Abstract

This study aims to understand the role of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teachers at SMP Negeri 05 Sinunukan in improving students' spiritual intelligence through strengthening vertical relationships with Allah SWT. The method used was descriptive qualitative with data collection techniques in the form of semi-structured interviews, direct observation, and documentation. Interviews were conducted with PAI teachers, students, principals, and school staff, while observations were made on religious activities such as getting students used to reading prayers and the Qur'an before starting learning Obliging and guiding students to pray zhuhur in congregation. Documentation involved collecting documents related to the PAI program. Data were analyzed by reduction, presentation, and verification of findings through data triangulation. The results showed that PAI teachers not only delivered religious materials but also acted as role models, integrating religious theory with real practices. Activities such as praying together and helping students apply religious values in everyday life by guiding students to pray zhuhur in congregation. And positive interactions between teachers and students. Students show improvement in their understanding and application of religious values, and feel the positive impact in their lives.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meneliti hubungan antara mukjizat (I'Jaz) al-Qur'an dan kemajuan pendidikan, khususnya dalam bidang pendidikan agama Islam. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah studi pustaka, dengan mengumpulkan data primer dari Al-Qur'an dan data sekunder dari buku serta artikel penelitian sebelumnya yang relevan dengan I'jaz al-Qur'an. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa i'jaz al-Qur'an adalah mukjizat yang ada di dalam Al-Qur'an, yang diturunkan oleh Allah swt kepada Nabi Muhammad saw dan dianggap sebagai mukjizat terbesar Nabi. Selain itu, Al-Qur'an memiliki keunikan mukjizatnya sendiri, terlihat dari isi dan kandungannya yang penuh makna mendalam, yang dapat menjadi pedoman hidup umat Islam di seluruh dunia. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa Al-Qur'an sangat relevan dengan perkembangan pendidikan, terutama pendidikan agama Islam. Al-Qur'an tidak hanya relevan di zaman Nabi, tetapi juga akan tetap relevan di masa depan.. Keterkaitannya dengan pendidikan adalah Al-Qur’an memiliki makna yang sangat luas, khususnya berkenaan dengan disiplin ilmu pengetahuan seperti penguatan spiritual, moral, dan intelektual. Selain itu, Al-Qur’an juga banyak membahas perkembangan ilmu pengetahuan yang sebelumnya tidak diketahui oleh manusia, tetapi telah dipaparkan dalam Al-Qur’an.

Abstract

This study originates from the implementation of authentic assessment at SDN 329 Suka Damai, which, although applied in Islamic Education (Pendidikan Agama Islam, PAI) learning, still faces several challenges in practice. Authentic assessment, as a form of evaluation emphasizing the contextual measurement of skills, attitudes, and knowledge, encounters obstacles such as teachers’ difficulties in systematically developing assessment instruments and rubrics, limited time, administrative workload, and a lack of technical training. The aim of this study is to examine how authentic assessment is implemented and to identify the challenges faced by teachers along with the strategies they employ in PAI instruction. The method used is descriptive qualitative, with data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The findings show that authentic assessment has been implemented through self-assessment, project-based assessment, and product assessment, but its execution remains suboptimal due to limited technical capacity among teachers and heavy workloads. Strategies used by teachers include adapting assessment instruments from available sources and collaborating with peers in rubric development. In conclusion, continuous training and institutional support from the school are needed for authentic assessment to be implemented more effectively and consistently in PAI learning. The implication is that optimal authentic assessment can foster the holistic development of students’ character and spiritual competencies in alignment with the goals of primary education.
