Abstract

Abstract

This article discusses the urgency of reconstructing interactive and digital-based educational methodologies as a solution to face the ever-changing developments of the times. By looking at the challenges of stagnant traditional education, such as methodological conservatism and lack of utilization of technology, this article uses the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method to explore various studies related to the use of digital platforms in education. Through an analysis of digital media such as Kahoot! and Duolingo, it highlights how interactive features can increase student engagement, motivate learning, and strengthen critical thinking. Some solutions to overcome the problems of digital media education include; improving technological infrastructure, digital competency training for teachers, and integrating technology with the curriculum as a whole.

Abstract

This research was motivated by the decline in students’ interest in batik learning. Batik lessons were generally delivered through conventional teaching methods, supported by limited learning time and very restricted teaching materials, which caused students to be less enthusiastic about participating in classroom activities. To address this problem, teachers introduced flipbook-based learning media as an innovation to create a more effective, efficient, and engaging learning process while supporting the achievement of learning objectives. The purpose of this study was to increase students’ learning motivation through the use of flipbook learning media in batik lessons. This study employed a descriptive quantitative research method involving a sample of 26 students. Data were collected to measure changes in students’ motivation after the implementation of the flipbook media. The findings showed that the use of flipbooks successfully increased students’ learning motivation by 81%, which was categorized as very high. The results indicate that flipbook media can provide a more attractive and interactive learning experience, help students understand batik learning materials more easily, and encourage greater participation during the learning process. Therefore, flipbook learning media can be considered an effective alternative for improving student motivation and supporting more meaningful batik learning in classroom activities.

Abstract

Islamic Religious Education (IRE) requires authentic learning experiences that enable students not only to understand Islamic values conceptually but also to practice them through real-life activities. This study aims to analyze the learning process in baking classes, the implementation of Project-Based Learning (PjBL), and its integration with Islamic Religious Education values. A descriptive qualitative approach was employed in baking classes conducted at Onty Cake, Bakery and Resto, Pekalongan. Data were collected through six observations, semi-structured interviews with eight students, four accompanying teachers, and two mentors, as well as documentation. Data credibility was strengthened through source and method triangulation, member checking, and persistent observation. The findings show that baking classes involve instruction, preparation, product creation, guidance, group work, product completion, and evaluation, reflecting key characteristics of PjBL. Students’ levels of involvement were adjusted according to their ages and abilities through varying levels of activity complexity. Each project stage also provided opportunities to introduce, habituate, and practice Islamic values, including prayer, cleanliness (thahārah), the use of halālan ṭayyiban ingredients, responsibility (amānah), cooperation (ta’āwun), discipline, and gratitude. The findings demonstrate that PjBL and Islamic Religious Education can be integrated through authentic activities beyond formal classrooms by positioning project completion as a space for experiencing Islamic values. However, the evidence indicates value habituation and practice rather than deep and lasting internalization. Thus, baking classes provide a contextual, student-centered approach integrating cognitive, affective, and psychomotor dimensions of Islamic Religious Education.
