Abstract

Technological developments have brought significant transformation in the world of education, including the role of teachers in the learning process. This research aims to explore changes in the role of teachers from mere facilitators to innovators in technology-based learning models. Using a qualitative approach, data was collected through in-depth interviews, classroom observations, and document analysis on 10 teachers from various levels of education in the research area. The research results show that teachers who adopt technology-based learning are able to create an interactive and personalized learning atmosphere. As facilitators, teachers utilize technology to support information access and increase student involvement in learning. Meanwhile, in their role as innovators, teachers develop digital learning media, utilize online platforms, and design learning strategies that suit students' needs in the digital era. However, the challenges faced include limited infrastructure, lack of technology training, and resistance to change. This research recommends increasing support from educational institutions in providing technological facilities and ongoing training for teachers. In this way, teachers can continue to adapt and innovate in technology-based learning models, ensuring relevant and meaningful learning for students.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the understanding and responses of students in the Islamic Education (PAI) Program at STITNU Sakinah Dharmasraya toward contemporary Islamic discourse from the perspective of Islamic educational philosophy. In the context of the ever-changing era, contemporary Islamic discourse requires reinterpretation and rethinking of Islamic teachings to be more relevant and contextual. Islamic educational philosophy serves as an essential foundation in shaping students' mindset to respond to contemporary issues while adhering to the core values of Islam. This research employs a qualitative approach with a case study method. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation involving 15 PAI students who actively participated in contemporary Islamic discussions. The results indicate that most students have a good basic understanding of Islamic educational philosophy but still face challenges in translating these principles into responses to contemporary issues such as pluralism, radicalism, gender, and religious moderation. The study concludes that strengthening the integration of Islamic philosophical studies with social realities in the PAI curriculum is necessary so that students can become intelligent, critical, and moderate agents of change in addressing the challenges of the times.
