors, including industrial demands, educational policies, and global learning trends. A well-managed competency-based curriculum ensures that students acquire the necessary skills and knowledge to thrive in a rapidly changing professional landscape. The study also highlights challenges in implementing CBC, such as the need for continuous curriculum updates, collaboration between educational institutions and industries, and the integration of digital learning tools. To overcome these challenges, institutions must adopt adaptive and data-driven management strategies. Regular assessments, stakeholder involvement, and the use of technology-driven insights can help optimize curriculum effectiveness and maintain its alignment with evolving industry needs. Strategic management serves as a key driver in the successful development and implementation of CBC. By embracing proactive planning and evaluation, educational institutions can create a dynamic and future-ready learning environment that equips students with the competencies required in the modern workforce

Abstract

This study analyzes the foundational principles, curriculum structure, and contemporary contributions of Salafi Islamic educational institutions in Indonesia, focusing on their adherence to the manhaj salaf methodology. Employing a qualitative conceptual analysis through a structured literature review of 34  scholarly sources from 2010 to 2024, it explores the theological underpinnings, pedagogical approaches, and institutional responses to modernity. Salafi education prioritizes the purification of Islamic teachings, emphasizing tawḥīd, memorization of the Qur’an and ḥadīth, and traditional instructional methods such as halaqah and talaqqī. Secular knowledge integration remains minimal and strategic, preserving doctrinal orthodoxy. The institutions contribute significantly to moral and character development by fostering ethical discipline grounded in prophetic teachings. While cautious, selective adaptations to globalization and technological advances are evident, ensuring educational relevance without compromising core values. Limitations include reliance on textual analysis without empirical fieldwork, prompting recommendations for future research on practical implementations and comparative pedagogical models. The study underscores Salafi education’s vital role in maintaining Islamic orthodoxy and moral integrity within Indonesia’s pluralistic context, advocating for ongoing epistemological dialogue to balance doctrinal fidelity and educational openness.

Abstract

The implementation of active learning at the Tahfizh Kiswah School aims to increase student involvement in memorising the Qur'an. The contribution of Tarbiyah students of the MPI and PGMI Study Programs in this service is in the form of the application of interactive and active participation-based learning methods, such as group discussions, role plays, and project-based learning. This method is expected to accelerate the process of memorisation, and students' understanding of the verses taught. Active learning is expected to increase student motivation, reduce boredom, and deepen understanding of the meaning of the Qur'an. The results of this service show that students are more active in participating in learning activities, thereby improving the quality of teaching at the Tahfizh Kiswah School. With the application of this method, it is hoped that a more fun and productive learning atmosphere can be created, as well as strengthen students' skills in memorising the Quran.
