Abstract

Amphibians, categorized as vertebrate animals and characterized as poikilotherms, comprise three main groups known as Caudata, Gymnophiona, and Anura, with the latter commonly recognized as frogs or toads. The objective of this study is to examine the morphology and morphometrics of various frog species in Meurandeh Dayah Village, Langsa City. The research employs quantitative methods to facilitate a comparative analysis of each sample. The findings reveal the presence of six shutter species: Fejervarya cancrivora, Hylarana macrodactyia, Rana erythraea, Hylarana nicobariensis, Hyperolius horstockii, and Hylarana erythraea. The morphometric measurements conducted on these Rana species demonstrate distinctive morphological variations among them.

Abstract

Stomata, which are specialized cells on the surface of leaves, undergo modification to form structures containing two guard cells. These cells play a crucial role in facilitating the exchange of water vapor and gases between the plant's internal environment and the surrounding atmosphere. Typically located on plant parts exposed to air, such as leaves, stems, and rhizomes, stomata distribution varies among different species. While some plants exhibit stomata on both upper and lower leaf surfaces, others, like water lilies, exclusively feature stomata on the upper side.The objective of the current investigation was to analyze the stomatal anatomy of various plant species within the Euphorbiaceae family. Employing a qualitative descriptive approach, the study aimed to characterize and interpret the stomatal types present on the leaves of Euphorbiaceae plants in the Langsa City region. The findings revealed the presence of five Euphorbiaceae species in Langsa City, including Euphorbia mili (jade fern), Jatropha curcas (Jatropha curcas), Codiaeum variegatum 'Norma' (norma puring), Codiaeum variegatum Bi (jet puring), and Codiaeum finger (finger puring), all of which exhibited parasitic stomatal types.

Abstract

Indonesia sebagai negara dengan hutan hujan tropis memiliki keanekaragaman jamur makroskopis yang sangat tinggi, namun dokumentasi ilmiahnya masih terbatas. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menginventarisasi dan mengidentifikasi beragam jenis jamur dari divisi Basidiomycota di kawasan Taman Hutan Kota Langsa. Penelitian dilakukan pada Mei 2025 menggunakan metode jelajah bebas (cruise method) dengan pengambilan sampel purposif di area hutan seluas 1,56 hektar yang memiliki vegetasi tertutup di sekitar danau buatan. Sebanyak 20 spesies jamur makroskopis dari divisi Basidiomycota berhasil diidentifikasi, yang tersebar dalam 5 ordo dan 11 famili. Ordo Polyporales merupakan ordo yang paling dominan (50%), diikuti oleh Agaricales (30%). Famili Polyporaceae menjadi yang paling beragam dengan 8 spesies, yang umumnya ditemukan pada substrat kayu mati. Temuan ini menegaskan pentingnya kayu mati sebagai habitat utama jamur dekomposer dan menyoroti perlunya konservasi mikrohabitat hutan untuk menjaga keberlanjutan keanekaragaman jamur.
