Abstract

Nurse performance is measured by the services provided to patients so that patients feel good or bad about the health services provided by nurses. So nurse performance is the work of nurses in providing nursing care according to their authority and responsibility which can be measured in quality and quantity. Performance can be interpreted through the compliance of professional nurses in carrying out nursing care in accordance with standards. The purpose of this study was to determine the factors associated with the performance of nurses at the Betungan Care Health Centre, Bengkulu City. The method used was a cross sectional design, the data were collected in the form of primary data by distributing questionnaires to 31 nurses at the Betungan Care Health Centre, Bengkulu City using the Total Sampling technique. The results of univariate analysis showed that almost some nurses (45.2%) with vocational education, more than some nurses (58.1%) with good work discipline, almost some nurses (38.7%) with long service period and more than some nurses (61.3%) with good performance. The results of bivariate analysis showed that there was a relationship between education and nurse performance (p=0.029), there was a relationship between work discipline and nurse performance (p=0.001) and there was a relationship between tenure and nurse performance (p=0.014).The researcher suggested that the Puskesmas should be able to motivate its employees at work so that nurse performance becomes good and for the Health Office the results of this study are expected to be used as one of the considerations for making policies or programs in improving the performance of nurses.

Abstract

Based on data from the World Health Organization (WHO) in 2016, approximately 335 million people worldwide suffer from rheumatism. According to data from the Health Office of Bengkulu City in 2019, based on doctor diagnoses, the prevalence is 11.11%. Gout arthritis is among the top 10 most prevalent diseases in Bengkulu City, ranking 7th (Health Office of Bengkulu City, 2020).The aim of this study is to assess the frequency distribution of knowledge before and after conducting educational activities on rheumatoid arthritis, focusing on improving public understanding as a preventive measure against the disease. The method used in this research involved two activities: lectures and Q&A sessions. Results and Discussion: In this community service activity titled "Health Education on Rheumatoid Arthritis in Rt. 26, Sawah Lebar Subdistrict, Bengkulu City," analysis of questionnaire responses showed a significant increase in knowledge distribution between the pre-test and post-test phases. Initially, the average knowledge score was 65 (fair), which improved to 80 (good) after the education session. This indicates the effectiveness of the intervention in enhancing elderly understanding of rheumatoid arthritis. Recommendations: The results of this rheumatoid arthritis education activity are expected to provide information that enhances public understanding of the importance of prevention and management of rheumatoid arthritis. Abstract

The southern region of East Java is located above an active subduction zone, where the Indo-Australian Plate is subducting beneath the Eurasian Plate. This tectonic condition makes the region potentially susceptible to large-scale megathrust earthquakes. This study aims to characterize the suspected seismic gap segments in the southern subduction zone of East Java, with a primary focus on the area between Pacitan and Lumajang. The approach used is based on high-resolution seismotectonic spatial analysis, combining three main parameters: seismicity distribution, earthquake return period estimates, and a-values and b-values as indicators of tectonic activity and stress condition. The analyzed data covers a long period of time, from 1910 to 2025, and was compiled by the BMKG and USGS catalogs. The results of the analysis show that the Pacitan-Lumajang segment experiences a lack of earthquake activity in the plate interface, although this area is tectonically active. In addition, this segment has a very long return period (> 500 years for Mw7 and > 4,000 years for Mw8), accompanied by low a-value and b-value, indicating low earthquake frequency and high stress accumulation. These findings indicate that the segment is a locked zone that has the potential to release large amounts of energy in the future. The results of this study provide an initial contribution in understanding the spatial distribution of seismic activity in the southern region of East Java, and can be used as supporting considerations in initial disaster risk assessments, especially in densely populated coastal areas.
