Abstract

In this research, cellulose acetate fiber was produced by electrospinning method. Cellulose acetate was dissolved with acetone solvent and then putin to a cooling system torestrain the rate of evaporation of cellulose acetate. The conductivity and evaporation rate of the cellulose acetate solution were tested, and the cellulose acetate fiber sproduced were tested using scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The conductivity of the cellulose acetate solutionwas 3.45 S/cm at 15oC and almost doubled at 22oC. The cooling system test was ableto maintain the temperature of the cellulose acetate solution at 15 oC for approximately 2 minutes. In addition, bead fibers are produced due to their low conductivity.

Abstract

Orange peel may be a plant that produces fundamental oils that are utilized as cancer prevention agents. Abstract

An organic ester with good mechanical characteristics (such as a high Young's modulus and tensile strength) is cellulose acetate (CA), a biobased polymer. Over the past few decades, the thermal characteristics of CA have been extensively studied. This study looked at the morphology and thermal characteristics of plasticized CA, particularly its mass loss according to thermogravimetric analysis. The analysis and comparison of the overall thermal behavior with theoretical models was done. The results of this study may have particular significance as certain polymers have a recognized dependence on β-relaxation for their mechanical attributes; this may also apply to CA.

Abstract

The leaves, fruits, and roots of papaya (Carica papaya L) are mostly used as traditional medicine. Papaya leaves are used by the community to treat diarrhoea, acne, appetite, and digestive problems. Papaya leaf extract has potential as an antioxidant derived from secondary metabolites, namely alkaloid compounds that produce a bitter taste in papaya leaves. This study was conducted to look at antioxidant compounds by conducting antioxidant activity tests. The results of papaya leaf research contain active compounds flavonoids, alkaloids, and steroids. Research conducted on the level of colour brightness in papaya leaves is different, namely 10 ppm, 25 ppm, 50 ppm, 75 ppm and 100 ppm. Papaya leaf extract has a power that is included in the strong category with the IC50 value obtained 8.71 marked by the results of calculations less than 100. Antioxidant activity testing using the DPPH method papaya leaf extract positively contains antioxidant compounds and can be utilised as a natural antioxidant.

Abstract

Krisis pasokan aspal berbasis minyak bumi telah mendorong upaya inovatif dalam pengembangan bahan pengikat jalan yang lebih ramah lingkungan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji potensi tar hasil pirolisis tempurung kelapa sebagai bahan baku bioaspal melalui metode pencampuran panas (hot mix). Formulasi dilakukan dalam dua tahap: Bioaspal I dengan variasi rasio tar, karbon tempurung kelapa (KTK), dan serbuk tempurung kelapa (STK); serta Bioaspal II dengan penambahan lem fox sebagai perekat tambahan. Parameter fisik yang dianalisis meliputi berat isi, berat jenis, dan kerapatan relatif. Hasil pengujian menunjukkan bahwa sampel B1-D merupakan formulasi terbaik pada Bioaspal I, dengan nilai berat isi 1,10 g/cm³, berat jenis 1,32 g/cm³, dan kerapatan relatif 0,22 g/cm³. Sementara itu, pada Bioaspal II, sampel B2-C menunjukkan performa paling optimal dengan berat isi 0,93 g/cm³, berat jenis 1,12 g/cm³, dan kerapatan relatif 0,19 g/cm³. Analisis morfologi menggunakan Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) mengungkapkan bahwa Bioaspal I memiliki struktur permukaan yang lebih padat dan homogen dibandingkan Bioaspal II. Penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa tar tempurung kelapa memiliki potensi sebagai alternatif bahan bioaspal, meskipun diperlukan pengujian lanjutan seperti penetrasi, daktilitas, titik nyala, dan titik bakar untuk memastikan kelayakan aplikatif secara teknis
